Hmm... interesting. Why must she make everything so confusing though? She's even re-releasing "Pocketful of Sunshine" for international markets. nding·start 07:46, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that's true. I still find it quite odd. I wish she'd get more success. She has several of those iconic summer songs. Strip Me was horribly promoted IMO. I wouldn't have even heard that she was going to release a new album if it wasn't for the internet. I hope she gets success with the international release. I fret internationally they've forgotten about her though, she hasn't released something there in 4 years. nding·start 23:03, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Completely agree with adding "Last Chance", or even "Easy". But the UK track listing could be different than the German one. I think she needs a new label. Epic isn't the best label. Sony in general is really bad. She should just release a greatest hits worldwide, and be on her way. GOD, it's so frustrating. Most of her songs are amazing! It's so sad to see her fly under the radar. They should have pushed "Touch" and "Strip Me", those songs are amazing. nding·start 23:13, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Yayy! I'm so surprised at how well its doing. I hope "I'm Into You" can at least archive half of the success "On the Floor" has. I get why they released though, for her urban fans. It may help with album sales. On a side note, I just watched The Back-up Plan, and it was pretty good. I got it for $10.00 at Walmart. It was randomly on sale from the usual $25.00 price. (DVDs are so expensive -__-'). nding·start 02:25, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

All we can do is hope. It's being sent to adds today, so it should improve. Not many songs can just chart because of digital downloads. The video premiere will help as well, and hopefully she'll perform it on Idol. I wish they would have just pushed "On the Floor" more. She's needs a #1 on the Hot 100. #5 is pretty good, but she needs that number-one! nding·start 03:05, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh I didn't know they removed the source information and all that. Then that person definately shouldn't be editting, you are correct. But I don't think they are forbidden, so to speak. It's just that they reall shouldn't. Okay cool By the way, could I have responded to this on my page or would have to respond here on yours? 66.68.147.62 (talk) 00:58, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

JLOVE?

I can't believe the song charted on the Hot 100 before "I'm Into You". nding·start 21:59, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

It finally leaked! Just in time for my birthday!! :) nding·start 02:19, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Haha, yeah, it charted at number 99, I believe. Pretty good for only having a Facebook campaign as promotion. I haven't listened to it yet, I'm gonna wait for an iTunes rip of it. xD I'm gonna buy it ofc, with my bday money! Haha, that's so cool. Our birthdays are one day from each other! Happy birthday! (Not sure if it's the 29th there yet or not xD). nding·start 19:16, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Today (the 28th). xD No problem. I'm sure now it's the 29th, or close, so I'm gonna wish you a happy birthday again. :) Hope you have a good one! How old are you turning? How'd you get a hold of the title booklet for the credits of Love? Has the iTunes rip leaked? *excited* nding·start 00:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank yah! :) Just turned 16, woo! HAHA unique. Sweet. I'm downloading an iTunes rip of it right now. :D Too bad I have to study... >.> LOL. That won't be happening. xD Yeah, from the snippet "Until It Beats No More" sounded amazing. I was listening to the demo version, sing by someone else, and it was just beautiful. The only reason they picked "I'm Into You" is because of Wayne. Disappointing, but oh well, it might do well on urban. "Papi" as third single please!! I was surprised when I saw that too! Also surprised J.Lo co-produced a song! And saddened she only co-wrote one song. What was all this about Gaga producing two songs though? There was only one, and she only wrote one. With Tricky and The-Dream, I know they are credited as they are in the booklet, but it looks quite messy. I think we should just use what is credited in the brackets. nding·start 00:16, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
UGH. The stupid site was BSing. :( *is impatient* nding·start 00:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
For Tricky, there shouldn't be brackets because it doesn't make much sense because there isn't anything in front of it. UGH. IKR!? As soon was I heard the song title, I was like "for fuck sakes". Her song is actually really bad though, never thought I'd say that about Beyonce, but it's a hot mess. Hmm... JLO doing "Sky Diver"... dunno about that. xD I think the track list is fine, other than "Hooked on You" not being on the deluxe. Hoping it will be somewhere though. I heard "Pieces" isn't even a song, but I'm not sure. nding·start 00:34, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and is "Ougee" a typo? Usually he's credited as Oligee. nding·start 00:35, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I must say... we've done a really fucking great job on the article. Sorry for the language, but it's accurate. ;) nding·start 00:42, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I was asking you if it was a typo on your part, LOL. How the hell do you even pronounce "Ougee"? [OOUG-EE]? Seriously, Polow, seriously? Awesome Jones? What even... nding·start 00:44, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Let's hope so. As long as she does better than "Brave", I'm okay with. To believe she's barely had any promo, other than Idol, and "On the Floor" is pretty much number one worldwide, and is her biggest hit on the charts. LEGENDARY. nding·start 00:46, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Haha! Don't feel embarrassed. It was probably the font. It looked hard to read from the LQ scans from before. I can't even believe how good this article is! LOL! Wow... I just replied to 60+ birthday messages on my Facebook. My hands are so tired. xD nding·start 01:05, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Haha, hardly! Nobody really wished me it in person. But to be fair, I never really made it known it was my birthday. LOL. I don't really like that much attention, so I was just sitting there like "PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT WISH ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUDLY SO EVERYONE HEARS". xD About the cover, I reverted it because it was way to HQ. Do you think you could upload a less HQ version of it? nding·start 01:26, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Could you put in the credits and personnel, recording info, etc on What Is Love?) and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ending-start/Papi Papi please? This weekend I'm gonna try very hard to get "Papi" into the mainspace. nding·start 10:40, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 April newsletter

Round 2 of the 2011 WikiCup is over, and the new round will begin on 1 May. Note that any points scored in the interim (that is, for content promoted or reviews completed on 29-30 April) can be claimed in the next round, but please do not start updating your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. Fewer than a quarter of our original contestants remain; 32 enter round 3, and, in two months' time, only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), who led Pool F, was our round champion, with 411 points, while 7 contestants scored between 200 and 300 points. At the other end of the scale, a score of 41 was high enough to reach round 3; more than five times the score required to reach round 2, and competition will no doubt become tighter now we're approaching the later rounds. Those progressing to round 3 were spread fairly evenly across the pools; 4 progressed from each of pools A, B, E and H, while 3 progressed from both pools C and F. Pools D and G were the most successful; each had 5 contestants advancing.

This round saw our first good topic points this year; congratulations to Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Assyrian people Nergaal (submissions) who also led pool H and pool B respectively. However, there remain content types for which no points have yet been scored; featured sounds, featured portals and featured topics. In addition to prizes for leaderboard positions, the WikiCup awards other prizes; for instance, last year, a prize was awarded to Democratic Republic of the Congo Candlewicke (submissions) (who has been eliminated) for his work on In The News. For this reason, working on more unusual content could be even more rewarding than usual!

Sorry this newsletter is going out a little earlier than expected- there is a busy weekend coming up! A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 19:23, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Awesome!

