Ivory Group

[edit]

Hi, I'm Girth Summit, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username was the same as that of a digital marketing company based in India. I don't know whether you are aware of our username policy (you can read it here), but it does not allow usernames that are promotional or names that imply shared use. Each account needs to be registered to a specific individual - you can still mention 'Ivory Group' in the name, for example it could be 'Zak at Ivory Group'. You can find out more about changing your username here.

Please also not that, if you are working for a marketing company, and you are currently being paid to write the article in your sandbox, you need to be familiar with our policies around conflicts of interest and paid editing. It is not forbidden, but there are steps that you need to take. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any advice. GirthSummit (blether) 15:34, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Ivory Group, does not meet our username policy.
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Longhair\talk 17:40, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ivory Group, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
