Comunidades of Goa

[edit]

I am very upset about wrong and misleading information being carried on your page describing the Comunidades of Goa, India.

Some frivolous statements about the real nature of these heritage institutions and some factually incorrect information is being displayed on the main page uplaoded by you.

I am a journalist, a gaunkar of the Comunidade of Serula, and a member of the Association of Components of Comunidades the umbrella organisation that represents the Comunidades and all their members in different forms of participation.

I produced a printed copy of your page before the General Secretary of the ACC Adv Andre Pereira (LLM) who is an authority on the subject and he was very upset.

Merely picking material out of books written by purpotted historians on the subject does not justify your authenticity. We have been engaged in deep research on the topic for years and found that many things mentioned by recent historians/authors on the subject are factually incorrect or not applicable to all 223 Comunidades in Goa.

These bodies were and should conitnue to be village republics having their own laws and governed in general by the Code of Comunidades.

The correct version that I had uplaoded was removed by you and replaced with your erronous version.

If I donot receive response from you I will publish this finding in the media, as also seek legal redressal, as it is damaging our cause and fight for justice.

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Mangalorean Catholics. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mangalorean Catholics. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you the Assigned Official Guardian of the Annexation of Goa?

[edit]

Dear Mr. Deepak D'Souza, I appreciate your interest regarding the Goan question, nonetheless and for some integrity on that Wikipedia chapter, I also would appreciate that you retain from deleting accurate information regarding the the last naval battle at Goa, the escape of the two aircraft from Dabolim, and the number of troops on the territory by inserting information obtained from dubious sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.241.138.228 (talk) 07:36, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Deepak D'Souza! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Internet Movements?

[edit]

I'm not going to fight you, since you're from Karnataka, and probably care more than I do. I love reading about this stuff, but if I really cared, I'd start a blog of my own. This sort of stuff is why I hate editing Wikipedia. But seriously, how many of that list of proposed states at the bottom of that page actually have "street" movements? Most of them don't even have citations. What is your criterion for determining a serious movement? I get a Google suggest and about 5 times as many Google result for "North Karnataka seperate state" compared to Vindhya Pradesh, despite the historical precedent. --64.254.165.55 (talk) 06:04, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hindustani

[edit]

did you not see the link that i had posted which pointed to godse's speech in court which mentioned hindustani as one of the things that rankled him and leading to assasination of gandhi? how can that be a personal opinion when it points to a link? i guess you have a deep seated political bias which prevents your brain from functioning in an intelligent manner which is to recognize and appreciate the TRUTH. Also I hope you have the intelligence to understand what i wrote about hindi and urdu, and how urdu is merely a quasi-language derived from hindi. using latin words does not mean doctors are speaking latin. they are still speaking english and using english syntax, grammer and structure, but incorporating latin words. so it is with urdu(persian words added to hindi) and hindi. And I hope wikipedia is about writing Truth and not political drivel. i guess this is why wikipedia is pretty much useless as a primary source of information as anyone, anybody with deep seated insecurities, biases and vested interests can edit it, truth be damned!!! I hope you realize the importance of Truth, though i doubt it. Bye. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hindisudharak (talkcontribs) 12:05, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

a thousand thackreys

[edit]

i saw that you deleted the entry i had made in the sub head a thousand thackreys in the bal thackrey talk page. while i do not wish to question your edit as i realise i was probably out of line there i do want to know wouldn't it be then reasonable to delete the very sub head as it also falls under the criterion of discussing the charecter and not the page. further if people are not allowed to express their views on the person mentioned in the article where else can we voice opinions on how we feel the page should be written regarding the person and thus in continuum how we feel about the person himself. no offence intented. if you wish to write some thing please do so at my talk page. thanking you Tca achintya (talk) 13:07, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Back on November 17 of last year you left a standard welcome on this editor's talk page (User talk: Ivo Coelho). Unfortunately the editor has already set a redirect to Talk:Peter Henrici so your welcome apeared there. After consulting the Help desk I decided to go ahead and overwrite the redirect (since it was against WP:Userpage - this left your welcome on the article talkpage, so I deleted it.

