Otoboke Beaver - Itekoma Hits query
Hi there! Sorry I didn't see your message. The OB page is the only one i've ever created from scratch and as i'm not particularly 'tech-savvy', it took ages, and I still wasn't happy with it when finished! Luckily plenty of contributors have made it generally more succinct and pleasant to read through.
I've just made some slight edits to the info.
Bit more detail here if you're interested: "Akimahenka" was originally a Japan-Record store day exclusive in 2015, which was the last thing they released before joining Damnably and touring internationally. The original Akimahenka is a bit more distorted/raw in the vocals, which I personally prefer - but the 2019 version is played faster and the drums sound much better.
"Anata Watashi Daita Ato Yome No Meshi", which translates something like, "After making love with me, you eat your wife's cooking" was released by Damnably as digital only in Feb 2018, a few months before Pop left the band. The single also came with an 'instrumental' version of the song. I personally prefer the original mix, where the gang harmonies in the chorus is a little brighter, and the bass is generally a bit chunkier.
If you wanted to make pages for the other albums they've released, i'd be more than happy to help giving you some of the raw information if you'd be able to create the pages :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blazinggunny (talk • contribs) 15:19, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Blazinggunny: Thanks for the information. I am a recent fan of the band and so far Itekoma Hits is the only album that I have. I am quite new to knowledge on which songs were recorded when and which drummer was present at the time. Thanks for helping with my new article on Itekoma Hits, as I believe the reader needs to know these things, which in turn should help spread knowledge about the band's work. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 16:42, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Doomsdayer: After you legitimately criticized my Malloy article, I went looking extensively for positive notable material on him. I couldn't find anything, not even as they say, "Hitler loved his dog." What I did find was only his extremely unusual and vitriolic dispute that went on with another, now retired, judge, who was probably as tightly wrapped as he is, and his removing almost a quarter of a million voters in Wisconsin from the rolls, at the behest of three Republican right-wing operatives, both situations which I'd covered. I'd encourage you to search for anything different yourself. That voter removal got international coverage, and similar Wisconsin right-wing (i.e. Bradley Foundation) efforts in which he was not involved to disenfranchise perhaps millions of Wisconsin voters, have been a national scandal. SunCrow, before he was blocked, successfully buried that in the article about voter suppression around the U.S. In don't think that SunCrow was a paid editor either, but he certainly was an ideological warrior. Ironically, just after he apologized to me, after years of deleting my work in congressional elections around the country (i.e., Tenney v. Brindisi), and I had hopes that his behavior would become more moderate. I was actually sorry to see him go after he'd self-evaluated his behavior and I thought he might be someone who could be worked with. Anyhow, I'll write up some diffs to better chronicle Springee's behavior, so it's clear that I'm not the monster he paints me to be. The dispute is primarily not about content, or POV or whatever. It's not "DUE" or "RECENT" when I google the subjects and get tens or hundreds of thousands of hits about something he prefers to remain obscure. I suggest you could search for yourself, say, "Don Young" and "coronavirus" or "COVID-19", and Biggs and "vote" and coronavirus. I have extensive obligations and I love to edit, having contributed over 13,000 in 14 years, but I can't spend all my time trying to explain the behavior of this character. I have too many other things I can do in my life, but with him on me like this, it's pointless to continue editing the encyclopedia with him deleting almost everything I do. Would you take a look at a BLPN discussion for me?