I finally found the video where Dermot talks about how he is (or was) in the running for the US X Factor and made it onto the shortlist of 5 people, but that the other 4 were all American. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44XBp0vC9iE&lc=UH4y7YeRvsrlE4YkzkJnHoXYAhdqCKZ1uckLTJco5y4&feature=inbox To be honest I don't really care whether we leave the Steve Jones thing or not (since we'll be getting confirmation soon here on who the host(s) and remaining two judges are anyway) but I thought I'd share since I finally found it. 1Dbad (talk) 03:19, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Christina Milian is starting to annoy the shit outta me. 2 years ago, she said a new single was coming. STILL WAITING. She needs to quit Tweeting and start recording. But from some of the tweets "Bet ya wanna know what I'm up to... Lol", it sounds like she's working on it. She should at least give an update. nding·start 22:03, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Heyyooo

Look, Motivation is THE hottest essential urban song in the US now. Everyone is buzzing about it. And right now it has like a +700 bullet on urban radio which usually never happens, its usually good even if a song is like +300 when its peaking. No doubt it's gotta hit #1 on the R&B. She needs to leave the dance overseas. She's got me excited about her new album, and I have never been an ecstatic fan. I say they send the Diplo remix to mainstream to have a surefire Hot 100 hit. And then she needs a hot second single and move quick so she won't end up like SlayeraFlopera (she's still my girl though. lol). Speaking of my girls, Beyonce..... Maybe she should have stayed with her father because when SL came out she was anywhere and everywhere. I mean people are talking about how the video could help this, but idk so far. She needs to get on it. And people are talking she usually does better her second go round, but "Crazy in Love" was her essential song, and "Deja Vu" was not a bad effort, at all compared to "Run the World." I hope she bounces back, but of course she is, we are talking about Beyonce. But my girl Xtina is just slaying on The Voice. This is great for her, easing her back into things. I just hate how 'Bionic tanked because it wasn't a bad album, infact, it was a great one. Things just didn't connect. She just doesn't need to go dirty, don't go old school, and don't go sexy futuristic, just put out a solid pop&B album. On J.Lo, I wish she would perform "I'm Into You" on AI this week instead of "On the Floor." IIY would benefit from the push much better, but since OTF is the big single, maybe the suppose that would push album sales. I'm expecting her to do a respectable 150k. But after the AI performance she needs to focus on I'm Into You, now that is my jam! Love urban pop J.Lo. Well that's my random rant on divas. Hahaaaa hope all is well w/you. Nuyorican Productions

Hey, it's understandable that you added the production company by virtue of the copyright indication. The reason for licensing is usually because the production company is the (copyright) owner of the masters and in-turn licences the use of the masters to the label. For Jlo it's understandable that she'd be the owner of her masters- firstly because she has her own established, full-fledged production company, and secondly because she has enough leverage as a successful artist to negotiate such a favourable contract with her label in which she retains ownership of her work and copyrights. Coupled with the fact that most of these songs were produced under her old Sony contract, it's likely that Sony 'sold' her the songs so that she can then take them to another label (via licensing). Therefore it's really no surprise that artist licensing is at play here. Now with regards to Wikipedia, WP:albums specifies the term 'label', and production companies are generally not labels. Had Nuyorican been an established indie record company operations, then there would probably be no need for her to take it to Island. Imperatore (talk) 01:23, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

The Sony stuff is my assumptions, if you will. I have no intention to add this to wiki, as I have no sources, nor is it that relevant. I just put that in to explain licensing and the reason why it's really not surprising that Jlo has licensing with Island. There's more information on music copyright licensing on the wikipage 'master recordings' I believe that explains all this. However the issue at hand is does Nuyorican Productions fit the wp:albums definition, if you will, of a label. I think not as it's wikipage mostly speaks of production roles and projects. As for Keys, I think that hers is a label imprint that signs other artists? If I'm mistaken and it's just her production company, then we have the same issue as with jlo where the production company shouldn't be in the 'label' entry. Imperatore (talk) 01:43, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
My apologies if my tone came out that way - I just wanted to indicate that I have no intention to argue based on speculation. The issue at hand is simply whether or not the production company qualifies as a label (per wiki definitions), and all the other stuff is extraneous stuff I use to engage in learning and conversation. It would be great if the Nuyorican Productions page can be expanded, and in doing so, clarifying it's music roles. Imperatore (talk) 02:19, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

It seems like to me she's expanded the production company as a record label, or imprint if you will. You're right Imperatore that it doesn't make sense that a production company would be a "label". There really isn't much info about her production company in the first place. I say it's fine as is for the time being, but hopefully we can expand the page and find more information. nding·start 02:28, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

So do you want to keep it as the label for the time being? It just that we don't have any evidence that it's operating as an imprint yet. Like if her deal with Island also included having Nuyorican become an avenue to sign artists to the IDJ system, then it would undoubtedly qualify as a label/imprint. But at the time of her signing, there was no mention of anything of that nature. But since there's the logo of the production company a graphical representation of the label on the CD covers, then from a marketing sense it has a label feel to it, so I can see why it makes practical sense to keep it in. Imperatore (talk) 02:43, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but you're absolutely right. I say it's fine for now, and her deal in the first place was very mixed up, and nothing really official was announced. I mean, first it was said she signed to Def Jam, which she isn't. Unique, on a different note: "often sounds limited and nasal, with a flatness that can feel downright Rebecca Black-esque at its worst." Entertainment Weekly can go %$%#%$$#%^!. nding·start 23:10, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

BTW song PR

Are you doing the peer review? — Legolas (talk2me) 08:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

LOOOOOVE?

Me either! I don't even understand what the hell they are talking about. The vocals sound perfect to me. Rebecca Black? HELL TO THE FUCKING NO E.W.! I don't find them very generic, I mean they do sound like everything else out there, pretty much, but JLO adds something that a lot of artists don't have. "On the Floor" is actually my favorite RedOne production (Yes, FAVORITE... EVER -- including the stuff he did with Gaga), and it is also the best song (IMO) of the year! LOVE? is like an orgy of all of JLO's previous albums. I was reading the reviews on iTunes, and people were saying it sucks, and the only good songs are the RedOne ones. What do the critics want?! But in the end, who buys the albums matter more than what they say. "Good Hit" and "Take Care" are possibly my two favorites. They really give me This Is Me.. Then, insanely. Yes, the lyrics aren't the best, but they are still pretty good songs. She does need to be involved more! I think she will with her next album. Comeback albums need to be very mainstream to be a success, so that probably explains that. I wish dance music would go away already though. I miss the days of rock songs being in the top, as well as R&B. nding·start 23:26, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

From the looks of her previous releases, it looks like she's never been a first week huge sales type of artist. Hopefully the album has longevity. Her problem is, SHE HASN'T PROMOTED, like AT ALL. She probably thought because her song became number one worldwide with like no promo, her album could do it too. She has promo lined up for next week, doesn't she? Hopefully it will pick up more the second week. It seems to be doing fairly well on iTunes though. It was number five on the Canadian store last I checked. nding·start 23:40, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Strip Me

The press release for the tour was released to the public on April 19, 2011, which (if you use critical thinking skills) means the single was released on or before April 19, 2011. Secondly, Bedingfield performed the song on CBS Early Show, where it indicates it is single from the album. This is also reflected here and here. Itsbydesign (talk) 11:33, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Tre' Shon vs Corey Jackson??

Hi Hashim bhai! I came across these edits. Could you keep an eye out for this person? Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 06:06, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Hmm...

Seems like both of us have been quite inactive as of recent. Trying my best to make sure all our hard work isn't completely fucked. Hope you're alright. nding·start 00:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. When I was studying for exams... I couldn't stay away! xD Good luck, and I'll try my best to keep everything looking good. "Right There" is a complete mess, and I'm pretty sure Love? has been pretty messed up. nding·start 00:25, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Haha, mine aren't until next month. xD But thanks. Nice work, I'll continue to work on it. nding·start 02:19, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do. What do you think about it being a single? I think it could possible be a summer hit if it's promoted properly. How the hell are we doing to incorporate the US release in with Killer Love, I think it's gonna be quite difficult. I had an idea for the producers section, by just putting a semi-colon between the original producers, and the new ones appearing on the US release. "Peep Show" sounds like it's gonna be hot, and I'm so glad "Power's Out" will probably be on the album. If "Save Me from Myself" is the Ne-Yo song, my life will be complete, or any other song that was from HNIN. nding·start 02:29, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess that's true; just thought there should be some type of distinction. What do you think about changing the label to A&M? According to the "Right There" release, that's her US label, and since she is a US artist it should be listed as the main label. nding·start 02:40, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Under the assumption she's still in the same contract she was with back in 2007, I say we should maybe list it as: A&M, Interscope. What do you think? nding·start 02:49, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

