regarding somalis in norway article
Hi i currently left a whole section of rebuttals on the talk page on a number of sources and what i believe are various misinformation regarding various sources that i believe should be at best rephrased but however no user has voiced their disapproval should i go ahead and add those extra references without removing the references that already exist because i dont intent on removing any evidence on the page just extra references from the sources i feel should be included i am just wondering if any of that is necessary--Kndnm64 (talk) 21:10, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- If there are demonstrable mistakes in the article, then yes, you should go ahead and fix those, Kndnm64. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:18, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

You last edited the white people page.
White people only found America and committed mass genocide when they arrived. They are not original Americans which is common knowledge. I figure since you have some author rites (authority) on the page you should definitely correct some of the lies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A601:AF7F:1300:48B:7537:EA96:C0B6 (talk) 14:20, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Streatham and Clapham High School: your edit restoring the COI/advert template been reverted by Haymans42
Hi CordlessLarry,
I don't want to turn Streatham and Clapham High School into an edit warzone by wading in myself, but wanted to make sure you were aware that Haymans42 has reverted your restoration of the COI/advert template with no explanation offered on their part.
When Haymans42 first made an appearance on the page last year (by reverting my edit) I assumed they were associated with L.hammerlit., given the similarity in editing approach.
However I see that Haymans42 has explicitly denied having any interest in the school on their talk page. Since L.hammerlit's Wikipedia editing activities (including a now-deleted apparently autobiographical page) give a very strong pointer as to their identity, which is one with as close an interest in the school as is possible, the similarly in editing approach between the two users must be a coincidence.
So assuming that Haymans42 is acting in good faith but lacks experience, might it be worth pointing them to other Girls' Day School Trust pages if they want to get an idea of how they might present the school in a Wikipedia-compliant fashion? E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putney_High_School has a more restrained approach.
This might help because currently Haymans42 seems to have very limited editing experience on Wikipedia: to date, the "Streatham and Clapham High School" page is the only one they have ever edited. A less florid page without the need for a COI/advert template seems like it would be the best outcome for all concerned.
I hesitate to suggest this to Haymans42 directly: since my only interaction with them has been their attempting to revert my edits, I think it's unlikely they would listen to any suggestions from me: but I wondered if they might be more receptive to an approach from you.
Thanks, West Streatham Resident (talk) 18:37, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
- I'll revert the template removal, West Streatham Resident, and explain why. There's no reason for you not to make the suggestion about using other articles as examples yourself though, so I'll leave that to you. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:37, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back - have tried to offer a constructive suggestion to Haymans42 on how they might proceed, it would be good to have more sources on the history. West Streatham Resident (talk) 17:13, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

Those were corrections of a web address due to a reorganisation of the site. She's a new editor and I know that she was simply trying to be useful. Do you think you could at least reword your comment to make it more userfriendly? I know her and she's made a major contribution to the fight against fringe archaeology and history. Reverting good faith addition to list of people who walked across australia
Hi Cordless Larry, I see that you removed an edit for the list of people who have walked across Australia on the grounds that the source was unreliable. If you click on any of the points on the google map provided you will see a link to a Garmin triathlon biometric data log. Every step, heartbeat, pause and meter of elevation of the journey has been accurately logged and published by a reliable third party (garmin). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shinks10 (talk • contribs) 12:05, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, {{u|Shinks10}. I left a note explaining this at User talk:Shinks10#March 2020. The problem is that the data log tells us nothing about who undertook the walk, or any of the other details that you added to the article. What we really need is independent coverage of the walk - for example in a newspaper. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:50, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
Zehra Bajraktarević
Hello,
Thank you for your efforts to help improve article Zehra Bajraktarevic(english version). This page is the translated version of the Bosnian language article of the same person. I improved it with multiple reference and a photo which cannot be found anywhere else on the internet and which I currently only possess. I received permission from the artist 2 years ago to go forward with translating the page. I hope this has been helpful to you.

- Hello, Tvrtko Kotromanic. Thanks for your efforts to reference the article, but please stop removing the POV template without resolving the issue. The article is written in completely the wrong tone for Wikipedia, and needs to be rewritten to present a neutral point of view on the subject. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:27, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