Doomsdayer, I saw your new article review here [[2]]. I'm seeing a similar style and issues with text from the same editor. I raised a BLPN discussion about it here [[3]]. I'm trying to figure out how to articulate the common issue with the editor's writing style. I'm concerned about both DUE (lots of dwelling on negative details) as well as the prose used to present the material. It seems to come across more like something a narrator would say rather than factual conveyance of information. I think it's good faith editing but the mistakes are repeating in a number of articles. It might be helpful to have additional eyes to review things (and tell me if I'm full of it if need be). Thanks Springee (talk) 02:02, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Springee is canvassing for support to discredit me. He seems to have taken as his mission in life to Wikihound me. After I disputed his deletions at the Ken Buck and Andy Biggs articles, his venomous attacks seem to have metastacized. He's followed me, for instance, to the Don Young article deleting material that was perfectly sound, doing the same at the Barbara Bollier, the Susan Wagle and others. I'd edited the Wagle article over 80 times, over the years, the Young article 60 times or so over the last 8 1/2 years. I'd even edited the Buck article in years past, if memory serves. No one else has had a problem with my edits, save a banned editor, SunCrow, but Springee just erases hours of my work over and over with a few taps of the mouse. In the Biggs article, I repeatedly cautioned him that he had not only erased my edits, but eliminated a citation that supported one edit that remained, and he managed to conflate two different bills that provided cornonavirus funding as if they were a single bill. The two were voted on over a week apart, for vastly different appropriations (maybe $8 billion and $4 trillion). He's trying to present himself as a resonsible editor, but he's nothing more than a vandal, trying to scrub the articles about right-wing officeholders, and delete edits on those who may be their opponents. He's been on Noticeboard 187 times in his last 1,000 edits, as of a couple of days ago. He's trying to present his whitewashing as legitimate editing when it's not. Activist (talk) 16:07, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- User:Activist - At that BLPN discussion, I offered my opinion upon request. I also said over there that I am not interested in the argument between you two people. Keep me out of it and don't pollute my talk page with gripes that belong elsewhere. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 16:10, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of page "Turkish military intervention in the Second Libyan Civil War"
Hello, What was your reason for the deletion of this page? This page is very early and people would like to expand it with more information as events unfold. Such deletion of a massive article is very controversial and unreasonable. Biomax20 (talk) 02:29, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
I have therefore restored the page because i need to link all other pages that need this information included. Biomax20 (talk) 02:30, 24 May 2020 (UTC) I sincerely hope that wasnt an attempt to censor the very real, current controversial intrigues unfolding on Libyan soil. Biomax20 (talk) 02:39, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
- User:Biomax20 - Figure out the terminology and processes around here. I am neutral on the topic of this military operation, and in fact know little about it -- a conundrum that this article does nothing to alleviate. I did not the delete the article, I moved it to draft space, where it is temporarily invisible to general readers and interested people can get it ready. If it had been deleted you would have been unable to bring it back so easily. An explanation for the move was sent to the person who created the article: [4]. The reason for that move was that the article was incomplete with several empty sections. See Wikipedia:Not ready for primetime. No matter how important the topic is, an incomplete article makes Wikipedia, and the topic itself, look bad. Also, a functional article next week looks much better than an incomplete article now. If you think it should be visible to general readers, finish it. And fast. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:24, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Hey, I saw you reviewed my article on musician Takahiro Yoshikawa, I am new to Wikipedia on wanted to know what “review” means in this context! Thanks Fthobe (talk) 08:57, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Fthobe: -- See Wikipedia:New pages patrol, where we do a yes/no review to confirm that the article conforms to Wikipedia's basic formatting and writing requirements, and that it doesn't break any obvious rules like copyright infringement. That is a basic step, unlike the notability discussion that is currently taking place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Takahiro Yoshikawa. That is a much deeper discussion in which an Administrator will watch for a consensus on whether Yoshikawa is notable enough to STAY in Wikipedia. I read through that debate but did not vote because I know little about current classical music. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:16, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Ava Bahram
Hello, I have re-read your comments, 3 of Ava Bahram's songs with the letters "Roozhaye Tanhaei", "Agooshe To" and "Gol ya Pooch" have been broadcasted in the Gem TV channels in the 3 years and got a megahit. please Attention considering that by Islamic laws it is forbidden for female singers to broadcast their voices on the national television of the Islamic Republic of Iran , and in this regard their songs have been broadcasted on Gem TV channels and others Persian-language satellite TV channels, such as PMC, Radio Javan, and others. so there are good reasons. I researched this in the case of other Iranian female singer who also have an article. Please check and help me in this regard so that I can keep the article on the home page. Hello Doomsdayer520,
- Your help can make a difference
NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

Hello,
This article is the same one that has been deleted multiple times for WP:PROMO and advertising, it's just essentially reshuffled around. As such, I contested the technical move as the salt is in place to prevent this articles re-creation. I have also taken the article to AfD. As a formality, I also opened the move discussion since I contested it, however if you'd like to withdraw the requested move pending the outcome of the AfD discussion, you could do that.