OTF/Pardonne moi

OK I did a major blunder. I had finisghed the review for OTF. It was just that I forgot to paste it on the PR page from the word document where I jot down points. I have it right here, in front of me open. Now I see that the PR has been closed. Where would you like me to paste the rest of the review? Again, I apologize for not remembering to paste it in its appropriate place. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:49, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

What do you think about the cover? I seriously doubt that it is official and I swear to God that I have seen this picture before. It just looks like a long gone version of Britney. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 17:38, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean!!!!!!! But after In the Zone? I'm just not a huge fan of Femme Fatale because her vocals are so damn processed!!!!! Blackout, Britney, and In the Zone are my favorite albums from her. Anyway, I kinda guessed how you felt, but still, you must agree that this cover is nothing like the direction she is in right now. Damn. This song just came on my stereo. *rolls eyes* Oh Britney, why? --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 17:46, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't believe the cover is really. I mean, since when was Coverlandia a reliable source? Her website would have posted it by now if it was real. nding·start 22:16, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Can you program at all? What languages?—Kww(talk) 02:33, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Well, you are certainly being ambitious. Everyone that programs anything had to do it the first time once, though. For me, it was 36 years ago in a language called FORTRAN IV, quickly followed by ALGOL 60. Give me a bit of a clue as to what you want to do, and I'll see if I can help you learn how to do it. I won't just give you the answer, though, so that hopefully you can do more of it yourself the next time. You won't get a quick answer tonight, though, as I'm heading off to bed.—Kww(talk) 03:49, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

I'll look at it this weekend.—Kww(talk) 21:55, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry, this slipped through the cracks. I will get to it.—Kww(talk) 13:23, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Sorry to be a jaguar but, if it helps, I wrote {{Reverbnation}} and its {{/doc}}. Basically I copied {{Allmusic}}, crossed out the complicated bits I didn't understand, changed Allmusic to Reverbnation throughout, and it seemed to work. The only bit that vaguely resembles programming is making up the URL at the start of the template. In my case this was www.reverbnation.com/{{{1|{{{id|{{PAGENAME}}}}}}}}. The incantation in braces means "Substitute parameter 1 (the myband in {{Reverbnation|myband|My Band}}); if 1 is blank then substitute the parameter named id; if 1 and id are blank then substitute the page name". More complex URLs might require more work. Certes (talk) 19:23, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, you knew all that and more, it was meant for Kww's page. I should learn how to use talk pages before attempting a template! Certes (talk) 07:28, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

"Set Fire to the Rain"

My comments were in no way meant to offend you, and I apologize for how blunt or harsh it was. I knew you were trying to improve the article, and my reaction was unnecessary. Yes, the ARIA announced that "Turning Tables" is a single; however, I don't know if its worldwide or just in Australia, since I have a few sources that claim "Set Fire to the Rain" as a single, like this one from Digital Spy, this one from New York Post, this one from Prefix Magazine, and this one from zimbio.com. I don't know how to reconcile this discrepancy. Orane (talk) 02:43, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Igniting the Precipitation

Hey there, nice to meet you! It's always nice to talk to people interested in music at around my own age. I figured I should be responding to your comment on my own talk page here on your talk page, as far as I can observe. I don't often use talk pages on Wikipedia, so do correct me if I'm wrong.

Regarding Set Fire to the Rain, contrary to what you seemed to imply, my addition was not unsourced. It said "Promo (CD-)single" right in the source, next to the release date (which you oddly didn't remove). It was not my own little conclusion based on an observation, no, I actually read it on the page. I find it hard to understand why you claim it was unsourced when I had a <ref/> tag right next to it, and even harder to understand why the source for the April 4 date was all well and alright, while the "promotional single" part of the source apparently was not okay, when it's the same exact source.

Can you elaborate on why it's not an acceptable source for this? Thanks!

(P.S.: I know how a radio works. My little story there was not my main reason (I can see how that is OR), but I was talking about a radio station which only plays (promo) singles. You could not have known that (in retrospect, I should not have mentioned it), but still. I'm not a total idiot.) —Electricnet (talk) 20:13, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

I LOVE IT WHEN YOU PUT IT RIGHT THERE

I can't believe she finally got a US peak!! I am so excited and happy for her. I can officially see "Right There" becoming a somewhat of a hit/moderate hit/smash hit. Let's just hope Interscope ain't playing around this time and will promote it properly. nding·start 06:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

RE: On the Floor

Excellent! I am so happy for her success, though I think she threw Love? in the same boat as Rebirth by making I'm Into You the second single. I love the song, but it looks like it is bringing the album down. She should have released Papi instead. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 22:45, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

And the article is just as amazing as the song. You should go for FA right after you get it to GA. Seriously, this will become one of the model articles, right next to 4 Minutes. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 22:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
lol You read your mind with those single choices. Those and OTF are my favorite songs from the album. She should definitely go with this order from now on: Papi, Invading My Mind, Good Hit, and then Hypnotico as a promo or something. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 22:50, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

I understand your POV, but I have explained my reasoning on the talk page. Please reply there. Adabow (talk · contribs) 23:54, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I'm busy as ever now, but just let me know what needs to be done when. I don't know if you got my message way back when, but ya girl Kelly is killin' it with Motivation. But Beyonce at the BBMVA's = epic. No one could have pulled that off, she is the entertainer of the generation. I really hope Beyonce doesn't flop this era because she is bringing it full throttle. It's a shame only gimmicks are selling these days, although that sax solo in "The Edge of Glory" is awesome. And I hate that J.Lo's "Im Into You" isn't doing well because I love that song! For some reason pop songs are doing well and urbans do well, but those that just cross the boundary right in between are the ones that get lost in the mix. But let me know anything I can do for "Ride" or "Gimmie Dat" so we can get them done! Candyo32 02:35, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Set Fire to the Rain

You told User:Electricnet that "until a label makes implicit that a song is being serviced to radio as a single it cannot be listed as such." As far as I know, "Turning Tables" has not been confirmed by her record label as a single. You've found only one source that hasn't even provided a specific date, or even a specific month (or year!) for this supposed single release. You also said "Equally, calling something a promotional single without stating what it is released in promotion of is a violation of WP:V." Isn't it painfully clear that it would be a promotional single for the album? Why else are promotional singles ever released?

And with two more sources (that last one being Billboard) stating that the song is a single, I will revert the article and cite these sources. Orane (talk) 07:41, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

When Love Takes Over

Hi Lil, I'm an user from w:es. I'm planning to translate into Spanish this article soon because of its quality. In my opinion, it is complete enough to be proposed in a FAC, what do you think? Greetings, мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 15:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

I'll try to help as much as I can, but I'm not a native speaker, so everyone should be patient :) But I'll do my best, I promise. I'm taking a lot of exams this time of the year too, you're not alone. Good luck :) мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 23:59, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I like almost every kind of music and I've translated a wide variety of musical articles -from Madonna songs like 4 Minutes (currently FA there) to some Radiohead albums, David Bowie or The Kinks. The bands I listen to most are the alternative rock ones, like Coldplay or U2. I've translated all the Coldplay GAs to Spanish, that are 19 in total. And what about you? I see you're interested in electronic music, I'll pick some of your articles soon :) Greetings мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 00:16, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can see, the article wasn't promoted because of the source's lack of fiability and the format of references, but now it seems that these two problems have been solved, haven't them? Tell me what I can do and I'll try to do it. мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 00:46, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Great!! I'll solve this when I finish translating Dirty Diana :D мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 00:57, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

If you have time, start doing the corrections and then I'll join you, but don't wait for me as I can make you waist a lot of time (I'm attending 2 FACs at w:es and doing a GA translation, meanwhile sitting for my exams). But I'd be very glad to arrive at time. Greetings, мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 01:09, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm afraid I won't be able to solve the refs' problems in When Love Takes Over, as I don't see how to cope with the templates in this wiki (it's not a problem with the language, but with the code, I hope you'll understand). I wish you the best with the article because it's great and it deserves to become a FA. Have you done well in the exams? Best wishes, мιѕѕ мαηzαηα (talk) 00:53, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 May newsletter

We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by Texas Racepacket (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Saskatchewan Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.

