So I started working on Esther Cooper Jackson today (she died at 105 on August 23!) and it led me down a rabbit hole to her husband, James E. Jackson, who is very notable and I was shocked we don't have an article on him. So in researching him, I also came across his father, James Jackson Sr. (father of not only one civil rights leaders, but TWO - Jackson Jr's sister is Alice Jackson Stuart) and now I'm getting distracted while trying to focus on Esther and James' article but was wondering if you'd like to collaborate or start a draft or two on the Dovell Act, which we inexplicably have no article on and Jackson Jrs father, James Jackson Sr., who was one of the first black pharmacists in Richmond (and also a heavy target of the KKK) as well as successful in petitioning the Eagle Scouts to allow black members/troops. Here's a great story to give some background if you're interested. If not, no biggie, just figured I'd reach out since my ADHD is unbearable and I'd like to focus on one article at a time and I know you're good at researching this type of stuff. Leona Egeland moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Leona Egeland, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:07, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

- Please not resubmit this without addressing the issues raised. There are three sources and none seem appropriate. I would expect better from an editor with 100k edits. Please ensure at least two independent, secondary, reliable sources showing significant coverage are included before resubmitting. Submit without then and I’ll presume this is an acknowledgement they do not exist and reject the article. Thank you. MaxnaCarta (talk) 13:52, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- The very first cite is the man's newspaper obituary. That doesn't seem appropriate to you? Why not??? FloridaArmy (talk) 14:06, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @MaxnaCarta per WP:NPOL state legislatures are presumed notable. FloridaArmy usually does try to provide additional sources and content that goes beyond just a sentence stub. FA, how did find the obit, Newpapers.com? Also, do you mind me referring to you as FA? S0091 (talk) 19:34, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- User:S0091 searching "joseph g. moss Clarion Ledger March 24, 2009" I see the obituary is available on Legacy.com if you don't have access to the original. Worth noting that entry was targeted for deletion. I can't expand everything but I try to at peast get things started with the basics. It's a little ahocking we don't even have a list of Mississippi Sovereignty Commission members but I'm sure we'll get around to it once we've deleted enough short drafts on state legislators and other notable figures. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:26, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks FA. Do you mean AfD deleted or G13 deleted? At one time I did review/tag G13 eligible drafts and while most are crap, I do wish there were some more guardrails around it along with a way to get the obvious crap out of the there quicker so it easier to focus on what should really be reviewed/improved. About one of maybe 20 or so at least had "something" to it. I also agree there are tons of subjects across this vast world and its history that is yet to be covered here. Wikipedia will be forever "incomplete". However, you do your bit and others do theirs and none of us, or even all us collaboratively, have the capacity to do it all. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try, though. :) S0091 (talk) 00:07, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

- @FloridaArmy I think I rushed this assessment. Also I apologise if my comment came across as too terse. I just woke up (I’m Australian) and on reading this while not rude it was more blunt than I would have liked. Sorry. I do know legislatures are notable. I more meant that for someone of your experience I’d have expected a better article and more sources than mere mentions before submitting to main. That’s all. It’s been approved by a very experienced editor now, far more experienced than I and so clearly it should have been accepted. Thanks! MaxnaCarta (talk) 22:56, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- You do seem to be working very fast. This draft is of poor quality. Why did you submit something with bare URLs for references and spelling mistakes? It looks like no effort was put into the article and you expect the reviewer or someone else to fix it? While of course articles don’t need to be perfect or complete, surely you can at least present them well? It makes reviewing articles more difficult when the reference list is not tidy and well formatted with the necessary details. MaxnaCarta (talk) 23:03, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- User:MaxnaCarta Wikipedia is a collaborative enterprise. That is the whole idea of a Wikie. What do you think of our current coverage of the Louisiana Sovereignty Commission? Is the draft I started an improvement or is what we have better? I am only one editor so I can't do it all myself. Thanks very much for your help! 23:23, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- With regards to "collaborative enterprise", it really helps for work to already have formatted references and be written reasonably well. It's much easier to locate a source from a dead link if all the other information about it is correct, or jump to an exact page number. There have also been times where I have come across grammatical/spelling errors so confusing it made it difficult to understand what the original editor was trying to communicate. At any rate, I've been stumbling around mid-century Mississippi politics for a bit and will happily assist you if you want to work on Sovereignty Commission material. -Indy beetle (talk) 02:22, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

Wade Mackie moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Wade Mackie, is not suitable as written to remain published.