Normally I would never delete material on someone else's talk page, but it really seemed to me that this was the cleanest way to proceed. Maybe you'd like to rewelcome the editor? It looks like they might need some help! First the user page mix up; one of their articles has been proposed for deletion; and (not yet posted) I need to check that they have permission to copy/paste material from another website into her article Phyllis Wallbank.

Thanks for your understanding! Cje (talk) 17:49, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. I did notice that User: Ivo Coelho had a rather "different" way of creating articles in namespace: he uses his user page as a working board. I should have educated him but I put it back until I forgot about it. Currently his user page redirects to another article. Ill talk to him as you have suggested. Thanks. again. --Deepak D'Souza (talk) 10:52, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Personal attack

[edit]

hi deepak, now how come you claim i'm attacking you. My talk was general and i never used any objectionable word. If you think i have done something wrong then take a time and point it out. You may be master of Wikipedia but how come you say others are attacking you when they do not use any objectionable words. Putting warnings on others talk pages may may look like some sort of amusement, but please don't do it on me. I have not done anything wrong. then why dragging me into something like PERSONAL ATTACK. Be generous. And what ever i said was a general idea based on your argument on inclusion of two words "and Gujarati". Nothing personal on my part. --Onef9day (talk) 08:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck to you.

I've just come from the Shivaji article where I found your input a lone ray of light in an otherwise dark and depressing world of bellicose chauvanism. I declined the speedy deletion of this article as it does not meet WP:CSD#A7. It is not "a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools), or web content". You may take it to WP:AFD if you still think it should be deleted rather than simply improved. Peter 21:40, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Dalit Christians Content in Christianity in India

[edit]

Can you guys please discuss this on the talk page? Thanks. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 10:55, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Would love to have your opinion in the ongoing discussion in Christianity in India talk page. The 70-80% number provided is not only factually wrong but is also very general in character. It does not take into account regions which greater populations of Christianity such as Kerala, Goa and the North-East where entire communities as a whole embraced Christianity irrespective of social and caste differences. Therefore the inclusion of the statement and also the referral to Dalits as untouchables does not befit the article. Thank you. --Centaurcentral (talk) 17:21, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

KONKANI PEOPLE IN KOCHI

[edit]

It is seen that people are rather unaware of Kochi konkani people. Please read Cochin GSB's in wikipedia for more information. Konkani people in Kochi has given their land to community to buy place to establish Kashi mutt in Banaras. Kashi mutt is spiritual head of GSB community. Moreover the majestic Gosripuram Tirumala temple at Cherlai in Kochi is the biggest Konkani temple in Kerala and also largest of all the konkani temples I have seen across India. It is active through out the year with various religious activities. Hence Kochi konkanies has a special place in GSB community. Kochi konkani people are known for their business.

Kochi alone has ~60,000 GSB's. Also Ernakulam has sufficient number of Konkani people allong with North Paravur, Varapuzha, Cherai and Allepey.

To note: The last 4 spiritual heads of Kashi mutts were frfom Kochi including Late Srimad Sukratheendra Theertha swamiji, Srimad Sudheendra Theertha Swamiji, Outsed Swami Raghavendra Theertha, and latest Srimad Upendra Theertha swamiji. Mycochin (talk) 10:35, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions with Double Standard and Bias

[edit]

In Shenoy article, you have been consistently removing many prominent Shenoys with an excuse that there are no wiki pages associated with them. Paradoxically you seem to select certain names to delete and yet retain others which too ought to be deleted by using the same criteria. Examining your other deletions in Wikipedia pages, your bias and double standard behavior becomes too conspicuous to not to notice. This observation of your modus operandi leads one to question your neutral point of view and also suspect about your ethics shaddowed with self interests. This is not a good practice at any rate, whether acting as self-appointed editor or not. What's disgraceful is that you are perpetually attacking on notable and internationally renowned Shenoys, perhaps without realizing whether or not you have earned the position to do so. I am not questioning your noteworthyness (and not interested in it anyways.) With all respects, you may need to resolve this matter by self-examination, for your own sake as much as for others who are getting affected (as evident on your web page) when they are not treated with dignity they deserve. This is my polite suggestion - from one Goyekar to other. Thank you.Goyakar501 (talk) 03:39, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your deletions with no explanations in Shenoy are restored