Good luck! I am fine my friend. Thanks for asking. What about you? Yes, you said it so right about "Best Thing I Never Had". I totally love it but i think my favorite is "End of Time". I also like "1+1". And YES. You are right. I think 4 will flop. Everyone is saying this. Jivesh Talk2Me 16:19, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

However, i applaud Beyonce for taking risks with her music and not turning to generic pop. Jivesh Talk2Me 16:20, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
To tell you frankly all artist want chart success, i mean commercial success. I bet Beyonce wants it too. but she no longer needs that in my opinion. She is a legend now. Everyone knows her for her dancing, live performances. vocal capabilities. It's not for nothing she received the Billboard Millenium Award. If that award was not given to her, i think Mariah Carey should have got it then. Concerning her singles which are flopping, fans are saying it is because of the lack of promotion. Well i do not know how far that it true. But Beyonce had a bad timing for promotion for RTW. She waited for the single to drop to #172 on iTunes. The video and that half-ass promotion (which was very late), brought it back to #11 on iTunes. If Beyonce did that earlier, RTW could have been a top hit in the US. Lol, Mojito is for me me and me only. Its nice that you already have some experience in the professional field. My first job was with Billboard, and I didn't have any clue regarding coding and chart compilations. I sucked literally there. Changed at the first chance. Well are you gonna be in the accounts division of Wal-Mart's? I have a friend there. (You're in London right?) And oh yeah, even I lost hope that Kelly will ever release her album, imagine, even Nicole Flopsinger released Killer Love and damn atchu Rowland! — Legolas (talk2me) 15:26, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Have you ever tried the Rum flambe? Well imagine drinking fire... As for Kelly's album, motivation is definitely one of my favorite songs right now. I do hope that Michelle would some day also break in US. Knowles cannot be the only DC doing her thang!. As for 4, I have already pre-ordered it and now regretting it wholefully. I heard it at a friend's place and had to ask him to stop it after "Party", because I was literally bored. I mean, yeah I can understand that RTW(G) was a copy of PdF, and yeah 1+1 is about "algebba", but it says volumes about the album if "Party" is the best song on it. I appreciate she took a risk, but it failed according to me. And as we speak and Jay-Z is leaving her for Rihanna, she is running back to Matthew Knowles, crying coz she got her wig snatched by Kelly. Legolas (talk2me) 15:44, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm utterly surprised and very happy for JLo's success. Yes, album wise I did not expect better, but OTF exceeded my expectations. She even left "Born This Way" in the dark. Gives me hope that there's chance for Madonna when she comes back. Yes, "Right There" with 50 Cent is definitely catchy and much better than shit like "Puakekineni". And no, I haven't listened to it, will listen now. Looks like "Papi" might be the third single from Love?, seeing that "I'm Into You" is not making that much of an impact though. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:02, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
"Hypnotico" is my favorite from Love?. Was crazy about it from the demos. Well the faring of the singles would depend on how much she promotes the album now, whether she will go on tour again etc. About tours, Britney's Femme Fatale Tour is so laughable. Why the hell her body went back to the Blackout pigney days? And whoever said that she was singing live should be killed for super-stanning. PS, I have developed a huge hobby of collecting old vinyl records. Its such a delight to hear Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Madonna or Prince on vinyl, with a big headphone on. Feels so, so retro. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:21, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

I completely agree. She came back really strong! I was so chocked that it went #1 in the UK, Germany and France, really impressive. Imagine only if she did really promo around the world for the single :( It a shame the parent album isn't doing well. Why thank you :) Actually, the main one I hope to send off to FA is The Emancipation of Mimi. What do you think of that one? I should have it completely posted in a few hours :) Get ready for some work! ;) I'll let you know when its done!--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:01, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks very much Unique one :) I would love that! After it (hopefully) passes GA I will nominate it for PR and FA following that. Well, "OTF" honestly seems like a good article that had too many hands and viewpoints changing the context, wording and grammar. Don't worry though, no matter how many fixes I will post the entire review, so don't worry, it won't fail :) I want this to pass and hopefully give you a good idea on what needs to be done before FA.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:47, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Would you like to add your opinion to an ongoing discussion regarding the Template:Album ratings? It concerns the number of reviews/scores included in the template and whether or not to keep in the template the reviews with no ratings given, termed "(un)favorable", "mixed", "positive", etc. Dan56 (talk) 22:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 June newsletter

We are half way through 2011, and entering the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; the semi-finals are upon us! Points scored in the interim (29/30 June) may be counted towards next round, but please do not update your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. 16 contestants remain, and all have shown dedication to the project to reach this far. Our round leader was Scotland Casliber (submissions) who, among other things, successfully passed three articles through featured article candidates and claimed an impressive 29 articles at Did You Know, scoring 555 points. Casliber led pool D. Pool A was led by Ohio Wizardman (submissions), claiming points for a featured article, a featured list and seven good article reviews, while pool C was led by Norway Eisfbnore (submissions), who claimed for two good articles, ten articles at Did You Know and four good article reviews. They scored 154 and 118 respectively. Pool B was by far our most competitive pool; six of the eight competitors made it through to round 4, with all of them scoring over 100 points. The pool was led by Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), who claimed for, among other things, three featured articles and five good articles. In addition to the four pool leaders, 12 others (the four second places, and the 8 next highest overall) make up our final 16. The lowest scorer who reached round 4 scored 76 points; a significant increase on the 41 needed to reach round 3. Eight of our semi-finalists scored at least twice as much as this.

No points were awarded this round for featured pictures, good topics or In the News, and no points have been awarded in the whole competition for featured topics, featured portals or featured sounds. Instead, the highest percentage of points has come from good articles. Featured articles, despite their high point cost, are low in number, and so, overall, share a comparable number of points with Did You Know, which are high in number but low in cost. A comparatively small but still considerable number of points come from featured lists and good article reviews, rounding out this round's overall scores.

We would again like to thank United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) and Bavaria Stone (submissions) for invaluable background work, as well as all of those helping to provide reviews for the articles listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please do keep using it, and please do help by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup.

Two final notes: Firstly, please remember to state your participation in the WikiCup when nominating articles at FAC. Finally, some WikiCup-related statistics can be seen here and here, for those interested, though it appears that neither are completely accurate at this time. J Milburn and The ed17 23:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

PERFECT

YES!! Exactly what I wanted. "Papi" as the next single, and a dual single! She should have just went with "Papi" / "Run the World" after "On the Floor". "I'm Into You" did nothing. :( nding·start 04:20, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)

I know how shitty the article looks, but I have confidence that I can transform it. I tried to get CPrice to write the Music video section on Better Than Today and he said that there wasn't enough info. When I finnished, I got at least 2 sub-sections. I can do it, trust me. I've already deleted the obvious wrong things. Trust me. P.S. That Pete Hammond mix TRANSFORMED the song. All versions are good, but that mix... I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:11, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

P.S. Back when I put Astralwerks down, they were solely heading a North American release. Parlo jumped on and headed a worldwide one. I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:15, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I'm cool with it then. Working on the Release history in my sandbox. It's LONG and I live to save in between, so I don't wanna interrupt the article like that... It won't end!!! I hate doing release history... LOL. I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:18, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
You know the chart you just added it "Dance Bubbling Under" right? IMO that's not worth an article mention... What you think? I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:38, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

