Hey, Tony, what do you think...

...about this new article on Washburn Elementary School? I know that most elementary schools do not warrant Wikipedia articles. However, I didn't know if you were familiar with this particular school or if it had any special significance to the Puerto Rican educational system. I hope you are doing well today! :) Ecoleetage (talk) 14:30, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, again! I wanted to bring the article to your attention, in order to see if you had access to any sources that could preserve it from being deleted. I would imagine there is a good history behind the school. Good to hear from you, too! :) Ecoleetage (talk) 18:05, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

thanks!

well, been busy but I always go around... wikipedia is like that ;). Thanks!--Cerejota (talk) 23:02, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Latino again

Hi Tony. Edgar is again out of control over there and has just broken 3rr and inserted irrational accusations of "censure" and 'anti-Latino' (the usual) into the article. That's bad enough on the talk page as it is. Anyway, I'm posting this in case you're here right now to ask you to please intervene. If you're not, I'm just going to file a 3rr report on Edgar. Gracias. SamEV (talk) 01:12, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

"do what you think is right"
That would be undoing the latest nonsense (sorry, but there's no other name) he inflicted on that article. But I'll wait till evening, since I don't want to fall afoul of 3RR myself. Thanks. SamEV (talk) 15:57, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Afro-Puerto Rican

Just following up on the Afro-Puerto Rican edit. Essentially, in Puerto Rico one would not say "afro-puertorriqueño" because it when you are on the island, it is assumed that you are boricua (aside from those who may think you are dominican). In Puerto Rico one just says, "soy negro" when a description is given. However, because this is an encyclopedia and we are in the United States, we are describing things, (1) that are not here, and (2)in English. Which is exactly the reason why Afro-Puerto Rican exists in English as an anthropological term. The term was not created as a divide-and-conquer tactic. It is merely a descriptive term used properly in the context of this category. That is to say, I well understand social backgrounds of discrimination and the nuyorican experience, but I don't think it is relevant to the deletion of an accurate, historical term used to describe a group in PR that seldom gets any credit. Es decir, no tiene que existir un termino antropologico, (sumamente correcto) en espanol para que exista en ingles. Asi es con muchas cosas en los idiomas. A google search reveals an amount of "Afro-Puerto Rican" on a scale that is staggering. The current name is very vague and arguably includes a majority of all Puerto Ricans. Ah, en cuanto al dicho de dinga, hay otro: "el que no tiene de congo, tiene de carabali." Saludos, --Noopinonada (talk) 15:18, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

I also merged the articles the best I can. Please, when you get time go & review them, and if is necesary do any needed edit.

Hello, thats interesting, I've only been lucky enough to attend one Yankee game in my life despite going to New York once a year since I was young, those Yankee tickets can be really hard to get. Regarding the Cepeda issue i'm over it now and understand that he was just trying to improve the article, I regret even starting the issue--Yankees10 05:10, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter
Issue XXXII (October 2008)
Project news
  • Following a lengthy discussion, three new coordinators – EyeSerene, Maralia and the_ed17 - have been coopted. The purpose of the appointments is partly to fill the place left by the retirement of TomStar81 and partly to provide increased/improved coordinator capacity to cover existing coordinator absences and to help with upcoming major projects. As a reminder, coordinators are merely editors who have committed to go the extra mile for the project and that there are very few processes that require coordinator input. Specifically these are closing A-Class reviews, and endorsing two project award nominations. Any editors who wish to help with the nitty-gritty of this busy project (cross-posting A-Class review, peer review and featured article candidate alerts; responding to member questions and queries, helping with drives) are positively encouraged to do so.
  • A workshop has been set up to redesign and improve the newsletter. In our recent competition, a new name was chosen – The Bugle. All editors are welcome to participate, especially those with graphic and design skills!
  • Administrator and Milhist coordinator, Nick Dowling, has changed his user name to Nick-D.

Hi Tony,

I really enjoyed reading Chinese immigration to Puerto Rico. I learned a lot from reading it; and, I liked the way it was written.

Would you take a look at my talk page? The note above yours about Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines (1967) — asking about badges and awards? I left a suggestion. If you could help out in any way, I'm sure that it would be appreciated.