Help to Resolve COI
Hi Doomsdayer520,
I saw that you reviewed a page that I had written, Poh Li San. As you may be aware, the page is marked with a major contributor having a connection with the subject. Could I trouble you to remove the COI banner since it has already been reviewed by you? I thank you for your assistance in advance!
Additionally, I have also written another page Lim Wee Kiak, can I also seek your kind assistance in helping me to review the page and remove the COI banner as well once all facts have been verified?
I acknowledge the COI in both pages and thus, I have stopped making edits to both pages since the declaration. However, time has passed and with edits by other contributors being added to both pages and one of which being reviewed by you prior, I believe that the COI banner can be removed.
Do let me know if you want to make any clarifications.
Many thanks. Wamprong (talk) 06:05, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Dotty (Scalac 3) submission rejected
Hi, Can you tell me what's the reason behind the rejection of my article? My intention definitely wasn't to advertise anything or anyone, but I can't see what's wrong. Could you please point it out to me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DariaKarasek (talk • contribs) 14:51, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- @DariaKarasek: -- Sorry for the delay in this response. The problem is that there is nothing to say about the Dotty programming language beyond the fact that it will soon be released. Wikipedia is not a directory of products and Dotty must make some sort of impact, as reported in reliable media, before it qualifies for a Wikipedia article. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:44, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- @DOOMSDAYER: -- Hi, thank you very much for the explanation. I understand that Dotty itself may not seem to represent a lot for someone out of IT world or Scala programming language. However, in the IT world it's a huge milestone in the Scala Programming Language Development. As you've probably read Dotty is the third version of Scala Programming Language which is well known and used by the leading brand all over the world. Scalac 3 could be an update on Scala Programming language, however, the changes introduced by the official www.scala-lang.org website as well as the official announcements by the Scala Creator Martin Odersky - both sources mentioned in my article - are quite significant. That's probably why the creators gave the third version it's own name - Dotty. I'm afraid that the official programming language website could be the most reliable media there is when it comes to this kind of content. DariaKarasek (talk) 13:28, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- @DariaKarasek: - Those matters could possibly be added as current developments in the existing article for Scala (programming language). When/if Dotty becomes a matter of public interest beyond the professional community, in which case it will be reported by the reliable media sources noted above, it may become eligible for its own Wikipedia article. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:42, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Melissa B. Article
Hello - I understand that you wanted to vote to delete my page and honestly there are a ton of articles that I can show you that I can barely find on a artist. I was asked to give valid information in which I did. This is the timeline of a real artist. All the research I did in order to get this article up was not easy. I was told to give the facts. This person has a history and you can not negate that fact. I feel this article is really good based on the amount of information I had to dig in the internet. I would ask that you be very open and knowing that I can point out alot of other articles I have seen that you would tear up worst. I also want to point out "Notability is determined, essentially, by what reliable sources say about a subject. Basically, whether the subject has been significantly "noted", rather than simply being potentially "noteworthy". Sources need to be independent of the subject of the article, with a reputation for fact-checking and oversight, because sources close to the subject might naturally be biased or promotional. I hope you help me make this article better on Melissa B. Itgemgirl1 (talk) 03:00, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Itgemgirl1: - It's a community vote so you are welcome to say all of this at the deletion discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Melissa B.. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia in which people and things have to qualify for inclusion. I don't think Melissa B. quite makes it but others in that community discussion could disagree. There would be no problem publishing what you found about the singer at other websites. And just note that you should not take any of this personally, and the article now belongs to everyone in the Wikipedia community (see WP:OWN). ––DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 19:44, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Custom signature fix needed
Hey there! Just a friendly note to say that you have a pipe (|) in your signature, which causes problems when your signature is used inside a template, as at Jewelpet Attack Travel!. Please see WP:SIG#CustomSig, which explains:
To visibly include the pipe (|
) or equals (=
) characters in your signature, you must escape them, or they will break templates unexpectedly when your signature is present. To escape the |
symbol, use the following special code: |

Please replace the | in your signature with |