[edit]

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. CMR2020 (talk) 16:46, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

CMR2020: Thank you for protecting the Shenoy page from the vandalism and wrongful deletions by Deepak D'Souza. Please see my message to D'Souza under "Deletions with Double Standard and Bias". The problem is that the names of only selected Prominent Shenoys (who are in fact exceptionally well recognized) are deleted with excuse that they don't have wikipage, but other Shenoys who also don't have wikipage are always kept undeleted. DDD has been doing this to many other wikipages - deleting with no explanations instead of making constructive contributions to wikipedia subject matter. These deletions in Shenoy wikipage appear to be biased and reflecting personal preferences. Appreciate your thoughtful restoration. Thank you. Goyakar501 (talk) 17:30, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You should provide reasoning before you delete

[edit]

DD-You have been deleting names of notable persons from Wikipage Shenoy without providing your reasons why these individuals are not notable. The accomplishments of all of these Shenoys/Shenais are available in the links provided that you can open and read. The independent verification and corroboration has been provided embedded in the descriptions. You should provide your reasons why you delete only certain names (of highly recognized Shenoys) but keep other names that are not at all known (and also do not have independent verifiable evidence anywhere on internet). Hope you read this and provide your reasons. CMR2020 (talk) 00:55, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have initiated a discussion on the talk page. But frankly I had a good laugh at your rather dramatic assertions that I am biased. I am not a Shenoy and it should be plainly understandble that I have no personal stand in this matter. --Deepak D'Souza (talk) 00:59, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your actions speak louder and clear about your bias than your nervous laugh. You should go back to the page of July 1 when you first made your deletions with no adequate explanation for deleted as well as non-deleted. The onus is upon you. Until the conflict resolves, the original page of July 1 before your deletes is the Staus quo. I wait for you to display the correct page. It is your responsibility since you started all this deletions, you must provide your reasons and substantiating evidence first for July 1. Please display that correct page asap. CMR2020 (talk) 12:24, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I re-emphasize the importance of you display the July 1 page before your deletes as Status quo. No discussion will occur until you display this correct page and provide rationale plus substantiating evidence for your deletions as well as non-deletions. I look forward to your co-operation and owning up to your actions. Thank you in anticipation. CMR2020 (talk) 13:42, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dalit Vandalism

[edit]

Thank you for helping me deal with the editors who continually delete well-sourced information on discrimination against Dalits. The two editors (I'm guessing it is actually one guy with two computers) have continually denied every authoritative citation I have provided about Dalit discrimination. The two editors also have some history of deleting sourced information from India-related articles. I would really appreciate anymore help you could provided in improving that article (I am by no means an expert on Dalits or Indian politics, you appear to have a much broader base of information). Thanks again!!! JakeH07 (talk) 17:10, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome. I have requested semi protection after anon has continually reverted your edits. It is probably the same person I have encountered on the page before User:Taprobane made some major improvements to the article. You have done a good job and I will definetly take a more active role. I will also ask some other dedicated Indian authors to contribute. --Deepak D'Souza (talk) 16:30, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great!!! I think, with some work, this could be a great article, maybe even featured. This is a very important issue, not only for India, but for the world. I'm looking forward to having some more learned editors on this article; my knowledge is from what I have read, I've never been to India (though it is on my "list of things to do before I die"!). Please contact me if you need any help in the way of research, grammar, or writing (all things I am very good at). Best Wishes!!! JakeH07 (talk) 03:00, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am totally surprised to read that D'souza is actually helping to stop the vandalism and undo the undue deleting of self-proclaimed editors - especially in light of his unreasonable deletions of other author's works without giving any rational explanations. This is a notable case of split personality, Dr Jeckell and Mr Hyde. There is certainly a saint in every sinner, after all.

