Question about WP:EDITORHOSTILE

I've recently discovered that the problem of "editor-hostile" output from some tools is that they follow the TemplateData "format": "inline" prescription to format everything without spaces. I've asked at mw:Extension talk:TemplateData#Why no spaces in "inline" format? about this, and it seems that changing the current behavior is not feasible, but it might be possible to introduce a new, more user-friendly, format for "long" templates.
