While I'm quitely agree with the migration of the Pakistani peoples to other Commonwealth countries during the British period. It is wrong to said the Samma are similar with the Sama-Bajau peoples of the Philippines. Even their ethnic name is similar, they are identified as a non related ethnic groups. The Samal people in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia is originally came from the Philippines Archipelago and like the Sea Bajaus they spend most of their lives in the sea. I give you an example of the Romani people and see the note at the top of the article, they are not related to the Romanians of Romania even though the name is very identical. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 06:44, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Jogi don, it appears that you have, finally, removed the copyvio per your edits here. Thank you, however, you should have done that far earlier, and you should have made sure no copyvio existed when you created the page. Such an edit should also not be marked 'minor'. You were then allowed to remove the COPYVIO message, but not justified in also removing valid maintenance templates, as you did here. I have restored those templates. (You also gave no reason for that edit). There are still no Inline citations in the text. I had a look at the sources and they do not look reliable. "Our Lovely Sindh" [1] for example is a blog which also looks like it may have been copied from Wikipedia!   • The Hussainabad page is supposed to be a wp:disambiguation page as therea are many pages about places with a similar or similar sounding name,
  • An edit summary of "Hussainabad is the town of Khairpur,Sindh" does not tell anyone why you reverted to the incorrect page.
  • If there is no page about a place called Hussainabad, Sindh or Hussainabad, Khairpur the proper course is to create a new page, not 'hijack' another page as has happened here, which I realise was done by another editor.

I have copied your reply here to keep the discussion in one place. Unfortunately, I am not sure what you are saying. You have already told me that "Hussainabad is the town of Khairpur,Sindh". So what? That is irrelevant
  • You have also not provided any sources. Wikipedia (WP) requires sources for wp:VERIFIABILITY. Anything that is not verifiable can be removed! Therefore I can also revert that page as it is unverified. (A dab page does not require sources)
  • Have you understood that it is an incorrect edit for a page that has existed for nearly 9 years as a disambiguation page, to be 'hijacked' for another purpose? See the edit here from about six months ago where Shujaat Laghari (talk · contribs) changed the page, which they should not have done, but they only have 3 edits, so didn't know. I have explained this in my edit summary and you have more more edits than Shujaat Laghari so you should understand.
  • If an experienced editor, such as Materialscientist (actually a very highly experienced editor and Admin) reverts you, it is almost certainly for a good reason. I strongly suggest you not blindly revert when your edits are reverted, ask yourself why? Read any messages that editor sends you. Read the edit sumnmaries, which should also explain. If not, politely ask the editor about it. This is also known as the wp:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle (WP:BRD).

Just a little more advice, when you receive a message like this it means that you have placed a link on a page to a Disambiguation (Dab) page. That means the link is likely not going to where you want it to. Like 'Shikarpur' which can be several things, a city, or district in Pakistan, or a city, town or village in India! Note that the message came from DPL bot a 'Bot', a computer program, not a person. But, you are supposed to do something about it.