GA nomination

For Jewish immigration to Puerto Rico. It deserves the status and it deserves FA too, but one step at a time ;). Thanks! --Cerejota (talk) 13:42, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I think it needs work; I don't know of any other list of people where it's just a list of vignettes separated by horizontal rules. A lot of the space is taken up with their curriculum vitae and resumes; we don't need to know, for example, that "Dr. Solís earned his surgeons degree from the university of Puerto Rico's School of Medicine. He then continued his surgical training at the Shands Hospital of the University of Florida" All we need to know is the basics: Who he is, and why he's on this list. Where he got his degree doesn't matter, unless that in itself was notable. If he had his own article, then that would be fine there, but this article, IMO, needs to be specific on what it includes. IMO, if they aren't notable/sourced enough for their own article, that's not license to include more content here than the ones WITH articles. --Golbez (talk) 05:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Your request

Hi, I will try to go over Puerto Rican scientists and inventors as soon as I feel up to it again. I am very discouraged right now, but probably I will get over it. I have looked at the criteria for lists, and I see that there is a lot to consider. I am assuming that you know the basic list format etc. Is that true? Or should I be looking for specific list issues, and not just general MoS type things? Regards, —Mattisse (Talk) 21:30, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Work!

Lets begin this week by sorting out which articles to work on, that should allow us to work faster on them during this hasty period. I suggested the two shortest before, now we could add Sixto Escobar to that category as well, do you have any preferences? - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:39, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Sixto Escobar it is. I will work both that list and the the one covering the world champions in December, but I need some free time to do it and work with the PRs and FLCs. - Caribbean~H.Q. 02:19, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

New entries on List of Puerto Ricans

Hi, I did not add sources for Lourdes Pérez, Sylvia Rivera, Anthony Romero and Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes because all four of them have entries in Wikipedia, most of them with sources. Should I still go ahead and add a reliable verifiable source to their listings on the List of Puerto Ricans? Thanks.--Mgdelarosa (talk) 19:17, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi there! Long time no see! I'm curious about something. I've been looking at the Senate of Puerto Rico page and the table of the results of the 2008 election. Is the table accurate? It shows the PNP winning all 16 district seats - despite barely outpolling the PPD (by a margin of 47.4% to 47.1%). I know that first-past-the-post elections do produce electoral distortions (my own country used that system before 1996), but I can't quite understand how 47.4% of the vote can translate into 100% of the seats. Is there an explanation?

I hope you and your family are well. Blessings to you. David Cannon (talk) 23:02, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

The NPP obtained a "copo" in the Senate; that is, it swept all positions, winning both seats in each of the eight senatorial districts, as well as electing its six at-large candidates. The PDP managed to elect five of its six at-large candidates (there are 11 at-large elective seats). Since the NPP elected 22 senators and the PDP minority only 5, the PR Constitution's minority representation rules are activated. The Constitution guarantees the minority a minimum of 9 seats. Having elected only 5, the PDP is entitled to four add-on seats, who will then be considered at-large senators. They will be Sen. Juan Eugenio Hernández Mayoral, the losing at-large candidate, Sen. José Luis Dalmau and the two candidates from the Guayama district. These last 3 were the district candidates that lost by the smallest margins. Sen. Dalmau was recently reelected Senate Minority Leader for the new term.

A few significant analitical points:

-Sen. Dalmau is serving his third term as PDP Floor Leader, quite an accomplishment.

-Outgoing Sen. President McClintock transformed a small 9-member minority into a very comfortable 17-member majority and, now, the constitutional maximum of 22.

Judge Florentino V. Floro, Jr.

Hi, Sir! May I please ask if you will still be willing to consider re-opening the appeal at the opportune time amid the intense Wiki and off-wiki personal battle (legal) between me, User:TheCoffee, User:Cma and Max? I admit that I had filed off-Wiki administrative school confidential case (verbal and still undergoing probe) against these 3 above, with reservation to file the Articles 19, 20 & 21, inter alia, of the our New Civil Code lawsuits for damages in our Courts. This is my legal right which is respected by Wikipedia. I admit that since last year I cursed these 3 and the entire Filipino Wikipedian community. I stand by my position. I thank all of you who have had faith in me amid all these bickering. My emails is judgefloro@yahoo.com I state that I never used any sockpuppet or alter amid accusations. I noticed that there is an ongoing multiple registration in order to create a case against me. That will fail. Puerto Rico Senate (cont'd)

Hello again! Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I've been reading your son's article about you. You've certainly had a very varied life with lots of interesting adventures. No doubt that is partly why your writing is so interesting to read - you've had first-hand experience of many of, and therefore a feel for, the things you write about. Seeing you with political leaders - both Puerto Rican and American, including President Clinton - wow! What an honour!

