I was training a group of women today - more activity associated with Ada Lovelace Day. I was telling them how you so kindly helped out with out last batch of articles and then I showed them your gender gap list. As an illustration of the process, I picked a name from the list and made a quick start. The article is now at AFD but this provides a good example of what can happen if you don't do it right. I have expanded the article just now but perhaps you can take a look too, as you're quite good at this and may know more about the subject. If you're busy that's understandable too, of course, so no pressure... Andrew Davidson (talk) 20:05, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- How very frustrating. I came across Susan Nycum's name on the Women in computing article, where she was one of the earliest red-linked names in the timeline. She has since been removed from that article (see talk). She's definitely marginal, notability-wise, but may still meet WP:BIO. This source, for instance demonstrates that she was anticipating data flight due to patent protection back in 1978. Not a silver bullet, but a few more like that might do the trick. I'll see if I can find some additional sources. Gobōnobō + c 20:33, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- I see that you already had that source listed. After a bit of digging, I now feel that she is most certainly notable. I've expanded the article some and weighed in at AfD. Thank you for coordinating an Ada Lovelace Day activity and keep up the good work! Gobōnobō + c 23:10, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- Many thanks for your assistance in getting this resolved so quickly. All's well that ends well. Look for another batch of articles next week. Andrew Davidson (talk) 00:34, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey Gobonobo. I know that you are about to review our article drafts but I have a quick question. I'm trying to consolidate my identical references so it only takes up one line on the list instead of multiple but I'm having an issue. I know that you have to create a "ref name/group" and when I do that, the original references look fine but the following references always have an issue message like I'm missing something. I'm guessing I'm making a simple mistake but I'm not sure what it is. You can let me know on my sandbox talk page, thank you! Tapbh (talk) 17:37, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Tapbh. I left a note for you on your sandbox's talk page. Gobōnobō + c 18:53, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 20
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Foundation for Government Accountability, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Levy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Help with a redirect issue for Global Youth Studies
Hi Gobonobo. In attempting to create the new page Religion in Senegal, Prof. V and I discovered that it redirects to the page Demographics of Senegal. We attempted to change the redirect based on the WP instructions, but were unsuccessful. Might you be able to help answer this question? Also, Prof. V recommended that I create a 'see also' section for the sources that I don't explicitly reference in my article, but which were relevant to my resource, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. Any advice? Thanks! NSully83 (talk) 02:14, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- @NSully83: The redirect thingy at the top just needed to be deleted. It should be working now. Gobōnobō + c 02:23, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- I've added a see also section as well. Hope that helps. Gobōnobō + c 02:27, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks much
Thanks for the image contribution to page, Judith Krug.
But any ideas on how to get a free-use licensed image, instead?
Cheers,
— Cirt (talk) 03:42, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- @Cirt: Hi. I looked for free images of Krug in the usual places, but didn't find any. There are a couple of decent photographs on Flickr, but not under the right license. The American Library Association also has a couple of images on their website. I haven't yet tried to contact the owners of these images to see if they would release them under a compatible license, but I think that would be the best route. I can do that in the near future unless you would prefer to. Gobōnobō + c 23:38, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- I emailed them a couple times but they haven't gotten back to me yet. But I didn't try for those images http://www.ala.org/offices/oif/rememberingjudith -- maybe you could try? — Cirt (talk) 00:01, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Lydia Shackleton
On 21 November 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lydia Shackleton, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Irish botanical artist Lydia Shackleton, who painted over 1500 studies, helpfully taped the pressed flower or leaf to her work for comparison with the painted subject (example pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lydia Shackleton. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Lucie Campbell
Hi there. I noticed you tagged the "Lucie Campbell" article as being "underlinked". Why didn't you just read the article and add some links? Richard Apple (talk) 22:44, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- @Richard apple: Hi. I usually don't like to engage in drive-by tagging, but Category:Articles with too few wikilinks is one of the few backlogs that has a reasonably speedy turnaround time thanks to the good folks at WikiProject Wikify. I'm working my way through Black Women in America right now, adding missing entries to the Gender Gap red list. As I go through it, I'm making small fixes, but if I were to fix everything that I come across, this project would take months instead of days. Gobōnobō + c 22:54, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. I figured it was a bot or something. I added links to the article, and did some cleanup too. I'll look at the list and do a few more articles. Cheers. Richard Apple (talk) 23:08, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for adding those links. I'll return to the article at some point if I can find a suitable image. Gobōnobō + c 00:03, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Nipsey Russell.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Nipsey Russell.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
