George MacKay

[edit]

Hi Crboyer, have you seen the George MacKay vandal recently? -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 22:53, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The only edit I've seen from them on George MacKay is [[ https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=George_MacKay_(actor)&diff=prev&oldid=1095827609%7Cthis one]]. And deleting Poison Ivy from Leonardo DiCaprio filmography despite total proof that he was in it. Otherwise, barely anything. $chnauzer 23:12, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If they scutter out and find a new person to deride, I'll let you know.$chnauzer 23:12, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers, I hadn’t noticed anything. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 00:16, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have proof? Otherwise, stop.$chnauzer 06:39, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Crboyer,

Because of some recent video-game related vandalism, I reverted back to the last version of the page you edited. If you believe that I reverted some important content, please feel free to undo my edit. It looks like you keep this article on your Watchlist and are more familiar with it than I am. I was just following two editors and saw that they edited this page today. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:26, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of Disney theatrical animated feature films

[edit]

Can you please restore this page to the latest good revision again? I'm struggling to do it myself (I've never Restored a page before) and it's like playing wack-a-mole with this anonymous editor. Thank you! Listen1st (talk) 17:13, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

I noticed you rudely took down my edit about the “tsavo man-eaters” and i was very surprised because of the source i cited talks about ways the British railroaders could have died. Why did you take such valuable information down? 192.198.63.57 (talk) 17:30, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The edit filter denied your edit.$chnauzer 17:32, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, why there isn't "The Jungle Book 2" in the Upcoming list? 87.5.5.177 (talk) 05:44, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's been five years since we heard anything about it. Who knows if it happen at all. $chnauzer 21:08, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ray (film)

[edit]

I saw you reverted an edit on Ray (film), calling it edit warring. I'm confused, as this is his first edit to the page and it was completely okay. It was a great edit to my eyes, and I thought only improved it. What was the issue? Dialmayo (talk) (Contribs) she/her 13:13, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the links to the full awards and soundtrack pages for the film would have been sufficient for the page. $chnauzer 14:50, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I see now that it was a copy and paste from the page on the soundtrack, which violates WP:CWW. I'll go and inform the editor on the policy. Dialmayo (talk) (Contribs) she/her 15:07, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The "no one needs to revert this [....] I hate stubs" edit summary was a bit off. Then again, I could have and should have worded my edit summary better.$chnauzer 14:55, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

KKK

[edit]

Hello @Crboyer. Are you sure that the it was during the second iteration of the KKK that they started wearing white hooded robes? My source, an article in The New Republic, indicates that it started in the first iteration. Iss246 (talk) 16:23, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I read the article, let me pull up some quotes:

But in 1934, when the mural was painted, the Ku Klux Klan’s white hood had been standardized for only two decades.

For the first edition of [The Clansman], the president of the Society of Illustrators, Arthur I. Keller, depicted the Reconstruction-era Klansmen in an anachronistic uniform of white, shoulder-length, face-concealing hoods beneath spiked caps. Dixon’s theater costumes adapted Keller’s book illustrations and added a conical white hat to the mix.

Among the variety of Klansman costumes in [ The Birth of a Nation ], there appeared a new one: the one-piece, full-face-masking, pointed white hood with eyeholes, which would come to represent the modern Klan.

As historian Elaine Frantz Parsons has written in Midnight Rangers: Costume and Performance in the Reconstruction-Era Ku Klux Klan, while some early Klansmen did wear white, and later Klan mythology would claim they’d dressed up as Confederate ghosts, they usually drew on folk traditions of carnival, circus, minstrelsy, Mardi Gras—or the mid-century “Calico Indians,” hooded and masked farmers rebelling against upstate New York land laws. Klansmen wore gigantic animal horns, fake beards, coon-skin caps, or polka-dotted paper hats; they imitated French accents or barnyard animals; they played guitars to serenade victims. Some Klansmen wore pointed hats suggestive of wizards, dunces, or Pierrots; some wore everyday winter hoods, pillowcases, or flour sacks on their heads. Many early Klansman also wore blackface, simultaneously scapegoating and mocking their victims.

The lack of a formal uniform ...

$chnauzer 17:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

All of those point to there being no formal dress code until the Klan started up again in 1915.$chnauzer 17:17, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Crboyer. Ok. Iss246 (talk) 21:55, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gentle reminder

[edit]

Hi, Crboyer, just a small reminder that legal threats, even veiled ones, shouldn't be made on Wikipedia and can lead to a block, and saying "there are consequences for libel" as you did in this edit summary, toe uncomfortably close to that line. Obviously, the IP editor in question is not operating in good faith, so this one edit is not a huge deal, but even so, we have mechanisms to deal with that on-wiki, so allusions to "consequences" aren't necessary. Thanks, Writ Keeper  20:17, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll keep it in mind. I retract any threats, implied or actual, and apologize to any administrators for the phrasing. CRBoyer 20:18, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question

[edit]

Hi, sorry to bother you, but I saw you are patrolling the Donald Trump article. Can you tell me if that page is currently under WP:CRP rules?

Another editor is telling me I am not allowed to revert their removal. This is in the middle of an ongoing discussion at Talk:Donald Trump#Business career - Golf courses. They are saying there is no consensus to include, therefore I am not allowed to restore an edit by another editor. I'm not an expert on the complexities of consensus.

I saw your edit summary about violating the three revert rule. It doesn't apply to reverting vandalism, abuse and harassment. Any admin blocking you for reverting such content multiple times at once on the same page would be the one in the wrong, not you, so don't worry - please do keep reverting vandalism! :) Acalamari 04:38, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please be mindful of what you revert

[edit]

Hi. Please be mindful when reverting other editors like you did here. Dancers are also important cast members of a movie based on musical theatre like Wicked, especially if credited as part of the cast by the production company, and certainly when notable with a Wikipedia page. Without the dancers, there would be no production. It is not all about big celebrity cast members! Dancers are important too! Thanks. CultureCouture (talk) 14:47, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but by Wikipedia standards, an actor who plays an unnamed character who shows up in one scene isn't a notable cast member.CRBoyer 14:53, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The artist is in multiple scenes as an Emerald City dancer - a role he first danced 24 years earlier in the 2000 and 2001 Flymonkey Productions of The Wiz. He is also the salon owner in part 1 of the movie, and also appears in the upcoming sequel as an Ozian dancer. He is not an obscure dancer. He, and two other older dancers including Kenrick 'H2O' Sandy (MBE) are reprising their roles, 24 years since The Wiz. CultureCouture (talk) 17:50, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
