User talk:Issgroup2
March 2010
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Issgroup2, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears that you may be representing a group or organisation. Apologies if this is not the case. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. BelovedFreak 12:23, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello! We are a group of five library students- we are not representing anyone we hope this is okay- if you need us to change our group name we will be more than happy to comply. Thank you. Issgroup2 (talk) 12:26, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up, it's good that you're not representing a company or anything. Unfortunately though, you can't share an account, that's also not allowed. (See Wikipedia:Username_policy#Sharing_accounts). It's best that four of you create your own accounts, and the last one use this one. You could either change your username (see Wikipedia:Changing username) or maybe leave a short note on your userpage explaining that you started out as a group and are now editing as a single editor. Sorry for any inconvenience, but the account will end up getting blocked otherwise. Regards, --BelovedFreak 12:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Also, I don't know if you are doing this as part of a larger project - for school or something, but if there are other groups doing the same thing, they will also need to create individual accounts. Thanks, --BelovedFreak 12:33, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 21:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)"Google Scholar and academic libraries" listed at Redirects for discussion