You recently reverted some edits at Christianity in India by a blocked IP editor, who then re-reverted them from a different IP address. I've restored your reversion, pending discussion, but I thought you might like to clarify the situation at Talk:Christianity in India#Recent edits. -- Radagast3 (talk) 10:06, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

warfare

[edit]

My dear brother Deepak. I've had a look at the Goa Liberation discussions and see your point. Nevertheless, the 'Colonial War' page was so full of outrageous pro-Portuguese racism that I simply had to jump in and attempt to neutralise it. The article was an endless litany of 'black' this and 'white' that and 'mixed' the other - all with the intent of claiming some kind of harmonious Portuguese benificence - when in reality the colonies were verging on slave plantations. In 300 years, the Portuguese did not build a single university in Angola! The Salazarists are absolutely shameless and make wikipedia seem like an apartheid playground!Ackees (talk) 14:04, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On Goan Inquisition

[edit]

Dear Brother,
Nice to meet you. I am a veteran editor of Wikipedia though almost almost dormant now a days. I want a small help from you. During my stay in France i used to voraciously rad about the great French philosophers like Rousseau, Descartes, Voltaire and Sartre etc., Once while reading one of the works of Voltaire, I came through his quote on Goan Inquisition only after which I started reading about that this whole concept of Inquisition is all about. Now I have presented his quote in the Goan Inquisition page with reference. Though this is English wikipedian page, I have posted it in French, because I am great of Voltaire and I feel once it is translated to another language, the meaning may slightly vary. So I have posted the original French one along with rough English translation. Regarding quotes by two other people Historian Alfredo De Mello and Rajiv Srinivasan I feel more or less they have not quoted anything contrary. But If you feel more evidence should be presented then sure when I get time I bring that. I felt you are regularly visiting this page, so I keep it to you friend. I am a hard-core fan of Roman Catholic art, music but more I read about this Inquisition, the more start loosing faith on the credibility. At last I came to one conclusion, The Church committed lot of dirty things to propagate its faith, but the religion is not bad. I wish God take care of all people who were affected by the cruel acts of Inquisition. I pray for their solace.

I wish to keep more quotes on Goan Inquisition. I used to stay nearby BNF (National Library of France) and used to be regular visitor. I heard from many French people that this Inquisition is not only in Goa but also in many parts of world such as Spain, Portuguese, New World. I feel it is a black spot in the history of Church. Truth can never lead to hatred...Hatred can never lead to peace...

Ok dear friend...keep posting...I wish you all the best in ur wikipedian endeavours...I can occasionaly contribute to this page whenever i get time...I need more references before posting....Anyway, cya..God Bless You... Bsskchaitanya (talk) 10:24, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. If you check the talk page archive there are sufficient reasons by which we had discredited that bit about "severing limbs". I will discuss further on the talk page. --Deepak D'Souza (talk) 04:55, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mangalorean Catholics

[edit]

Hi Deepak, i am messaging you to prevent a possible edit war. The introduction in the article should be about the Mangalorean Catholics. However, i have removed the following para, because i feel that it is unnecessary to mention it in the beginning of the article:

"Portuguese shipping arrived in Mangalore in 1526, and Catholic missionary activities began around 1534, when Canara was placed under the ecclesiastic jurisdiction of the Bishop of Goa."

However, if you disagree, then please feel free to message me at my talk page.