JLO AND MARC

I cannot believe it! nding·start 03:20, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Hey Unique, I don't know if you noticed this or not, but: it looks like you have a fan who has created a talk page on one of your pages. nding·start 05:16, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

It's been there since September. *dies of laughter* xD Yeah, I could not believe it either, but after the way he was acting at that concert... (IDK if you heard about that or not) it made me lose a lot of respect in him. Although we do not know the circumstances of their divorce (whether JLO cheated, which I, personally, don't believe; I think he would have been more likely to cheat - kind of like a Shaina and Mutt kind of thing, or that he was abusive towards her - which IDEK). Wow - major runon sentence much? Yeah, I've never understood that either. Like, she is the HOTTEST female on the planet [certified ;)] and he's just... But their love seemed pretty real to me. I guess things in Hollywood really don't last forever... :(

On another note, I decided to start working on HNIN again, and I hope to be able to get it up before the summer ends. I got a few ideas of how it could go. Personally, I think some sections we should treat as if the album was released. By that I mean like a "composition" section. There is a lot of info about certain songs, so I think that could fill up a whole section. I added some titles to it earlier. Kind of planning it out. What do you think? nding·start 20:25, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

=D
On a sidenote, WTF are they thinking releasing "Wet" so soon? They just need to push the US and make "Right There" a summer smash.
On yet another sidenote, your work on Here I Am is just amazing! nding·start 21:48, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, I'd hope so. You've been working on it for like 47893894 years. I've never really been a fan of her, but I really liked "Commander" and "Motivation". The US track list is pretty disappointing. Hopefully internationally it will completely diff. (Which I hope Nicole will do as well, with a few song exceptions.) I would seriously die if "Save Me from Myself", "Physical", as well as a couple of unreleased songs from HNIN appear on it. I would be in fucking heaven! No joke! Jay Sean? ...oh god, I hope that is not true. She doesn't need anybody on "Wet", it's fine the way it is. And just putting rappers on all your singles is so desperate. nding·start 22:11, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Now Elope whatever the fuck she changed the title to needs to come out. I am actually dying for her album! The leaks from her SLAYED. And Diddy's whore I mean Cassie, has to release her Electro Love already too! nding·start 22:12, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Here I Am...Reception

A week or two ago I started the "critical reception" section on the Here I Am page which you re-named. Just wondering what happened to the review I added. It has been replaced by an Entertainment Weekly review. With those being the only two professional reviews, I fail to see why anyone would not let them stand alongside one another. Not accusing you of doing it, but you've worked hard on the page and just wondering if you know who deleted it or why it would be deleted when it was written well and referenced aptly. JonathanLGardner (talk) 10:54, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, Here I Am...talking to you :D

Well I guess you certainly seen that I got over to Here I Am. ;) Please add the iTunes source for the Universal Republic and thank you.—Iknow23 (talk) 01:32, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

Question...what is TBC in the Release history Catalog column? Does it mean To Be Confirmed? If so, shouldn't a dash centered in those cells appear instead?—Iknow23 (talk) 01:36, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

LOL I've fixed those issues. The album booklet shows she is indeed signed to Motown and iTunes has corrected itself. Also removed the TBAs and considerably fixed the infobox. :P — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:34, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
p.s. do you think Lay It On Me is notable yet? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:47, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed those changes ;)
Hey, guess what? Yesterday (I think it was) I did a Google search on "Lay It On Me" trying to find writing credits and ! I found your sandbox article for it!!! As to your Q...your article shows unreleased and only a Bubbling Under chart performance. My opinion (since you asked) is to wait for release and/or more charting activity.—Iknow23 (talk) 23:56, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Haha didn't know google would pull up sandbox pages. I kinda guessed the credits before the digital version of album was released. The scream at the beginning of the song is Ester Dean saying "Def Jam Team!" and then I know that both Hit-Boy and Big Sean respectively write their own music/raps. All's good. Have you heard the album yet? What do you think? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:14, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Me too! That why I was surprised to see it there. Oh, she screamimg that? I can't make out the word 'Team'. Yep, heard the Standard version + preview of "Heaven and Earth". Already had "Each Other" from that item I mentioned to you sometime earlier ;) so I've only not heard those remixes (Tracks 13 & 14). "Down for Whatever" chorus makes me think of Selena Gomez & the Scene! It is catchy, though quite repetitive. Some disappointments...(possibly to be rectified on the International version?)... I LOVE "Grown Women", "Haters" and LOVE LOVE LOVE "Forever Is Just A Minute Away"!!!! So what do you think?—Iknow23 (talk) 03:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
I couldn't agree more. The album is really good, very cohesive. Although there's only one let down.. "Keep It Between Us". Personally I would have included "Heaven and Earth" instead and then had another song on the deluxe edition instead. Still having said that its a good album to reintroduce Kelly to the audiences. I've noticed many of the poppier/dancier songs have a different theme to the US ones so I don't think the new international album will have many different songs on it. "FIJAMA" is the bomb... it is the BEST SONG she has ever recorded. It is my favourite unreleased SONG ever... EVER EVER!!! — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:24, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Q: Watch the Throne

I'd like your opinion about the artist field in the infobox for this article. According to this source, Jay-Z and West will be billed as "The Throne" on the album. Should this credit be in the artist field or will "Jay-Z and Kanye West" suffice? Dan56 (talk) 20:47, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm also uncertain of the singles. Is a radio date confirmation of a single release, or is it digital release, like to iTunes? Dan56 (talk) 23:22, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Loud

I really respect you as an editor, but I think you are kinda stubborn :). Don't mean to be rude of course. However, thanks for your advices. I actually know that I fail with the prose, but basically that's because of my English because it's actually my second language, cause I'm Macedonian, and Macedonian it's my maternal language. I think that with this kinds of editing I will improve it. Thanks anyway. Greetings Tomica1111 (talk) 23:25, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

HERE I AM

I gave Here I Am a listen, and surprising, I really like it. I didn't expect much from it, but she really impressed me. The amount of songs on it is very disappointing, but as long as the international version has pretty much all separate songs, I'm game. With all the information you have on this article, it looks like it would eventually have to be split into two separate articles! (Which actually would kind of be amazing). I know it's early and shit, but I had this idea of having like background info and summaries of each release on a main article, and then having separate articles for the track list, singles, charts, etc. for each version. Just an idea really. Not sure how it would work. It would depend how everything goes. xD nding·start 04:46, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Starting Over

Since it looks like it's been chosen as the next single (or at least one of them, as she said that there would be two), I created a sandbox for "Starting Over". nding·start 19:45, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Keri Hilson discography

Hi Lil, I can't deal with this IP user anymore, can you please explain to him/her that bubbling under peaks are not allowed. Thanks, Oz talk 04:16, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Bubbling peaks?

