Information icon Hello, I'm SounderBruce. I noticed that you recently removed content from Orange Line (Sound Transit) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. First of all, welcome to Wikipedia. I reverted your edits because they don't quite keep up with the project standards (and you can be forgiven, as there are a ton of them to learn). The Orange Line entry is a Good article, which means it's gone through peer review and has to be strictly maintained to remain in good standing. Generally, we don't need to use citations in the lead if the fact is repeated (and cited) in the body; I have gone ahead and added back the T Line (without the citation) to the lead. The citation you added was also a duplicate to one already in the article, which is something we also try to avoid.

As for the fare issue, it is explained in the cited press release:

In 2013, after ridership had grown to the point that charging fares would generate enough revenue to cover fare collection costs, the Board approved implementing a two-step fare structure for Tacoma Link. The approval included charging $1 fares for adults, $0.75 for youth, and $0.50 for senior and disabled riders starting in September 2014. Fares would have increased to $1.50 for adults and to $0.75 for senior and disabled riders in September 2016. [...] Postponing the change to a $1.50 fare will extend this agreement, keeping Tacoma Link fare free for riders.

Sound Transit deferred the fare introduction as explained and will skip to using the second-stage ($1.50) fare when the Hilltop extension opens in 2022, barring any additional changes. Luckily we can note those changes when the time comes.

Generally, it is not a good idea to re-add content that has been reverted without discussing it on an article talk page or on a relevant user's talkpage as we are doing here. Sometimes it can devolve into edit warring, so be careful if you run into someone who is combative.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave messages here (I'll be watching) or on my user page. Make sure to sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~) or clicking the signature icon on the edit toolbar. SounderBruce 04:20, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
