Replaceable non-free use File:Chance Perdomo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chance Perdomo.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Archives

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your efforts, but please do not add any archiving code to talk pages as you have done recently, as this is only conventionally done for very large pages (over 75 kilobytes) as described at the help page about archiving. Not only are the archive pages you caused the archiving bot to create barely useful, they were also formatted in month/year format (e.g. Talk:X/Archives/2024/ August) rather than the much more conventionally used number format (e.g. Talk:X/Archive 1). I think I know how you might have found that bot code but ... it's about the worst example you can possibly use (I can explain further if you like). I'll tag several of the archived pages you have caused to be created for speedy deletion. In particular, adding archiving code to empty talk pages like you did at Talk:Isak Andic (which is how I found you, via a news report), is particularly unhelpful. I've spent the last two hours cleaning up after your archiving efforts; please don't try that again. Graham87 (talk) 15:26, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for apparently taking my advice on board. Graham87 (talk) 12:57, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image for Jill Jacobson

[edit]

Please, do not remove again fair use image for actress Jill Jacobson, as the subject is deceased, no free equivalent could reasonably be obtained or created to replace this particular picture, the use of the image on the article is contended to be a fair use, since it is used solely for educational purposes in a not-for-profit encyclopedia, is necessary for cultural and historical purposes, and the material value of the possible copyright is not believed to be lessened by its use here. Thank you. Yagiv (talk) 16:45, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't remove anything, though? Btw, here is an interview video with an appearance of Jacobson with a CC-BY-SA-4.0 license: Link Erksahin (talk) 17:05, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image for Paul Bamba

[edit]

@Erksahin I noticed that the image of Image:Paul Bamba.jpg was removed from the article Paul Bamba. I would like to kindly request reconsideration of its removal. The subject of this article is deceased, and the image is being used under a fair use rationale to enhance the understanding of their life and contributions, as no free alternative is available.

The inclusion of the image aligns with Wikipedia’s guidelines on non-free content, particularly in cases where it significantly improves the quality of the article about a deceased individual. The image provides critical context and is directly related to the subject’s notability.

If there are any specific concerns about the fair use rationale, I am happy to address them or improve the documentation to ensure compliance.

Thank you for your understanding. Afro 📢Talk! 08:52, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My edit seems to have overwrote it for some reason, I do not know the reason why it happened but I did not remove the image willingly. This is not the first time this kind of thing happened to me. Possibly, while I was editing the article, it did contain the image but I hadn't refreshed the page, so it loaded without showing the image in the editor and I removed it without noticing. I honestly do not know why it happened like that. I affirm that there is no copyright issue with the image itself. Erksahin (talk) 09:12, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