I was looking into the page you sent to RPP. In the contribution history, I see you indicating that "bubbling peaks" should not be included in chart positions. I checked WP:DISCOGSTYLE, and couldn't find any mention of the term "bubbling". Could you explain what that means to me? I'm not saying that I doubt your interpretation, merely that I don't understand. I'll watch this page so you can reply here. Qwyrxian (talk) 01:21, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

It is a long established consensus that we do not use Bubbling Under peaks as they confuse readers. If you are from outside the United States a position of 101 on a chart which only has 100 places is illogical and unreal unless you understand the nature of US charts. Discographies should include main achievements only. Thus if a song has charted other charts then the Bubbling under becomes irrelavant. see here. In my own experience, Bubbling under leads to much abuse because it can only be verified through subscription at Billboard.biz hence I always avoid its use. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 01:29, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I found the info; the problem was that I didn't even understand what Bubbling under meant; but I found the relevant WP article. However, I will say that this needs to be explained to the IP user; that "consensus" you site is in a very out-of-the-way place, and looks like it was discussed by only a couple of users. Plus, your claim doesn't even match the consensus you pointed me to: that link you provided explicitly states, "To be included only when song has not charted on the Hot 100. When/if a song breaks into the Hot 100, this should be removed." According to the discography, that song hasn't charted in the top 100 yet, so why would you not list the information? In any event, this is not a case of vandalism; it's a content dispute. I'm going to decline the request for protection, so take the issue up on the article's talk page. WikiCup 2011 July newsletter

We are half way through the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; there is less than a month to go before we have our final 8. Our pool leaders are New Zealand Adabow (submissions) (Pool A, 189 points) and Russia PresN (submissions) (Pool B, 165 points). The number of points required to reach the next round is not clear at this time; there are some users who still do not have any recorded points. Please remember to update your submissions' pages promptly. In addition, congratulations to PresN, who scored the first featured topic points in the competition for his work on Thatgamecompany related articles. Most points this round generally have, so far, come from good articles, with only one featured article (White-bellied Sea Eagle, from Scotland Casliber (submissions)) and two featured lists (Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, from PresN and Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album, from Another Believer (submissions)). Points for Did You Know and good article reviews round out the scoring. No points have been awarded for In the News, good topics or featured pictures this round, and no points for featured sounds or portals have been awarded in the entire competition. On an unrelated note, preparation will be beginning soon for next year's WikiCup- watch this space!

There is little else to be said beyond the usual. Please list anything you need reviewing on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, so others following the WikiCup can help, and please do help if you can by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup- points are, of course, offered for reviews at GAC. WikiCup 2011 July newsletter

The finals are upon us; we're down to the last few. One of the eight remaining contestants will be this year's WikiCup champion! 150 was the score needed to progress to the final; just under double the 76 required to reach round 4, and more than triple the 41 required to reach round 3. Our eight finalists are:

  • Scotland Casliber (submissions), Pool A's winner. Casliber has the highest total score in the competition, with 1528, the bulk of which is made up of 8 featured articles. He has the highest number of total featured articles (8, 1 of which was eligible for double points) and total did you knows (72) of any finalist. Casliber writes mostly on biology, including ornithology, botany and mycology.
  • Russia PresN (submissions), Pool B's winner and the highest scorer this round. PresN is the only finalist who has scored featured topic points, and he has gathered an impressive 330, but most of his points come from his 4 featured articles, one of which scored double. PresN writes mostly on video games and the Hugo Awards.
  • Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), Pool A's runner-up. Hurricanehink's points are mostly from his 30 good articles, more than any other finalist, and he is also the only finalist to score good topic points. Hurricanehink, as his name suggests, writes mostly on meteorology.
  • Ohio Wizardman (submissions), Pool B's runner-up. Wizardman has completed 86 good article reviews, more than any other finalist, but most of his points come from his 2 featured articles. Wizardman writes mostly on American sport, especially baseball.
  • Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions), the "fastest loser" (Pool A). Miyagawa has written 3 featured lists, one of which was awarded double points, more than any other finalist, but he was awarded points mostly for his 68 did you knows. Miyagawa writes on a variety of topics, including dogs, military history and sport.
  • Canada Resolute (submissions), the second "fastest loser" (Pool B). Most of Resolute's points come from his 9 good articles. He writes mostly on Canadian topics, including ice hockey.
  • Greece Yellow Evan (submissions), who was joint third "fastest loser" (Pool A). Most of Evan's points come from his 10 good articles, and he writes mostly on meteorology.
  • Australia Sp33dyphil (submissions), who was joint third "fastest loser" (Pool B). Most of Phil's points come from his 9 good articles, 4 of which (more than any other finalist) were eligible for double points. He writes mostly on aeronautics.

We say goodbye to our seven other semi-finalists, Another Believer (submissions), Poland Piotrus (submissions), United Kingdom Grandiose (submissions), Bavaria Stone (submissions), Norway Eisfbnore (submissions), Saskatchewan Canada Hky (submissions) and Wisconsin MuZemike (submissions). Everyone still in the competition at this stage has done fantastically well, and contributed greatly to Wikipedia. We're on the home straight now, and we will know our winner in two months.

In other news, preparations for next year's competition have begun with a brainstorming thread. Please, feel free to drop by and share any thoughts you have about how the competition should work next year. Sign ups are not yet open, but will be opened in due course. Watch this space. Further, there has been a discussion about the rule whereby those in the WikiCup must delcare their participation when nominating articles at featured article candidates. This has resulted in a bot being created by new featured article delegate Ucucha (talk · contribs). The bot will leave a message on FAC pages if the nominator is a participant in the WikiCup.

A reminder of the rules: any points scored after August 29 may be claimed for the final round, and please remember to update submission pages promptly. If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Good luck! How are you Hashim bhai? How's life? Work? Uni? Can you take a quick look at Toni Braxton discography? I removed the US AC, DANCE charts but kept the R&B one. Btw, DISCOGSTYLE proposal is marked as failed!? Novice7 (talk) 14:08, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and also the WP:ACCESS thingy :) I hope my format is not boring. Novice7 (talk) 14:11, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the correction. But you didn't reply to my query. Is it okay to keep the R&B chart and remove all the other component charts (the AC and Dance ones)? Seems like you're very busy these days :) Novice7 (talk) 14:19, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
haha sorry. Yes its very good. Im uber impressed. I remember how crap the page used to be. The main genre chart for an artist is fine. You've done a stellar job. Yes unfortunately im hardly ever online anymore. I'm working for Wal-Mart international's head office at the moment. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 14:22, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
It's okay :D Thank you so much! Yes, I know you're working for Wal-Mart (sooo cool!). What about university? Have you completed your degree? After listening to "Another Sad Love Song" over and over, I got obsessed with Toni. Also, I'm so happy for Kelly Rowland! Too bad "Lay It on Me" hasn't charted on Hot 100 yet. Take care Lil! We do miss you :) Novice7 (talk) 14:29, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Aww thank you!!! Nay Im with Wal-Mart for a year then go back to finish my degree. With any luck! Toni's last album had some real potential... it should not have tanked... — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 20:47, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Wow. Regarding Pulse. Omg, yes! When I first heard it, tbh, I didn't like the album. But, after listening to it again, I started liking it. There are some very strong tracks in Pulse. I don't know how it ended up like this. Novice7 (talk) 06:03, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 September newsletter

We are on this year's home straight, with less than a month to go until the winner of the 2011 WikiCup will be decided. The fight for first place is currently being contested by Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Australia Sp33dyphil (submissions), all of whom have over 200 points. This round has already seen multiple featured articles (1991 Atlantic hurricane season from Hurricanehink and Northrop YF-23 from Sp33dyphil) and a double-scoring featured list (Miyagawa's 1948 Summer Olympics medal table). The scores will likely increase far further before the end of the round on October 31 as everyone ups their pace. There is not much more to say- thoughts about next year's competition are welcome on the WikiCup talk page or the scoring talk page, and signups will open once a few things have been sorted out.

If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. WikiCup 2011 October newsletter

The 2011 WikiCup is now over, and our new champion is Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), who joins the exclusive club of the previous winners: Dreamafter (2007), jj137 (2008), Durova (2009) and Sturmvogel_66 (2010). The final standings were as follows:

  1. Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions)
  2. Australia Sp33dyphil (submissions)
  3. Greece Yellow Evan (submissions)
  4. Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions)
  5. Ohio Wizardman (submissions)
  6. Scotland Casliber (submissions)
  7. Canada Resolute (submissions)
  8. Russia PresN (submissions)

Prizes for first, second, third and fourth will be awarded, as will prizes for all those who reached the final eight. Every participant who scored in the competition will receive a ribbon of participation. In addition to the prizes based on placement, the following special prizes will be awarded based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, the prize is awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round.

