Please sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

If you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page. Or, please come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

We're so glad you're here! henriktalk 18:00, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more note

[edit]

I noticed you posted comments on the deletion discussion talk page. The usual convention here on Wikipedia is for those comments to be made on the deletion discussion page directly. Another user has moved them to the correct place for you, I hope you don't mind that.

Another tip: You can sign your comments by typing ~~~~ at the end of your comments on talk pages, which helps keep track of who wrote what :-) Sorry for the inconvenience - it is hard to understand all of wikipedia's multitude of policies directly, so please ask me if you have any questions at all. henriktalk 18:19, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and article:William Geddes

[edit]

Thanks for creating the William george nicholson geddes article, another past-president off the list to do. I have added my support to it's deletion page and fortunately there seems to be overwhelming support to save it. Don't worry about the lower case name, it's an easy mistake to make and easily solveable.

If you are interested in more Civ Eng related topics please consider joining the WP:CEng project, this is a project that attempts to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Civ Eng topics and we are always glad of new members. I have included the details below:

You have been invited to join the WikiProject Civil Engineering, a collaborative effort focused on improving Wikipedia's coverage of civil engineering. If you'd like to join, just add your name to the member list. Thanks for reading!

Finally if you have any questions regarding Wikiproject:Civil Engineering or the ICE past presidents listing please ask at my talk page and I will do my best to answer them for you. Cheers - Dumelow (talk) 18:46, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS: as if to show how easy it is to make mistakes, initially I accidentally posted this to your user page instead of the talk page! Apologies for that.

RE:William Glanville

[edit]

Glad to see you back. Thanks for correcting the article, both the Royal Society and the Dictionary of National Biography have got it wrong in their biographies - its nice to see Wikipedia with a more correct article! Cheers, Dumelow (talk) 20:13, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Skype

[edit]

You might note that at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Alan Muir Wood, also introduced some extraneous text around some numerical characters. This may be due to a combination of your browser and Skype trying to identify and highlight telephone numbers. Thank you.--Rumping (talk) 23:21, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Robert Watson-Watt may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Your draft article, Draft:Structural-Safety

[edit]

Hello Gordon Masterton. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Structural-Safety".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Structural-Safety}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 12:00, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