Unreferenced info about Karwar

[edit]

Hi,

The page about Karwar contains content that is heavily unreferenced. To give you an example, the section on 'Languages' states Marathi but as per my knowledge, Marathi isn't spoken in Karwar. Nor does any of that info have any source which is cited. There's only 1 or 2 links which provide no information that reflects what is written on the actual wiki page about Karwar. Could you please look into it and delete information that is unsourced. --Sushilbhandarkar (talk) 16:52, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you recently tried to give List of Andhra Pradesh telecom companies a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Sorry about that, I should have moved the article. Will be carefull next time. --Deepak D'Souza (talk) 07:05, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Hi, please have a look at Patrode. This page cites only two sources which are not reliable - both are self published blogs. Besides, much of what is written on that page constitutes original research. ALL of the content on this page goes against Wikipedia's policies. Also, there's no reliable source that I could find which has information about this dish. I was wondering if nominating it for speedy deletion would be an appropriate thing to do. If so, could you please do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.179.159 (talk) 15:01, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speed deletion is only done under certain cirumstances. I am not sure what CSD criterion will be applicable here. Personally I am not in favour of too many recipes comming onto Wikipedia. But remember one thing, lack of references, and notability are two totally different things. For deletion you will have to make a case of non-notablity. Lack of references is not sufficient reason for deletion. If you are not sure that CSD will be applicable you should submit the article for delition at WP:AFD. As a side note you seem to be a regular contributor. Why not get an account?--Deepak D'Souza (talk) 07:11, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

APPEAL TO YOU Reg: [BRAHMAN PUJAN] , [UNIVERSAL PRAYERS] . written by [Naresh Sonee] On wikipedia , These above two pages are far older than the present article [Brahman] References of above titles are also available on New York site - http://www.printsasia.com/BookDetails.aspx?Id=445813482 Meanwhile, Can your good selves in Wiki Indian Community re-create a precise pages on [Naresh Sonee] & his book [Brahmand Pujan] – [Brahmaand Pujan] . However, Sonee is the writer of this book [Brahmand Pujan] written in 1999 . registered with Government of India- HRRD. Details of the registration is provided here on http://brhmaandpujanbook.tripod.com/ . More than sufficient, news and reviews are there on http://brhmaandpujan-news-reviews.tripod.com/ Since 5-6 yrs, for one or the other reason pages of [Naresh Sonee] & [Brahmand Pujan] are faced by communal bias from outside India so these articles over and again get deleted here in Wikipedia for minor reasons. However, many hits of - Naresh Sonee reflects on google search engine also. So, I request Wiki Indian community to kindly come forward and generously help these two pages to grow, as I am fed up to fight my case alone here [left] and moved out long back. Meanwhile, such an important info/issue on ‘Indian literature’ which adds & spell ‘new meaning /dimension’ to Brahman -should it stay lost else ignored? Your community panel has to judge at last. Myself, will not be on Wikipedia, for the same i apologise, but- pls. help these two pages to get reinstalled, reap, sow and grow, if you too feel so, I appeal to do this munificent favour. Main page appearance

[edit]

Deepak Mangalore will be appearing on the wiki main page. Just received this message today.--PremKudvaTalk 06:59, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on January 5, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 5, 2011. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director, Raul654 (talk · contribs). If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! Konkani Language Babel Language Templates

[edit]

Greetings fellow Konkani,

It is suggested that we translate into Konkani. The idea behind the language templates is to suggest to another user a users proficiency in a particular language. Under this logic, it is only fair that the templates be translated into Konkani. We will enlist our phrases and deliberate thereupon. Phrases based on mutual consent will then be posted.

Please leave suggestions and comments on the Discussion page.

Wikimedia Stories Project

[edit]

Hello,

My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.

I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).

My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.

I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via my email:

Thank you for your time!

I'm redirecting this to Konkani language. Besides Mangalorean Catholics, Goud Saraswat Brahmins are also Mangalorean Konkanis. Maybe worth disambig, but for now the language is of far more general interest. Furthermore, the correct title for an article on Konkani-speaking Mangaloreans would be Mangalorean Konkanis, not Mangalorean Konkani. deOrphaning script

[edit]

Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Opted-out of message delivery to your user talk page.

Quixotic plea

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:43, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
