This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppet of Lewismc2000 (talk · contribs · global contribs · page moves · user creation · block log) that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sock puppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. Request reason:
I created this account to be able to fix short grammar mistakes. LewisMCYoutube is actually my Minecraft nickname (as Lewis is my real name). I have no idea who he/she is. LewisMCYoutube (talk) 18:31, 10 April 2015 (UTC) - See the edits below --LewisMCYoutube (talk) 10:09, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Huon (talk) 18:42, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Do you want to explain this edit, how you even found that user (who was blocked in 2012), and why you thought it was a good idea?
You can say that it would not be very wise of a sockpuppet to go and edit pages of their own old accounts, but I've seen people do that just recently. I have no idea why they do that, but apparently it happens.
Also your edits to the article Evil were not very helpful. There's an obvious difference between immorality and immortality. You could have been genuinely confused, or you could have been trolling. I don't know. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:55, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
- 1) I found the user while searching for my own user page - I had no idea why it was a bad idea - After looking at the contributions, ask yourself a question. Do I really go around redirecting pages?
- 2) Exactly.
- 3) Exactly. I was editing this because there was a spelling mistake in the word immortality, meaning eternal or infinite life (which is what I am pretty sure it is supposed to say). — Preceding unsigned comment added by LewisMCYoutube (talk • contribs)
- First of all: don't edit other people's comments like you just did here. That includes not inserting your comments inside other people's posts. In the end result it is not visible anymore who said what. Just put your comments below others' posts and then sign it with your signature. (Here I separated your comments from my original post, and signed it for you.)
- Okay, it's somewhat believable that you found that user by trying to search your own name. Still it seemed really unnecessary and trollish to give someone a "trophy" for being blocked.
- No, it's not a spelling mistake. Like I said, immorality and immortality are two different things, and the Evil article was taking about immorality i.e. lack of morality. You've heard about "morals" before, right? Anyway, it's believable that you were just trying to help. I suggest using the {{unblock}} thing again (below these posts here) so an admin can come and have a look again. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 11:44, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- 1) Here. I'm formatting properly. Happy?
- 2) I never thought of that.
- 3) That doesn't make a bit of sense.
- 3.1) You: You've heard about "morals" before, right?
- 3.2) Me: Nope!
- 4) Seriously... check my IP.
- 2) I never thought of that.

Benefit of the doubt
Having taken another look, I'm inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt - it's conceivable that you've simply been a bit careless, rather than deliberately disruptive. I'm unblocking this account under WP:ROPE; if you edit in a sensible manner from hereon in, you shouldn't have any further problems. Yunshui 雲水 20:25, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Staying safe on Wikipedia
Hi Lewis. If what you wrote on your userpage is true (it's the section that I removed and I've hidden it in the edit history of that page) then please be very wary of what you post here. Whilst Wikipedia is largely a safe place for younger editors, it is not advisable to advertise your name, age, contact details or location anywhere online, especially not on one of the world's largest websites. I see you're working through the Wikipedia Adventure - hope you're enjoying it! - but when you've finished, you might want to have a read of this advice page before continuing. All the best, Yunshui 雲水 11:26, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I just put everything on there the Wikipedia Adventure told me to put on there (everything you are telling me not to put on there) --LewisMCYoutube (talk) 11:28, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I'll have a word with the guys that run the Adventure, then - whilst your userpage is a place you can write about yourself, it's important to be cautious in what you reveal. Don't worry; you haven't done anything wrong! Yunshui 雲水 11:31, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I've played through the Adventure and it did definitely not tell me to put up personal details. It just asked me to introduce myself or something like that. That's not the same thing. I would really recommend staying safe and not putting up info that other people really don't need to know. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 11:34, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- The box on lesson one said that you may want to put up your reason for joining, location, and education, and a few other things.
- Emphasis on may. For an old fogey like me, sticking my real name and where I live on Wikipedia wouldn't be too big a deal (and despite that, I'm still extremely careful about staying anonymous). For younger editors, it's important to avoid posting too much personal information - by all means tell us what you like, what you're interested in and so on, but be careful not to give away anything that might allow someone to find you in real life. Yunshui 雲水 11:44, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see why someone would knock down on every door in {{Insert City Here}}, but whatever. There is also Template:Location Map and Wikipedia:Userboxes/Cities to show your location.