Thank you for sharing what your friend told me about the Puerto Rican election. Thanks for that - I think I understand most aspects of it much better now. There's still one detail, though, that I can't quite understand : according to the table in the article, the PNP got 47.4% of the popular vote and all 16 districts; the PPD got 47.1% of the popular vote and no districts. That's what I don't quite understand : the popular vote was extremely close - the difference between the parties was a tiny 0.3% of the popular vote, but it produced a landslide - 100% of the districts! I'm just trying to figure out how that can be mathematically possible. That's why I asked whether you knew if the table was accurate or not.

By the way, you many have heard that we had an election of our own on 8 November, and John Key was elected Prime Minister.

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions! Have a wonderful time with your family. David Cannon (talk) 09:27, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

The NPP won by a roughly 53 to 42 margin, with the new Puerto Ricans for Puerto Rico Party (PPR) and PIP divying up the difference. These last two parties did not reach the minimum threshhold to remain as registered parties and will have to collect about 100,000 signatures each to re-register. The NPP's victory margin was the largest in 44 years, since the PDP's last landslide victory in 1964. Pr4ever (talk) 13:13, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Puerto Rican Irish

Tony, thanks for your 'comunicado'. I will check your article Puerto Rican Irish tomorrow. I just came from running 8 laps; I am training for a marathon in February. tu hermano, Pedro =)

Hello, just to say Hola y buenas noches. No se nada de ti en dias. Hope u are okay. ur friend, Pedro~~Io_Wiki2007~~ (talk) 01:54, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the delayed reply, hope you enjoyed this week as well. I would say that the article is ready to pass with a good copyedit. Between Monday and Tuesday, I navigated trough the web to look for something new. Oddly enough, outside of Fonseca's book, we seem to have the most complete biography out there, in fact, most of them are depressingly short. This seems interesting, but I'm not sure how we can integrate it just yet. - Caribbean~H.Q. 00:03, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Its quite solid, I also noticed that its Jewish and Chinese counterparts got DYKs as well. If this tendency continues, we may end up producing over a dozen good articles during the winter. - Caribbean~H.Q. 00:43, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the "Tony magic", I will get to the museum thing shortly and will nominate in a few hours, cheers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:49, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, the book says that "el lugar donde paso sus ultimos años..." was converted into a museum, it doesn't specify... - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:05, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
We're on, cheers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 03:46, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

The Irish are Coming! The Irish are Coming!

Tony, the new article is amazing -- you should compile all of these immigration articles into a book! I learn so much from your input to the project -- thank you so much for all you are doing! Be well. Ecoleetage (talk) 00:25, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah this is incredibly well-sourced material. While content in wikipedia is open and is owned by no one, the research itself is Tony's. If you need to turn it to a book, email me, we can work something out to get you a good editor and some expert knowledge. Your thesis behind it is WP:SYNTH in wikipedia, but would make a great book otherwise. I myself are half-gringo, and have Welsh, English, Scots-Irish blood, besides the whole native-spanish-african thing, and my great grandfather was spanish from spain, not just from the 16th century! Thanks! --Cerejota (talk) 04:01, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Did You Know problem

Hello! Your submission of Irish immigration to Puerto Rico at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed. There still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Art LaPella (talk) 01:46, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Tony! I've had my own run-in with the "unwritten rules" (I bluntly stated that I only recognised Wikipedia policy). That said, I did a character count and the article did come up a bit short of the 5x expansion. Of course, expanding an already lengthy article to one that is even larger is a task, and the work you did was extraordinary. In all seriousness, you should consider compiling this information into a book -- the information you are bringing the project is peerless. Keep the great articles coming -- I should be paying you tuition, considering what I've learned from your input! Ecoleetage (talk) 11:42, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about the outcome of your DYK nomination; that rule can be frustrating, especially when you've taken a couple thousand characters of poorly written text and spent days changing it to a couple thousand characters of excellent text; unfortunately, however, there aren't enough volunteers or enough time at DYK to qualitatively evaluate the status of the article before its expansion began and thus we can only rely on the quantitative length of the article. It's a shame that we can't feature an article like this, but if everyone demanded that we perform a full evaluation of the quality of their articles before and after expansion we would never get through the large backlog of nominations we already have. Anyway, from what I can tell, the work you have done on this article is quite good and it seems like an excellent candidate for GA status, although I'm sure you already know all about that. Best, —Politizer talk/contribs 22:21, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Added reference