Hi, Doomsdayer520 I was wondering if you could please have a look at the following article Gabriel Kunda Jr, which you helped with previously, but has been nominated for deletion, when all the references meet the criteria of the article. Thanks (talk)) 14:25, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Vivalionel1: - My earlier work on the article was only for formatting and other basic requirements. The current deletion debate is about whether the player is notable enough to remain in Wikipedia, and there are specific rules for pro athletes that are not my area of expertise. I can only advise you to read WP:NFOOTBALL and use what you see there to evaluate other people's comments in the deletion debate. DOOMSDAYER520 | TALK | CONTRIBS 20:37, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Help me to review a page
Hey mate, sorry, I don't really edit Wikipedia enough, but I've stumbled across a page of an actor, Zach Averywith too few credible sources to meet notability requirements, while appearing extremely detailed for someone who only appears to have been in small budget films or as an extra . I see that you have been active in some deletion pages, and were wondering if you could help. Cheers NebuchadnezzarHammurabi (talk) 13:28, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- @NebuchadnezzarHammurabi: - Someone has already raised an accusation about that article being a paid promotion. However it appears that the actor really does have some reliable media coverage, and the only valid reason to call for the article's deletion is if it flunks the test at WP:NACTOR. On the other hand, I agree that the article has too much detail that is useless to the general reader and most likely an attempt at promotion. Such things could be removed, like his mom's occupation or his childhood dreams of being a football player. Anyone can remove text like that, including you. New Page Patrol December Newsletter
Hello Doomsdayer520,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Thanks and draft Aztec Records
Hi Doomsdayer520, thank you very much for your work and for reviewing the article "Laura Fares". This amazing online encyclopedia is possible thanks to all of you. It is exciting to see how it is progressing little by little. Also the quality and the contents.
As an expert in music I want to ask you the great favor of if you can also review the draft of Aztec Records, that I created a few months ago. Thank you very much. --RafiUbeda (talk) 11:12, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- @RafiUbeda: - Your Aztec Records article looks pretty good, except the second paragraph is not about the company and is instead a biography of Bright Light Bright Light. That text belongs at his article instead. The text about NINA also drifts from the company a bit a should be reduced and relocated to her article. In the Discography section, note that album titles should be in italics. and individual songs should be in quotation marks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:52, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520: Oh, thank you, I´ll try to improve it with your suggestions as soon as possible. --RafiUbeda (talk) 12:18, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520: Hi, Doomsdayer I´ve already finished the long list of recordings with the italics and quotation marks in "Aztec Records" draft. I have also erased some of the phrases about Nina and Bright Light, would you please review it again?--RafiUbeda (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- @RafiUbeda: - The article looks good in terms of formatting. I recommend removing the second paragraph (about Bright Light) and third paragraph (about NINA) altogether. Those are mostly unsourced comments and again they are not directly relevant to a description of the record company. Those comments are better suited for each musician's individual article. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 16:54, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
After your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Nielsen Pearson Band, I took a look at the album, which clearly doesn't pass WP:NALBUM, and redirected to the discophraphy section of the band's article. We'll see how long before the editor who created the article reverts it, and I have to take it to AfD.Onel5969 TT me 18:30, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
AFC Tag
This is a continuation of our discussion about the AFC tag on some articles including Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Isabelle Reine. I respectfully disagree with any suggestion that this indicates any failure on the part of the AFC process. On the contrary, it indicates that the AFC process is working but has been bypassed. If you are saying that "tougher oversight" is needed, and it appears that you are, then I would ask what oversight should be improved: of the AFC process itself, or of the entry of articles into article space. If you think that the problem is with the AFC process itself, I ask you how this is a problem with AFC. If you think that this has to do with the entry of articles into article space, I sort of agree. However, what basically happened is that the author moved a page into article space that was not ready for article space. That is a known problem. The author could have moved the page into article space without ever using AFC, and then only New Page Patrol would have caught it. There was a slightly higher degree of attention to this page because the author put it into the AFC process and then bypassed the AFC process.
Perhaps you are saying that there should be tougher oversight of the movement of articles into article space in general, not just from AFC. If so, the answer is that the community does not seem to be ready to do this. Some editors have suggested limiting the ability of relatively new editors to move pages into article space. The community was split over whether to limit the ability of editors who were not yet autoconfirmed to create articles, and now non-autoconfirmed editors can no longer create articles, but autoconfirmation is all that is needed.
