Epiphany
in friendship |
---|
Happy new year, in friendship! - Epiphany seems like a good day to say so, after a Bavarian peasants' mass (sorry, on the train home, no recent pics of that - just keep watching), and two DYK, even with a pic I took. I enjoyed meetings with friends in real life, and wish you many of those. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:56, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Happy new year to you as well my friend @Gerda Arendt! The sparklingly sunlight on fresh snow seems like a very auspicious way to start the year—thank you! Innisfree987 (talk) Innisfree987 (talk) 21:38, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks you! 2022 began happily with vacation. I uploaded images but stopped at 22 January - click on songs. 30 January means 10 years of Precious. It's also the birthday of a friend, - I'm so happy I mentioned his DYK on his 90th birthday when he was still alive. I have a great singer on DYK whom I heard, Elena Guseva, and wait for a Recent death appearance of Georg Christoph Biller whom I saw in action. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:37, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

February songs
frozen |
---|
Today is a feast day for which Bach wrote several cantatas including Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin, BWV 125, which was on DYK 10 years ago and TFA 4 years ago. I'm less happy that Georg Christoph Biller had to wait days for a Main page appearance under recent deaths, and then stayed not even for a full day. It would have been so meaningful today, with the man in the cantata saying he can depart in joy and peace. - The February pic was taken in memory last year. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:00, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
I like my talk today (keeping Biller a bit longer, and even explaining how it works), and managed to picture two more vacation days --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:46, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oh I’m happy Biller had a little longer moment; it’s so difficult when RDs are given short shrift. And thank you for these shimmering images, @Gerda Arendt! Innisfree987 (talk) 01:17, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Today, I decorated my talk with a Bach cantata. I heard it last year when missing RexxS began, and "not letting go" was a theme. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:36, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- my joy - more on my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:57, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

- @Gerda Arendt, thank you so much for sharing these good wishes. How much we can all use them right now. And thank you also for the offer to help me with a TFA! I hope to take you up on that sometime—as you can probably tell from my scant wiki presence, I am quite overextended at the moment but I hope for a time that allows that project! Thank you again. Hello Innisfree,
I trust you're well. This article contains a voice recording of the subject's name. I have tried to replicate it on another article but don't seem to know how it was done.
Can you help me with an explanation or a resource I could read. I'd be most grateful.

Adding product images to Ormonde Jayne wiki page
Hello Innisfree,
I hope you are well. I have tried to add relevant images before to this article but they were removed due to licensing issues.
The images creator (johneselby) has signed up to Wiki Commons and has uploaded the relevant images to be uploaded so that they can be freely used under the Wiki Commons license. The images are:
Ormonde_Jayne_Perfumes_Packaging
Would you be able to advise the next steps for these to be uploaded to the Ormonde Jayne page?
Also, can you advise of the process to get the logo to be licensed so that this can also be used on the Wiki page?
Many Thanks for your help!

Ukraine day today: Maks Levin DYK, expanding Kyiv Symphony Orchestra (have tickets), and creating Anthony Robin Schneider, the bass who could be heard opening the singing in Beethoven's Ninth twice on 10 March 2022, live in Frankfurt, Germany, and recorded in Auckland, New Zealand, singing "Freiheit!" DYK nomination
I nominated the article on Nina Jankowicz at WP:DYKN. I was going to do this a couple days ago but I forgot -- anyway, I named you as a co-writer since, well, you wrote a bunch of it. I figure it'd be something nice to hang on the ol' userpage (if you don't want to be on it, let me know and I'll take you off). Cheers! jp×g 18:32, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