Thanks for pointing out that I had not yet inserted a reference to Victor Argo's biography, which you will see, I now have done. I hope others will expand Victor's biography. He was a lovely man, a terrific actor, and with a great sense humor. I may also eventually add a photo or two of his work back in the 1970's - work that I fondly remember. Weimar03 (talk)

This was on Main Page

This was on the DYK one cycle back:

... that John F. Kelly's 2003 promotion to brigadier general while in Iraq was the first promotion of a U.S. Marine Corps colonel in a combat zone since Chesty Puller's 1951 Korean War promotion?

Fun fact, yes?

ERcheck (talk) 02:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

References

Hope the ref pieces helped. I didn't do the blogs and forum posts, as the didn't seem WP:RS, but rather something you might be using to find background info that you would find confirmed by RS. I've developed a "standardized" naming convention for my refs, which makes it easier to traceback later, and hopefully for other editors to pick up and use as well — Publication_AuthorLastName_yyyymmdd. I included date info, as it is often the case that items come from same paper/author on different dates. For books -- LastNameYYYY_p## or LastnameYYYY_pp##-##.

Thanks for the note you sent. Very poignant. — ERcheck (talk) 11:56, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

All-Time DYK Record for Ivan Castro

Tony -- Congratulations (and a "Hooah!") are in order. Your excellent DYK hook for Ivan Castro (soldier) drew 71,300 page views while it was featured on the Main Page. That's an all-time DYK record for most page views! The list of all-time top DYK page views can be seen here, and your Castro article is now #1: Wikipedia:DYKBEST#All-time best of DYK. Cbl62 (talk) 05:22, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

You do get your name included at the top of the All-Time Best of DYK list! Seriously, I hope the experience hasn't discouraged you long term. Your Ivan Castro article and hook are the type of inspirational content that we should be encouraging. Cbl62 (talk) 05:37, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
I agree, don't let it get you down. Another note: please don't take this the wrong way, but I didn't do it for you. I'm glad to call you a friend, but my talk comments were for Ivan, not Tony. I will, however, always be willing to back you up or offer assistance whenever you need it, jefe. bahamut0013 12:25, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Almost 15,000 more hits than the second place, that lead is quite solid. Its definitely going to be featured in the next newsletter, cheers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 14:48, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Congrats on the record and kudos on the interesting article. In my opinion, some of what got cut out looked notable. I would have reverted, but there were so many intermediate edits I didn't want to make a mess. If there's information that belongs in the article, I think it would be good to put it back in. I don't think the events he's competed in are "irrelevant" and they looked to be supported by good sourcing. Take care. Don't sweat the small stuff.ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:44, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia is famous for lame edit wars. I'm in a dispute over kishka. Don't let it get you down. Some of the information removed was a bit peripheral, but the major events that could be sourced should, in my opinion, be included. I saw the removal got reverted. But then it got redone. I couldn't really follow the reasoning, and I can't bear to read another argument at the moment :) . I'm willing to try to put most of it back and see what happens... What do you think? Anyway, it's great article and it's been widely read. So never mind the frustrations. Party on. And thanks for your service. ChildofMidnight (talk) 20:11, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Sooner or later, he'll get bored and leave, or he'll break a rule and get banned; either way, we'll be able to fix up the article once he's gone. He appears to have an anti-American bent, and why he's fixated on this particular article is beyond me. Just have some patience, Tony, we'll get the article up to where it needs to be sooner or later. bahamut0013 22:29, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Wow! Congratulations on so many levels! I am very happy to have you here! You make all of us so much smarter with each new day! (How much do I owe you for tuition?) Be well! :) Ecoleetage (talk) 01:11, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Since I noticed that you are of Jewish descent, I believe that you may enjoy reading one of my "Immigration to Puerto Rico Series" articles. Here it is for your enjoyment: Jewish immigration to Puerto Rico. Take care, Tony the Marine (talk) 04:36, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Sure thing, Tony the Marine! I thought that the other users were somewhat overzealous in their words and actions. I truly did enjoy reading it, and without trying to sound too corny, Sgt. Castro is an inspiration to us all.
Although I wouldn't consider myself to be part of the Jewish people, I did enjoy reading the article on Jewish immigration to Puerto Rico. That is what's so great and interesting about Wikipedia, those little facts of history and people you don't read about in regular history books. Kind regards, --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 06:08, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing me toward the fun article with gorgeous illustrations. Que guapisima! Do I have that right? Take care and God bless. ChildofMidnight (talk) 07:16, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Snarky edit summaries

