Information icon Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Mesut Özil, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:13, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Please do not add religion or sexuality-based categories to BLPs, as you did at Richard Boyd Barrett, without first reading WP:BLPCAT and WP:CAT/R. It is not enough to have been raised in a religion to be included in an adherents' category. Per BLPCAT, for sexuality or religious categories, the subject must a) publicly identify with that religion (or lack thereof) or sexuality, and their notability must derive from it. There is nothing in RBB's article to even suggest they're still a Roman Catholic. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 12:50, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

BLP Categories

[edit]

I see you've already been notified of the policy regarding adding categories to biographies of living persons; yet, your addition of this category to the page Ismail Haniyeh was not compliant with that policy. Please again review WP:BLPCAT before adding potentially contentious categories to other BLP articles. PhotogenicScientist (talk) 14:37, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:People with acquired Afghan citizenship indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 20:25, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable categories

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Kim Jong Un. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You have recently received advice about our guidelines concerning the use of categories, specifically WP:BLPCAT but you continue to add questionable categories to the biographies of living persons (also Pierre Vogel). Per WP:BLPCAT: "Category names do not carry disclaimers or modifiers, so the case for each content category must be made clear by the article text and its verifiable reliable sources." Information icon Hello, I'm GrabUp. I noticed that you recently removed content from November 2024 Amsterdam attacks without adequately explaining why. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