I have gone through the message and tried to fix the problems it found (it took me about 2 hours, thought I fixed other problems I found at the same time!) This won't be necessary if you check the links when you make them. Satush have done blunders and you are defending him. he have done blunders to Samma tribe and Rajpar articles. If you are making wikipedia a reliable source of information so please don't remove historical information of particular geographical things,places,peoples. I belong to Sindh and Pakistan, where Samma_tribe ruled. see Samma_dunasty. So I know better the history of my region more than anybody else. here its requested to refrain from removing the content of Samma tribe. give Sammat or Samma tribe article its previous staus of contents. thanks. Hello Jogi don. I am not defending anyone, I am only defending Wikipedia's policy of reliable sources commonly known by the abbreviation WP:RS. If there are no sources for your information other than yourself you might as well forget about adding it to Wikipedia. Here, information is only added once it has appeared in reliable sources. Google searches are not reliable sources. Facebook is not a reliable source. Your personal knowledge does not count unless it is published and accepted by academic reviewers. You need specific, academically accepted sources with page numbers and ISBNs etc. In any case, Sitush is an expert on reliable sources. Instead of edit-warring against him, perhaps you should try to find some specific reliable sources and discuss them with him. This is the best practice I can advise you to follow at this time. Good , if Satush is an expert on reliable sources, then why he can't find the information about Samma tribe,Samma dynasty. He have removed previous content of Samma_tribe, is this [[6]] not reliable, if it was not reliable so they should have not put such information.If they put information then why it can't be on Wikipedia. I again repeat that Satush have done blunder by removing reverting the previous contents of Samma tribe. If you don't believe me, then go to the history/previous status of Samma tribe article of Wikipedia, before my edits. I just reproduced the contents of Samma tribe, which Satush removed. why he removed , ask him, is he a historian? does he belong to Sindh and know well the History of Sindh,Indian subcontinent and presend day Balochistan,Punjab, Rajhastan India. www.jatland.com is indeed not a reliable source. I don't think you are reading my replies very carefully. Remember I told you about ISBNs, academic sources, academic reviewers etc? Jatland is none of the above. Please realise that sources like Jatland are worthless on Wikipedia. If you can find some papers published by academics who are recognised worldwide and respected by their peers then you would be able to add information on Wikipedia. The message on your link says the article has been removed. In any case, the website does not look reliable to me either. Again, Sitush is an experienced and knowledgeable user on Wikipedia. Sure, Jatland may not be reliable for you, And I don't know any ISBN on Samma Tribe , you should yourself research about the old history of Sindh,Indian Subcontinent there are many ISBN, books written on such topics surely you will get the information. I can't force you to believe me. But you should be aware that instead of insulting people about "apples in their eyes", "dearest users", "blunders" and other such crap, you should try to communicate with them. Jogi don, the situation has been explained to you by Dr.K./πράξις with remarkable patience. One of my several failings is a tendency to be impatient when people repeatedly fail to understand something. You should therefore be grateful that you have been dealing more with Dr.K. than with me. I do think it is time for you to move on regarding this article. You either find some genuinely reliable sources of the general type that have been suggested above or you drop the stick. The more you persist in a line of argument that you are never going to win, the more likely it is that you will find yourself in trouble here. Material can remain unsourced or poorly sourced for some time, or even for a long time. But, once detected, the material may be removed by anyone simply on the basis that the sources are either unreliable or non-existent. This is one of the rules that are widely accepted on Wikipedia. Personal attestations that the material is valid or correct do not count. There is a noticeboard where you can get more information about the reliability of your sources. If other books copy from Wikipedia we cannot use them as reference because it would be like we are using ourselves as references. In effect this would mean that we produce whatever fact we want and then use ourselves as reference to validate it. Nobody in their right mind would believe Wikipedia if that were the case and the whole project would fall into disrepute if such practices were allowed to stand. The reason the project has a good reputation is that it does not allow self-referencing for publishing facts. This is also the reason that unreferenced facts are removed. I get the impression that no matter how many times people explain to you why and how reliable sources are used on Wikipedia you seem not to accept or understand anything that is being told to you. I'm not sure if this is due to a language barrier or something else but this discussion is a waste of time. This is not very constructive. I think you should know the answer by now but I will spell it out for the last time in the remote chance it registers. Unless you can come up with a source that is reliable as described multiple times to you by now the answer is no. Your personal word or knowledge is not sufficient to satisfy the criteria set by WP:RS. You must find a reliable source by a recognised expert on the subject of the tribe otherwise the article about the tribe will remain in the state it is now. As far as a Wikipedian being appointed to do research on the tribe, this is not the way things work on Wikipedia. Nobody appoints anyone. No guarantees can be given to you that anyone will bother to do any research on this topic. Now if you come up with another question similar to the one you just asked, or any other comment indicating lack of understanding of the concept of reliable sources I will not reply further. Rsrikanth05 I had added Sindhi language name for Ulhasnagar because Ulhasnagar is area of Sindhi hindus who migrated from Sindh to India after Partition of Sub-continent. So what is wrong to insert its name in Sindhi language script.?. In every Wikipedia article its written articles names in non-English more than other languages, if its so that you have mentioned above , so it should also be applied everywhere in Wikipedia. The burden is on the person who adds information to ensure that it complies with such basic requirements as WP:V and WP:RS. It isn't my responsibility to find sources for you, although given enough time I might try. The links you have just given me are useless: one is a discussion forum and the other is, well, just something written by someone on the web - we do not know who it was and their sources are mostly of the type that we reject here. it is not my responsibility to search proofs for allegations made by you (its yours), nor is it my responsibility to prove your allegations wrong; until and unless you present authentic sources your edits on the discussed page are void and I will revert them. Proof that you present your opinions on Wikipedia are your edits on page JSQM. You have written that JSQM is the only guardian of Sindh's national interests (I agree to some extent to that view point, but it is still view point and not fact). Later on the same page you have written that Shaheed Bashir Khan was poisoned by establishment. I firmly believe that he was poisoned by them, but according to Wikipedia standards this is not a fact as has not been proved without doubt so you can write it as "He was allegedly poisoned by establishment, forensic report was never made public etc.". Your number of edits is awesome, I appreciate your efforts to improve Wikipedia, especially Sindh related articles, but please remain neutral while editing and cite credible sources. If it hasn't been created, you can create it, it will basically have the same markup as the one used here. Since it is the Sindhi Wikipedia, I am assuming the names of templates might be in Sindhi. If you can confirm that the file was created by you and is not taken from elsewhere, sure I can take a look at it. Just be careful with the copyrights issues as they are taken seriously. Regarding the block, I believe there is the option of appealing or perhaps asking for getting it reduced but the copyright violations will need to be sorted for that. The article was not deleted. It was moved by somebody to your sub page at User:Jogi don/Hidaya Foundation. I've had a look at it and searched for sources per WP:RS, and WP:V. The problem is, there aren't any. Problems