No prize was awarded for featured pictures, sounds or portals, as none were claimed throughout the competition. The awards will be handed out over the next few days. Congratulations to all our participants, and especially our winners; we've all had fun, and Wikipedia has benefitted massively from our content work.

Preparation for next year's WikiCup is ongoing. Interested parties are invited to sign up and participate in our straw polls. It's been a pleasure to work with you all this year, and, whoever's taking part in and running the competition in 2012, we hope to see you all in January! I will sort LOVE? out as my first major project. It started out so well! Nice to see you all too. I've missed our conversations and all the articles we've worked on. Been really busy at work but that's starting to tail off now. Just hear Riri's new album. Majordisappointment.com though i love "Farewell", "Talk that Talk", "We Found Love" and "Drunk on Love". WikiCup 2012 January newsletter

WikiCup 2012 is off to a flying start. At the time of writing, we have 112 contestants; comparable to last year, but slightly fewer than 2010. Signups will remain open for another week, after which time they will be closed for this year. Our currrent far-away leader is Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), due mostly to his work on a slew of good articles about The X-Files; there remain many such articles waiting to be reviewed at good article candidates. Second place is currently held by Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions), whose points come mostly from good articles about television episodes, although good article reviews, did you knows and an article about a baroness round out the score. In third place is Mauritius Jivesh boodhun (submissions), who has scored 200 points for his work on a single featured article, as well as points for work on others, mostly in the area of pop music. In all, nine users have 100 or more points. However, at the other end of the scale, there are still dozens of participants who are yet to score. Please remember to update your submission pages promptly!

The 64 highest scoring participants will advance to round 2 in a month's time. There, they will be split into eight random groups of eight. The score needed to reach the next round is not at all clear; last year, 8 points guaranteed a place. The year before, 20.

A few participants and their work warrant a mention for achieving "firsts" in this competition.

  • Florida 12george1 (submissions) was the first to score, with his good article review of Illinois v. McArthur.
  • Florida 12george1 (submissions) was also the first to score points for an article, thanks to his work on Hurricane Debby (1982)- now a good article. Tropical storms have featured heavily in the Cup, and good articles currently have a relatively fast turnaround time for reviews.
  • Russia Sp33dyphil (submissions) was the first to score points for a did you know, with Russian submarine K-114 Tula. Military history is another subject which has seen a lot of Cup activity.
  • Russia Sp33dyphil (submissions) is also the first person to successfully claim bonus points. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is now a good article, and was eligible for bonus points because the subject was covered on more than 20 other Wikipedias at the start of the competition. It is fantastic to see bonus points being claimed so early!
  • Byzantine Empire Speciate (submissions) was the first to score points for an In the News entry, with Paedophryne amauensis. The lead image from the article was also used on the main page for a time, and it's certainly eye-catching!
  • Mauritius Jivesh boodhun (submissions) was the first to score points for a featured article, and is, at the moment, the only competitor to claim for one. The article, "Halo" (Beyoncé Knowles song), was also worth double points because of its wide coverage. While this is an article that Jivesh and others have worked on for some time, it is undeniable that he has put considerable work into it this year, pushing it over the edge.

We are yet to see any featured lists, featured topics or good topics, but this is unsurprising; firstly, the nomination processes with each of these can take some time, and, secondly, it can take a considerable amount of time to work content to this level. In a similar vein, we have seen only one featured article. The requirement that content must have been worked on this year to be eligible means that we did not expect to see these at the start of the competition. No points have been claimed for featured portals or pictures, but these are not content types which are often claimed; the former has never made a big impact on the WikiCup, while the latter has not done so since 2009's competition.

A quick rules clarification before the regular notices: If you are concerned that another user is claiming points inappropriately, please contact a judge to take a look at the article. Competitors policing one another can create a bad atmosphere, and may lead to inconsistencies and mistakes. Rest assured that we, the judges, are making an effort to check submissions, but it is possible that we will miss something. On a loosely related note: If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Good luck! WikiCup 2012 February newsletter

Round 1 is already over! The 64 highest scorers have progressed to round 2. Our highest scorer was Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), again thanks mostly to a swathe of good articles on The X-Files. In second place was United Kingdom Tigerboy1966 (submissions), thanks an impressive list of did you knows about racehorses. Both scored over 400 points. Following behind with over 300 points were Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions), Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions), Wisconsin Miyagawa (submissions) and Scotland Casliber (submissions). February also saw the competition's first featured list: List of colleges and universities in North Dakota, from Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions). At the other end of the scale, 11 points was enough to secure a place in this round, and some contestants with 10 points made it into the round on a tiebreaker. This is higher than the 8 points that were needed last year, but lower than the 20 points required the year before. The number of points required to progress to round 3 will be significantly higher.

The remaining contestants have been split into 8 pools of 8, named A through H. Round two will finish in two months time on 28 April, when the two highest scorers in each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers, will progress to round 3. The pools were entirely random, so while some pools may end up being more competitive than others, this is by chance rather than design.

The judges would like to point out two quick rules reminders. First, any content promoted during the interim period (that is, on or after 27 February) is eligible for points in round 2. Second, any content worked on significantly this year is eligible for points if promoted in this round. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which would otherwise be caused by the Cup. WikiCup 2012 March newsletter

We are over half way through the second round of this year's WikiCup and things are going well! Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), of Pool B, is our highest overall scorer thanks to his prolific writings on television and film. In second place is Pool H's Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions), thanks primarily to work on biological articles, especially in marine biology and herpetology. Third place goes to Pool E's Scotland Casliber (submissions), who also writes primarily on biology (including ornithology and botany) and has already submitted two featured articles this round. Of the 63 contestants remaining, 15 (just under a quarter) have over 100 points this round. However, 25 are yet to score. Please remember to update your submission pages promptly. 32 contestants, the top two from each pool and the 16 next-highest scorers, will advance to round 3.

Congratulations to Vanuatu Matthewedwards (submissions), whose impressive File:Wacht am Rhein map (Opaque).svg became the competition's first featured picture. Also, congratulations to Florida 12george1 (submissions), who claimed good topic points, our first contestant this year to do so, for his work on Wikipedia:Featured topics/1982 Atlantic hurricane season. This leaves featured topics and featured portals as the only sources of points not yet utilised. However, as recent statistics from Wisconsin Miyagawa (submissions) show, no source has yet been utilised this competition to the same extent it has been previously!

It has been observed that the backlogs at good article candidates are building up again. While the points for good article reviews will be remaining constant, any help that can be offered keeping the backlog down would be appreciated. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. WikiCup 2012 April newsletter

Round 2 of this year's WikiCup is over, and so we are down to our final 32, in what could be called our quarter-finals. The two highest scorers from each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers overall, have entered round 3, while 30 participants have been eliminated. Pool B's Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions) remains our top scorer with over 700 points; he continues to gain high numbers of points for his good articles on The X-Files, but also Millennium and other subjects. He has also gained points for a good topic, a featured list, multiple good article reviews and several did you knows. Pool E's Scotland Casliber (submissions) was second, thanks primarily to his biology articles, with Pool H's New York City Muboshgu (submissions) coming in third, with an impressive 46 did you knows, mostly on the subject of baseball. Casliber and Cwmhiraeth both scored over 600 points. Pools E and H proved our most successful, with each seeing 5 members qualify for round 3, while Pools C and D were the least, with each seeing only 3 reach round 3. However, it was Pool G which saw the lowest scoring, with a little under 400 points combined; Pool H, the highest scoring group, saw over triple that score.