This is my last post to your page, hopefully ever. Telling me I "best knock it off now", when I've done nothing untoward is not kosher. Also, leaving a snarky edit summary when removing good faith posts from your page ("Some people will live all their lives confused") is also not a terribly great idea. You were in the wrong, doing a drive-by post at AM's page, after the issue was over, not me. But one thing you have done is clear up any confusion I had about your post there. Thanks for at least that, and good bye. S.D.D.J.Jameson 12:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm starting a new project

I'm planning to take on a project for the rest of the month, and I was wondering if you'd like to join me. I'm planning on replacing the award ribbons on various US military biography and unit pages with the new vector images. There is a .SVG file available for all US awards and most authorized foreign awards (see the templates: interservice, Army, DoN, USAF, USCG, and foreign). I'll also take the opportunity to replace ribbon rack images (where multiple awards are lumped into a single image) and create a ribbon rack table on articles that have a simple list (see example ).
Are you interested in coordinating? If you are not, do you have any advice for me (I'm sure you've started a great many biographies)? bahamut0013 19:15, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure what resolution you are running on. Template:ribbon devices seems to misalign devices on any ribbon size below 106px when viewed at 1152x864 and above... my impression was that the majority of Wikipedia users were at least 800x600 or higher, meaning that a four across row would take up just over half of thier screen or less. To me, it'd rather have a table taking up space than dead whitespace. I'll have to do some more experimenting. to see if I can find something a bit less intrusive.
In any case, I can't imagine that too many people would take offense, but this is Wikipedia, and there are editors who will take offense to anything. I'll start with USMC bios, and if I don't hear too much complaining, I'll expand from there. I've done a few high-profile generals already, and haven't heard anything negative about it yet. Thanks for your thoughts! bahamut0013 20:02, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Excellent! I'm glad you are on board. I'm a bit of a whiz with tables, so let me know if you need any help. I have a good resource to ensure the correct order/precedence: Medals of America interactive rack builder. They are usually up to date with the latest regs, and you can use it for all 5 branches. Salud! bahamut0013 20:34, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I have started with USMC commandants, and already have run into a problem: Alfred M. Gray, Jr.'s list is obviously incomplete (there arent even any campaign medals). I've done some looking, but all of his bios online only list personal awards, and I cannot find a photo of him wearing any uniform but utilities (to check his ribbons)! Do you think you might be able to help? bahamut0013 21:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Yah, I dunno why that pic of Jones comes up in Google Image Search either. bahamut0013 23:31, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Imperial Napoleonic triple crown

It gives me great joy to award this Imperial Napoleonic triple crown to Marine 69-71 for exceptional mainspace contributions to 5 pages in the area of WP:DYK, WP:GA, and WP:FC. Thank you very much for your generous time and diligence on behalf of the project. You are a Napoleon among editors. Yours, Cirt (talk) 05:25, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Hmm...I just checked by AOL email account - which I seldom use, and didn't have a problem. Is it all e-mails? E-mails with links? — ERcheck (talk) 18:34, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I've sent an email as you requested. Hopefully, your difficulties with email as of late didn't interfere with your recieving it, jefe. If not, you can try it yourself. bahamut0013 20:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Unduly archiving

You have unduly archived the discussion page of Ivan Castro even though the discussion is most certainly ongoing and there are not that many posts. Now I cannot properly reply to the posts where I participated. Why did you do that? I have unarchived the posts and made a complaint.Sponsianus (talk) 19:02, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Greetings & Happy Holidays

Tony, thanks for the notes over the past few weeks. I really enjoyed seeing your picture with your family & friends on the “Famous Marines” website. That’s awesome! I’m glad your written work has received the recognition it deserves. Your contributions are tremendous & I too admire your work. Hope to meet you in person some day. Hi

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your service. And thank you for your contributions on Wikipedia.