  • On September 29 users' skin preferences were removed by mistake on small and medium-sized wikis. This changed preferences back to Vector. Restoring all data would cause even more problems. Affected users who want to have their preference changed back globally can ask for it as a comment on Phabricator task T119206 until December 21 2015. [21]
  • Some scheduled tasks were not working properly from September to recently. This meant some pages in the special pages namespace were not updated. It has now been fixed. [22]

Problems

  • Sites with a wikimedia.org address were by mistake redirected to the Wikimedia Foundation wiki on 26 January. This included Meta and Wikimedia Commons. The mistake was fixed after an hour. [63]
  • Some users had problems logging in and out around 22 January. Bots also had problems and edit previews did not work properly. This was because of problems related to the new component SessionManager. It was undone on 23 January. [64][65]
  • Because of new problems with SessionManager the latest version of MediaWiki was removed from the Wikimedia wikis again on 31 January. The new version this week will be without SessionManager. [66]

Changes this week

  • The page history will get a help link. This will go to Help:Page history on Meta. Wikis can exchange it for a link to their local pages. [67]
  • Notifications will only show part of a page name if it is very long. You will also have another way to mark notifications as read. [68][69]
  • The Universal Language Selector input methods are now available with the visual editor. This means many who write in non-Latin scripts can now use the visual editor. [70]
  • The visual editor will now give you more tools to edit tables. You can move rows and columns in a table and copy parts of tables to make new ones. You can also copy and paste more than one cell at the same time. [71][72][73]
  • The visual editor has a new warning message when you leave a page you are editing without saving. Non-English wikis might need to translate it. [74][75]

  • The Capiunto extension is installed on test wiki. Capiunto provides flexible infobox functionality for Scribunto and generates HTML for infobox features such as headers and rows. It is designed for clean and modern infoboxes that are driven by data from Wikidata, easily usable across different language versions, and easily extensible.
  • The visual editor now follows the TemplateData format setting announced in November. When you edit or add a use of a template, the wikitext will be laid out in one of the two ways. [100][101]
  • The order of parameters and format defined in a template's TemplateData will be now respected. [102][103]

  • Bare attributes in tags now parse according to the HTML5 specifications. <pages from= to= section=1> will parse as <pages from="to=" section="1"> instead of <pages from="" to="" section="1"> as it used to. Please use <pages from="" to="" section=1> or <pages section=1> instead. This is mostly likely to affect pages on Wikisource projects. [112]

Problems

  • Phabricator has been a bit unstable lately. This should be fixed now. [113]
  • The PageView API shows wrong data between 23 February and 29 February for pages with special characters in their title. [114]
  • The parsing change mentioned above caused a large number of pages to break, especially on Wikisource. [115]
  • You may see falsely formatted edit links on both mobile and desktop devices. Mobile devices can also show incorrect formatted table of contents. This should be fixed soon. [116]
  • Templates using TemplateData that were edited with the visual editor might have some problems in wikitext mode. This can be fixed by editing and saving the page by using the visual editor without making any changes. [117]

  • Wikimedia has a new backup data center in Dallas. Because of planned work on this, you will be able to read but not edit the wikis for a short period of time on both 22 March and 24 March. This could be postponed to April 18. You might lose edits if you try to save during this time. Because of a test, there will also be a couple of minutes where you can't edit the wikis on 15 March starting 07:00 UTC. You can read more about the server work. There will be more notifications and updates about this.
  • Administrators and other users with advanced permissions will need to have an 8-byte long passwords. This change takes place on 15 March. Users with too short passwords will be asked to change password the next time they log in. This was decided in a discussion on Meta and is because they can use tools that can hurt the wikis. [124]

  • Special:Notifications will have "mark as read" buttons for each day. The non-JavaScript version will get it this week. A JavaScript version will come later. [173]
  • Wikis can now locally decide what wikitext they want the signature button to produce. [174]
  • A one-time welcome message for users will now be shown in the wikitext editor. This will include existing users. [175]

  • Using self-closing tags like <div/> and <span/> to mean <div></div> and <span></span> will not work in the future. Templates and pages that use these tags should be fixed. When Phabricator ticket T134423 is fixed these tags will parse as <div> and <span> instead. This is normal in HTML5. [176]

  • There is now a standard way to get the target of a redirect page from a Lua module. [180]

Problems

  • A new way to handle rollback was introduced. It broke some tools and scripts and was reverted. This will be re-planned after review. [181][182]
  • CentralNotice didn't work in some older browsers. This has now been fixed. [183]

Changes this week

  • When you edit a file or category page with the visual editor the rest of the page will be shown in its normal place. [184]
  • The Translate extension will get an edit summary field. [185]
  • A change to the <charinsert> feature could break some user scripts. Contact Bawolff if the "click to insert special characters" links in the edit window break on your wiki. [186][187]
  • Elasticsearch will be upgraded on Wikimedia wikis this week. This should not affect you, but if you have problems with the search function this is probably the reason. [188]
  • The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 31 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 1 June. It will be on all wikis from 2 June (calendar).