BLP Policy for birthdays
Hello @Innisfree987, you reverted my edit to Ashley Feinberg that added her birthday.
According to WP:DOB, social media posts admitting to one's own birthday are permissible if there is no reason to doubt the source. If you disagree with this policy, a good place to raise this issue would be that talk page.
I have not reverted the edit myself because you outrank me. ForksForks (talk) 01:13, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @ForksForks, first things first, I don’t outrank you! We have the same title, editor. Among all editors, per WP:ONUS, it’s standard not to add back contested material without reaching consensus, so I appreciate your reaching out. As my edit summary noted, I was asking that a source be included with the DOB. I now see that in an unrelated part of the article there’s a citation to a partial DOB. Typically putting the inline reference together with the DOB would be enough—as long as it’s a valid source. My view is that it’s not in the spirit of WP:BLPPRIVACY to cobble together different social media posts to get to a DOB tho. Just one editor’s opinion but I think it should be left out for the time being. Innisfree987 (talk) 11:29, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for this, definitely an interesting topic ForksForks (talk) 16:26, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
Pleasure collaborating as always. Hope things are good with you. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 01:36, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Likewise @AleatoryPonderings! No rush (at all, rest up!) but if bandwidth for both of us allows, it could be fun to make this a GA project. My on-wiki time has dwindled terribly but it’s nice to have a break from other stuff when I can manage. Innisfree987 (talk) 01:46, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I've been editing much more of late but come next week I'm starting a job as an articling student and will almost certainly have zero time or energy left for wiki matters. A GA might not be within my reach, unless I really outdo myself in the next few days ... I'm pleased just to have cleaned up this long-neglected article. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 01:56, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, best wishes with the new job! And of course, don’t worry about the GA; the great improvements to the article are what matters, not the bling! Innisfree987 (talk) 02:13, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi. I added another from soaps.she.knows.com, in addition to one from soaphub.com. How's that? I know that the notability rules say that the number of reliable and independent references doesn't matter, as long as an article has at least two. I'm not going to quarrel over this page. If you plan to nominate it for deletion, let me know and I'll copy the text to another site. Thanks. -- James26 (talk) 18:27, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- @James26, I tagged the article in hopes someone with more knowledge of soap opera coverage would have a look over it, as offhand the only sources I feel confident are reliable are either passing mentions or the subject’s hometown newspaper, which offers limited evidence of notability. I will try to look into the websites, but yes if WP:SIGCOV can’t be established, then it would be more appropriate to host elsewhere. I don’t have a firm opinion on this yet tho, which is why I tagged it rather than sent to AfD. Innisfree987 (talk) 19:31, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
I appreciate that. If you want to try and save the page, it's all yours. I definitely worked hard on it, and didn't mean to violate any guidelines, but if it's got to go, I understand. -- James26 (talk) 20:48, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Innisfree987,
Thanks for improving this article during the AFD discussion. I know that AFD is not clean up but your work really helped. So many articles get deleted every day without much attention given to them at all, it's nice to see when a nomination leads to an improved article. Liz Read! Talk! 08:12, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for this nice note @Liz. I had been feeling discouraged about deletion nominations of wikinotable articles like this one, so I much appreciate the encouragement. Innisfree987 (talk) 00:07, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
re: Sophie Corcoran
First of all, I wanted to thank you for your efforts to help clean up this BLP, as it was quite a mess previously and appears to be in order now. (at minimum not violating any BLP guidelines)
That said, with what is left, I can't help but feel that the subject is lacking WP:NBIO. Curious to get your opinion on whether this should be put up for AfD. Thanks, Skipple ☎ 19:24, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the kind words @Skipple. I do agree that what’s in the entry does not meet the notability standard. However I have not conducted a WP:BEFORE search yet, so there may be better material out there? If you look and don’t find it, then I would think it would be reasonable to nominate. Editing other people's comments
Hello, I'm sure your intention was good here: [1]. I just want to let you know that there are only a few legitimate reasons to alter another user's comments per WP:TPO and none of them appear to apply to the edit in question. That's why I've reverted you. Cheers, Generalrelative (talk) 18:58, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Generalrelative: it’s someone who has repeatedly flouted our GENDERID policy. There was no reason to include the initial except to persist in showing disrespect to the living subject of the article. I would appreciate it if you would please restore my changes. Innisfree987 (talk) 20:45, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- Huh, I can't say I understand how including the initial flaunts GENDERID but I don't have time to dig into the context. If you believe that the comment is grossly insulting, however, I'd suggest bringing it to an admin's attention for possible refactoring. I can also see a case for simply deleting the comment in question as WP:SOAPBOXing. Generalrelative (talk) 20:59, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- Actually the other issues from this person on that talk page have never been corrected so what I really should have done was refactor all the pronouns and indicate GENDERID in the edit summary. I apologize for not leaving that edit summary. Innisfree987 (talk) 20:57, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- It's not clear to me that this is permitted. I'd suggest raising the issue at, e.g. WP:AE. That said, I'm not going to continue to revert you over it. Like I said, it's clear that your intentions are good. Cheers, Generalrelative (talk) 21:01, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you so much dear @Gerda Arendt! Hoping all is well with you! Innisfree987 (talk) 17:09, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
December 15th twitter suspensions - stop reverting the article. The context around 'dubbing' is important.
Stop reverting. Sybau (talk) 14:11, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Sybau, in fact you have violated the three-revert rule. I see you’re new so even tho you were warned about that rule on your talk page, you may not realize you risk being blocked for that as it is considered disruptive. The wisest course is to revert yourself and try to gather support for your preferred version on the entry’s talk page. Innisfree987 (talk) 14:29, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
Imagine hiding behind some ridiculous rule to push a narrative. How ridiculous. Sybau (talk) 15:07, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Sybau please also note that assume good faith and no personal attacks are Wikipedia policies. Innisfree987 (talk) 15:11, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
(Not you, specifically). I just don't see why we would let that stand. I've reverted my change as suggested but I really don't think it's appropriate. Anyways I'll back off. Sybau (talk) 15:10, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Sybau thank you, I appreciate the clarification.
- Wikipedia works by discussion to work toward consensus so the entry’s talk page is the best place to address content concerns. Happy editing, Innisfree987 (talk) 15:13, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
My apologies, initial response shouldn't have been so heated. Sybau (talk) 15:14, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Sybau, thanks much, I appreciate it. Innisfree987 (talk) 15:17, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