65 points was the lowest qualifying score for round 3; significantly higher than the 11 required to enter round 2, and also higher than the 41 required to reach round 3 last year. However, in 2010, 100 points were needed to secure a place in round 3. 16 will progress to round 4. In round 3, 150 points was the 16th highest score, though, statistically, people tend to up their game a little in later rounds. Last year, 76 points secured a place, while in 2010, a massive 250 points were needed. Guessing how many points will be required is not easy. We still have not seen any featured portals or topics this year, but, on the subject of less common content types, a small correction needs to be made to the previous newsletter: File:Wacht am Rhein map (Opaque).svg, our first featured picture, was the work of both Vanuatu Matthewedwards (submissions) and United Kingdom Grandiose (submissions), the latter of whom has also gone on to score with File:Map of the Battle of Guam, 1944.svg. Bonus points also continue to roll in; this round, England Ealdgyth (submissions) earned triple points for her good articles on William the Conqueror and the Middle Ages, Casliber and Cwmhiraeth both earned triple points for their work on Western Jackdaw, now a good article, Michigan Dana Boomer (submissions) earned triple points for her work on lettuce and work by Bavaria Stone (submissions) to ready antimony for good article status earned him triple points. United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) managed to expand Vitus Bering far enough for a did you know, which was also worth triple points. All of these highly important topics featured on 50 or more Wikipedias at the start of the year.

An article on the WikiCup in the Wikimedia Blog, "Improving Wikipedia with friendly competition", was posted at the end of April. This may be of interest to those who are signed up to this newsletter, as well as serving as another way to draw attention to our project. Also, we would again like to thank United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) and Bavaria Stone (submissions), for continued help behind the scenes. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! WikiCup 2012 May newsletter

We're halfway through round 3 (or the quarter finals, if you prefer) and things are running smoothly. We're seeing very high scoring; as of the time of writing, the top 16 all have over 90 points. This has already proved to be more competative than this time last year- in 2011, 76 points secured a place, while in 2010, a massive 250 was the lowest qualifying score. People have also upped their game slightly from last round, which is to be expected as we approach the end of the competition. Leading Pool A is Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions), whose points have mostly come from a large number of did you knows on marine biology. Pool B's leader, Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), is for the first time not our highest scorer at the time of newsletter publication, but his good articles on The X-Files and Millenium keep him in second place overall. Wisconsin Miyagawa (submissions) leads Pool C, our quietest pool, with content in a variety of areas on a variety of topics. Pool D is led by Scotland Casliber (submissions), our current overall leader. Nearly half of Casliber's points come from his triple-scored Western Jackdaw, which is now a featured article.

This round has seen an unusually high number of featured lists, with nearly one in five remaining participants claiming one, and one user, New York City Muboshgu (submissions), claiming two. Miyagawa's featured list, 1936 Summer Olympics medal table, was even awarded double points. By comparison, good article reviews seem to be playing a smaller part, and featured topics portals remain two content-types still unutilised in this competition. Other than that, there isn't much to say! Things are coming along smoothly. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! WikiCup 2012 June newsletter

Apologies for the lateness of this letter; our usual bot wasn't working. We are now entering round 4, our semi-finals, and have our final 16. A score of 243 was required to reach this round; significantly more than 2011's 76 points, and only a little behind 2010's 250 points. By comparison, last year, 150 points in round 4 secured a place in the final; in 2010, 430 were needed. Commiserations to Pool A's Minas Gerais igordebraga (submissions), who scored 242 points, missing out on a place in the round by a whisker. However, congratulations to Pool B's Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), whose television articles have brought him another round victory. Pool A's Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came second overall, with an impressive list of biological did you knows, good articles and featured articles. Third overall was Pool D's New York City Muboshgu (submissions), with a long list of contibutions, mostly relating to baseball. Of course, with the points resetting every round, the playing field has been levelled. The most successful Pool was Pool D, which saw seven into the final round. Pool B saw four, C saw three and Pool A saw only the two round leaders.

A quick note about other competitions taking place on Wikipedia which may be of interest. There are 13 days remaining in the June-July GAN backlog elimination drive, but it is not too late to take part. August will also see the return of The Core Contest- a one month long competition first run in 2007. While the WikiCup awards points for audited content on any subject, The Core Contest about is raw article improvement, focussing heavily on the most important articles on Wikipedia. Good luck! WikiCup 2012 July newsletter

We're approaching the beginning of 2012's final round. Pool A sees Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) as the leader, with 300 points being awarded for the featured article Bivalvia, and Pool B sees Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions) in the lead, with 10 good articles, and over 35 articles eligible for good topic points. Pool A sees New York City Muboshgu (submissions) in second place with a number of articles relating to baseball, while Pool B's Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions) follows Grapple X, with a variety of contributions including the high-scoring, high-importance featured article on the 2010 film Pride & Prejudice. Ruby2010, like Grapple X, also claimed a number of good topic points; despite this, not a single point has been claimed for featured topics in the contest so far. The same is true for featured portals.

Currently, the eighth-place competitor (and so the lowest scorer who would reach the final round right now) has scored 332, more than double the 150 needed to reach the final round last year. In 2010, however, 430 was the lowest qualifying score. In this competition, we have generally seen scores closer to those in 2010 than those in 2011. Let's see what kind of benchmark we can set for future competitions! As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Speechless

Ok, sorry, Im from the US, and here usually when songs only go to iTunes there promo, (like a countdown) and the official ones go to radio, so it was def promo in the US. But I failed to take into consideration international practices of single releases, so Im sorry for that. Is the way that the article can say that it received a promotional digital release, while it was released as the second single in international markets? Her label needs to get it together, the same thing happened to "Work" --TheCountdown (talk) 23:46, 2 August 2012 (UTC) ?

  • It was not sent to radio or CD single, looking back at the "Like a Surgeon" talk page, in the section regarding "Go Girl", you yourself said that labels and media misinform, No?--TheCountdown (talk) 17:16, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
    • "1+1" as well as Gaga's "Hair" and Katy Perry and BoB promos were released digitally worldwide, but are called PROMOS. Plus instead of focussing on the negative (3RR - which I can't have because I'm reverting different users( who all seem to believe that same thing?) and trying to falsely accuse me of sockpuppety, try talking to me like ou doing here. Trying to get someone blocked because they have a different opinion from you does nothing to help wikipedia, it only harms it, but speaking of talk, did you read what I wrote about Like a Surgeon on your page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheCountdown (talkcontribs) 17:27, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Woman to Woman

Please don't DELETE any content on the wikipedia page Woman to Woman (Keyshia Cole album) without any sources that say what I've posted is wrong. My track listing come from record executives and Keyshia herself. I've worked very hard on this, and I feel vandalized when you erase my work. Thank you! Manuel Mexico (talk) 11:05, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

I've rewritten this article the way that it is SUPPOSED to be. Although fine the way it was with sources where NECESSARY, I've added more. I can't tell you how much it means that you have tried to help the article. However, I think writers of the article should be very limited as the state of the album is still growing! When it is released and chart data, reviews, etc. come in, that would be the time in which users should collaborate to build the album. However, the buzz is surrounding the composition, and I know everything there is to know about the subject. Thank you once again! Manuel Mexico (talk) 17:45, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

I've tried to be clear and concise about this. However, it seems as though you just want the article to be written your way. The way I wrote it was flawless. The Meek Mill source WAS cited as a source. All of the information you put at the top of the page was unnecessary. I've been editing this site for FIVE YEARS. Not only have I've been editing. I've been creating pages from scratch. I know how to compose an article, and I don't believe you're doing it correctly. Where is a Trey Songz collaboration cited? I could have sworn that in the business meeting I attended that NO Trey Songz collaboration was included in Woman to Woman. Adding collaborations and writers to the tracklist isn't necessary until a FULL, CONFIRMED tracklist has been released. You've only reverted the article to your version with even more unnecessary information after I've tried very hard to be rational including most of your edits into my revision. You said yourself that Wikipedia is a collaboration. You've only rewritten the article. Thank you for all your edits, and I will provide a final revision including all of your necessary information the way YOU SAY it's supposed to be. Thank you!