I have recently remodeled a paragraph in one of the articles that you created and maintain named "African immigration to Puerto Rico (Black history in Puerto Rico)". I'm not sure if you actually wrote that exact sentence but I mean no dissrespect in rewriting it. The reason I did is because nobody can say that racism exists in all countries. I say this is because no one can say they traveled the world to every single country observing the populations for racist acts, nor can they know the true heart of individuals. I have family and friends from Puerto Rico and their experiences tell that Puerto Rico has racism, they are doing a damn good job of hiding it. I am sure there has to be a couple people with racist feelings or intentions in PR but what can we do for our retarded brothers or friends but pray for them and show them love/charity.

Thanks,

Options

Hi Tony, how's it going?

I wanted to ask you something about wikipedia law. If I create something and someone decides to take it down, what are my options? If I fix it and make it clear and understandable and true, I think it should stay up. Is it possible I can make a case to someone higher than the ones who deleted the writing? Please understand that I was never one against Barack Obama, but once I was conscious of the situation our country could possibly be faced with, I wanted to do something. It is really important to our country and the freedoms we have. With our freedoms come restrictions and responsibilities which is obvious. I, yourself and many others to get where we are today, we had to show everything, birth certificates probably being one of the more minor of all things.
If you want to look at my recent contribution here is a link to the history

Un regalito

Tony, I found this very interesting: is a flag from "Batallón Provisional No. 3 de Puerto Rico" that was found in Westfield. It has a very particular story. Because the origins are still unclear, don't know if we can use it in one of your articles, perhaps the Puerto Rican Campaign. Anyway, I'm giving you the sources if you are interested: 1 and 2

I didn't know you are the one that created 3 of my favorite articles in Wikipedia! Puerto Rican Campaign, Juan Rius Rivera and Jayuya Uprising. I translated the last two for the Spanish Wikipedia Rivera and Jayuya. When I find some quiet time, I would like to translate the Puerto Rico campaign. Gracias, for all your work and diligence in our history.

pd: I have reverted my edits at Teófilo Marxuach and Jose and Francisco Diaz

Felix Navidad

Hey Tony, first of all, Merry Christmas! Once this week is over, I'm back! During the next month, few things should sidetrack me, how about pushing all those semi-complete articles over the line? I will also tackle the two lists, finish with Orlando Cepeda and fix up Raúl Juliá during this timeframe. Other than that, there are quite a few immigration articles that should be easy to promote. En resumen, this winter should be quite solid for our project. I have been pondering a few format changes to the newsletter, which should be completed sometime in January, I will keep your suggestions in mind while writing it. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. May you have a very merry and happy Christmas and new year, as well, Tony. SamEV (talk) 01:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Felicidades for you as well. I'm always here, just a little busy sometimes. Anyway, we seem to have a problem (yet again) with Portorricensis, he has been edit warring like crazy in both Puerto Rico (see here) and unilaterally undid your last revision to Puerto Rican cuisine (see here) without giving any sort of reasoning, not to mention that he continued pasting his POV all over there as well. Personally, since he is edit warring against several users, I consider his behavior and subsequent lack of expression rather disruptive, but won't take any action due to WP:COI. However he's clearly pleading for a block à la Wiki En Wiki. - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:58, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Feliz Feliz Navidad

Quick note among "Feliz Navidad" messages ;-)

Hey Tony, just letting you know that I'm going home for a few days, I'm leaving in a few hours so this should be my last edit for the moment. We should be able to work with the articles by next week, as a matter of fact, I believe that the two shortest (Luis Muñoz Rivera and Isolina Ferré) are ready for nomination after a good copy edit. Felicidades para ti y los tuyos. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:46, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm back, lets get this rolling. I will file the peer reviews for the lists later tonight, could you work with the copyedits on the smaller articles or should we tackle one of the larger ones? By the way, Isabel Gonzalez seems to be gathering a lot of attention, personally I see good potential in it. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry to hear that, my best wishes for a quick recovery. If you need time don't worry about the editing pace, real life is priority. - Caribbean~H.Q. 03:33, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