Speedy deletion nomination of Pscychology
Hello LewisMCYoutube,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Pscychology for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Talk:Main Page, even if you intend to fix them later. - My apologies, but your nomination appeared to be nominating the first archive of Talk:Main Page, which is not an article. Organics talk 13:05, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)The main page cannot be a FAC as it contains no content, it's a portal for the various sections that appear on it, including Today's featured article. In the last hour all your edits have been bordering on disruptive. For someone who was blocked and subsequently unblocked after being given the benefit of the doubt, your actions are sailing close to the wind of getting reblocked. - Dan, that may well have been a part of the Wikipedia Adventure. I'm not entirely in the know about it, but I do recall past discussions on the Village Pump of it causing your own account to post messages to your talk page in the guise of other users, in order to simulate interaction with others as part of the adventure itself. User:GaiaGirl86 would seem to confirm so. Organics talk 13:17, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Organics: I was going to apologize to Lewis for my suspicions, but I see that his unorthodox editing following his recent unblock have gotten him reblocked. But I'll remember to keep the whole TWA thing in mind in the future. (It seems odd that the Wikipedia training program would cause user edits to be signed by another user. There has to be a better way. A topic for the Village Pump, I suppose.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:59, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- It's a fictional user created for the express purpose of being used in TWA, also the edit summaries always say something like "new message simulated by The Wikipedia Adventure" plus those messages are only intended to be posted on 'secret' subpages in the user's userspace. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 15:05, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hello. I was blocked about 5 years ago for disruptive editing. I do not deny that I made disruptive edits to the site, though they were not out of malice. Before the disruptive editing block, I was banned as a suspected sockpuppet of a user named Lewismc2000. The only evidence I can provide that I am not and was not a sockpuppet is that I have used the username LewisMCYoutube actively since 2015, for example on my reddit account of the same name. I was hoping that you would be willing to forgive me. I have matured both physically and mentally over the past five years, and I swear that if I am unblocked I will only make edits that I am sure will be helpful to this encyclopedia. However, I do have something I must admit. Both today and yesterday I made an edit to the "Josh Pieters" article. Upon a reading of the rules, it is my understanding that I violated the rule against ban evasion by doing this. I understand why my appeal might be denied based on this, but I hope you understand that I was only adding new information to the article and not acting disruptively. Thank you. This edition of the Editing newsletter includes information the Wikipedia:Talk pages project, an effort to help contributors communicate on wiki more easily. The central project page is on MediaWiki.org.
- Reply tool: This is available as a Beta Feature at the four partner wikis (Arabic, Dutch, French, and Hungarian Wikipedias). The Beta Feature will get new features soon. The new features include writing comments in a new visual editing mode and pinging other users by typing
@
. You can test the new features on the Beta Cluster. Some other wikis will have a chance to try the Beta Feature in the coming months. - New requirements for user signatures: Soon, users will not be able to save invalid custom signatures in Special:Preferences. This will reduce signature spoofing, prevent page corruption, and make new talk page tools more reliable. Most editors will not be affected.
- New discussion tool: The Editing team is beginning work on a simpler process for starting new discussions. You can see the initial design on the project page.
- Research on the use of talk pages: The Editing team worked with the Wikimedia research team to study how talk pages help editors improve articles. We learned that new editors who use talk pages make more edits to the main namespace than new editors who don't use talk pages.

Cite Unseen update
Hello! Thank you for using Cite Unseen. The script recently received a significant update, detailed below.
- You can now toggle which icons you do or don't want to see. See the configuration section for details. All icons are enabled by default except for the new generally reliable icon (described below).
- New categorizations/icons:
- Advocacy: Organizations that are engaged in advocacy (anything from political to civil rights to lobbying). Note that an advocacy group can be reliable; this indicator simply serves to note when a source's primary purpose is to advocate for certain positions or policies, which is important to keep in mind when consuming a source.
- Editable: Sites that are editable by the public, such as wikis (Wikipedia, Fandom) or some databases (IMDb, Discogs).
- Predatory journals: These sites charge publication fees to authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy.
- Perennial source categories: Cite Unseen will mark sources as generally reliable, marginally reliable, generally unreliable, deprecated, and blacklisted. This is based on Wikipedia's perennial sources list, which reflects community consensus on frequently discussed sources. Sources that have multiple categorizations are marked as varied reliability. Note that generally reliable icons are disabled by default to reduce clutter, but you can enable them through your custom config. A special thanks to Newslinger, whose new Sourceror API provides the perennial sources list in a clean, structured format.
- With the addition of the new categorizations, the biased source icon has been removed. This category was very broad, and repetitive to the new advocacy and perennial sources categorizations that are more informative.
If you have any feedback, requested features, or domains to add/remove, don't hesitate to bring it up on the script's talk page. Thank you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:28, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