So can you please explain what you think the failure is? I agree that articles get into article space that should not be in article space. But what is the solution? Robert McClenon (talk) 18:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Robert McClenon: - Though I never used the word "failure", on further reflection I unfairly implied that this happens a lot. Perhaps a tiny percentage of authors in the AfC system game the process, so those can be handled case-by-case. I apologize for implying that the whole AfC process doesn't work.
- However, at the Isabelle Reine AfD you stated that the author bypassed the process not just once but twice, with inappropriate use of tags, and this is not the first time I've seen such a statement at AfD's. You also said over there: "This article was not approved by AFC." Well that tells me that there is something wrong with the "approval" process. It may not be a systemic failure, but if it can be bypassed so easily then there is at least a minor gap in the process.
- Reading between the lines, it looks like there is a periodic script process handling the cleanup tags and such. If so, perhaps the schedule could be sped up. Perhaps there could also be a notification sent to someone on the team whenever an author moves a draft article to mainspace prematurely. Then the team could go out and re-draftify the article back into the AfC process. Also, "move protection" is a standard process, and if the transition from draft space to mainspace is treated as a standard move, perhaps move protection should be applied to an embryonic AfC article and/or its author.
- Sincerely, ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 17:01, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Doomsdayer. I have thought about your comment at the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Isabelle Reine and just came to follow up on that. I used to be involved pretty heavily in AfC, before turning my attention to NPP. Do I think AfC could be improved? Yes. Just like virtually everything in WP could be improved. But in this instance, I don't think any further notification is necessary. I review approximately 10 articles a day which have been approved by AfC reviewers, and I very rarely have an issue with them. When I do, it's simply a disagreement over meeting notability criteria, rather than any of them trying to put one over on the rest of us. What happened in this particular article, while not common, does happen with some regularity: an non-autoconfirmed editor created an article; an NPP reviewer took a look at it, and draftified it, which puts into into the AfC queue; the article creator, obviously a fan of the artist, disagreed with the draftification and moved it back into the mainspace; there another NPP reviewer, yours truly, evaluated it and submitted it to AfD. The process worked perfectly.
- Finally, not every draft goes through the AfC process. In fact, most don't. The vast majority of those are by autopatrolled users, and if that is the case, there is no review of those articles. Those created by non-autopatrolled editors automatically get added to the NPP queue, and do get reviewed. Those in AfC do get reviewed. And if they get moved out of the AfC queue without a review, then they get reviewed in NPP. So I think the process is working pretty well. The bar for autoconfirmed is very low (I think 4 days on WP with a registered account, and 10 edits), after which the editor has the ability to create articles and move articles. Onel5969 TT me 14:18, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Onel5969: - Thank you for the wise comments. In my discussion with Mr. McClenon above, I did have to confess that my rather clumsy commentary made it look like this happens a lot. The whole process and team should not be criticized due to a few bad apples, and though I have seen it happen several times, I was faulty in implying that it is some sort of systemic problem. At this point I will merely suggest that some procedures be inspected and if gaps are found they can be tackled to the best of everyone's ability. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 23:10, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- I think that you and User:onel5969 and I are now mostly in agreement. The inherent gap in quality control is that autoconfirmed editors can create articles in article space without AFC review, and a side effect of that is that pages can be moved from draft space to article space without AFC review. However, they go through NPP review, which is comparable. Also, if an article was in AFC review, and is then moved to article space other than by an AFC review, it winds up in the category Category:Pending AfC submissions in article space. This category displays the template that you saw and that is incorrect. It says that the article was accepted by a reviewer but has not been closed out yet. Sometimes that is the reason for the template, but it can also mean that it was moved out of draft space to article space by a non-reviewer. That apparently confused you, and it is not your fault that it confused you. The template is partly wrong. Some reviewers check that category periodically. If an article in the category was accepted by a reviewer, then there may have been a failure of the script. (I think this happens with certain reviewers who have an older version of the script.) Alternatively, it means that the article was not reviewed, and the template is useful in calling attention to the fact that it needs reviewing, and that it quite often does not belong in article space. Isabelle Reine is such a case. Because these articles that were moved out of AFC out of process go into their own category, I think that the process is working the way you are saying it should, in that the reviewers do see and review those articles, and they often get sent to AFD. I think that the basic problem is that an incorrect template made you think that something was wrong, and it is actually right. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