- Hello, Burco18. I tried to explain in my edit summary, and left a message on your talk page. Nicholas David Heath
It came to my concern you just deleted Nicholas David Heath Wikipedia page because of advertisement. May I know what kind of advertisement was on the page? You said because of
g11 This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to serve as encyclopaedia articles, rather than advertisements. If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion. Note: Any article that describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion. However, "promotion" does not necessarily mean commercial promotion: anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonytownley333 (talk • contribs) 18:21, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- The article had a promotional tone overall, Anthonytownley333, and made unsupported claims such as the subject's Medium posts being notable. Please see WP:YFA for guidance on how articles should be written. To be honest, though, I doubt that the subject here meets the criteria for a Wikipedia article, which are summarised at WP:GOLDENRULE. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:58, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Well could you undelete the page please, then I could delete that portion pf the Wikipedia page. Anthonytownley333 (talk) 02:21, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
- As I state above, Anthonytownley333, the overall tone is promotional, rather than one particular portion. I will, however, e-mail you the text of the deleted article in case it's helpful in writing a more neutral version to submit for review. That said, if I'm right in my feeling that the subject doesn't meet the notability criteria, then you'd be wasting your time doing so. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:22, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Alright thanks I appreciate your assistance Anthonytownley333 (talk) 07:39, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Does an article edited by someone else automatically get resubmitted?
Hi Cordless Larry Re my article on singer songwriter Lee Fardon I didn't see your comment which you say you deleted so no worries. However I wonder if you can help me as I don't seem to be able to contact directly the others that left me comments on this thread. 1) I think they are saying that I need to resubmit my article again after the edits they have made. Is this right? 2) I am being told that I do not have reliable sources. I have read the Wiki item on this but a lot of it doesn't really apply to the kind of article I am submitting which is about a well regarded living singer songwriter. I have given published sources from well known music publications with dates and authors names. Is this not reliable? I have looked at a lot of other musicians wiki entries including those who have worked with Lee. They don't seem to have as many "reliable sources" as the one I am submitting so I am confused.
Examples with links to Lee fardon that I have looked at are: Helen Rogers (backing Singer on Lee Fardon's Album Too Close to the Fire, 1992). Lee Fardon is mentioned in her article. Dik Cadbury (base player on Lee's album London Clay and subsequent gigs to date) see Diks discography Jan Schelhaas (played keyboards on Lee's album The God Given Right) |Lee Fardon is mentioned in Jan's article
Lee Fardon is also cited on the following Wikis articles: Arista Records artists Rockfield studio artist List of songs about New York City, under Broadway (actually this is wrong its about Tooting Broadway in London!!) Chris Demetriou (produced Lee's Fast at 17 on which Annie Lennox sang) Cold River Lady - Lee Fardon mentioned (Will Wright played with Lee)
I appreciate that I cannot include other Wiki entries as reliable sources and am mentioning them to you only to 1) demonstrate that others who have worked with Lee have Wiki entries that seem far less comprehensive and fewer reliable sources cited and 2) to demonstrate that Lee Fardon is a recognized and acclaimed artist who has been cited in several Wiki articles. Could you please explain how my article falls short of reliable sources.
I'm obviously missing the point but don't really understand how. Would you be kind enough to look at the articles mentioned above and compare with my draft submission (as it now stands following other's editing) before I resubmit. I'm hoping you have a bit of time on your hands during this lockdown! Thank you and stay safe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fencedown (talk • contribs) 12:10, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, the draft needs to be resubmitted if you want it reviewed again, Fencedown. There are lots of old articles that are of poor quality, but it's best to ignore those when writing a new article, as since the draft review system was introduced, higher standards are being applied. Eventually, the old articles that wouldn't have made it through review will hopefully be improved or deleted. Cordless Larry (talk) 14:39, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Request to amend Genghis Khan's birth date to Early November
This info from Official Site of the Mongolian government :
The celebration was started after a group of researchers at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences concluded that Chinggis Khaan was born in the year A.D. 1162 on the first day of the first month of winter on the Mongolian lunar calendar. Therefore, that became the official date of the new holiday.
The date of Chinggis Khaan’s Birthday changes on the Gregorian Calendar, but it normally comes sometime in early November.
Chinggis Khaan’s enduring fame stems from his exploits as “the greatest” of all Mongolian conquerors. His vast empire was extended still further by his successors until it became the largest in all history.
The main events in the celebration of Chinggis Khaan’s Birthday take place in Mongolia’s capital city of Ulan Bator. At Sukhbaatar Square, there will be wreath-laying ceremonies by a monument with a gigantic Chinggis Khaan statue. There is also a flag-raising ceremony, with a military guard of honour present. You will also see a large parade with dancing and people dressed in traditional Mongolian attire.
The nation’s most prestigious award, the Order of Genghis Khan is presented to the worthy in the presidential palace on this day as well.
And this a line site :

Two Things: Edits to Sir Charles Asgill (changing to permalinks) and feedback on Talk:Cal_Cunningham#Information_on_PPP_loan_to_Waste_Zero
Hello Cordless Larry,
Just wanted to write a brief message on two things. The first is that I just made some edits to the article on Sir Charles Asgill. I changed what I've been calling "search result links" to what Founders.archives.gov is calling permalinks. I also added Internet Archive links as well. So this is what I've been doing now for a few months because the search result links over time can go to a different document.
The second thing is that there is a disagreement between me and two other editors (Neutrality, Mx._Granger) on the article on Cal Cunningham who is running for the US Senate in the state of North Carolina. I honestly didn't think there would be any objection to my edit, but of course there can be differences of opinion. So please feel free to offer any thoughts on it.
Perhaps you can persuade either me of the other editors to change perspective.
Talk:Cal_Cunningham#Information_on_PPP_loan_to_Waste_Zero
Jjjjjjjjjj (talk) 06:21, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the former, Jjjjjjjjjj. Reading more into it, it seems that the "early access links" aren't permanent either, so we'll need to keep an eye on those too. How annoying - although the archive links help. On the latter, I have very little knowledge of the context, so I'm not well placed to comment I'm afrad. Perhaps you should start an RfC if agreement can't be reached? Cordless Larry (talk) 07:43, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- I've just been checking it every few weeks or so, and it hasn't been the case that they've been generated at such a fast rate that it gets to be a major job. Also, the search result link doesn't go bad right away, but only after a bit of time when additional documents are added.
- But it is true that they do go bad. Before I started working on it I thought it might be the case that maybe it was just a few that had gone bad. My recollection is that when checking out Washington's aides-de-camp I saw that that wasn't so much the case.
- If curious one can go to the version of the page from 01:19, 3 October 2019 and see that reference 52 is intended to be a letter from Marquis de Fleury to Alexander Hamilton from 1778, but instead the link goes to a letter from George Washington to Samuel Huntington dated 5 November 1779. Similarly references 60, and 61 have also gone bad inasmuch as the links are based on results 3113 and 3282 of a query for "Smith". But with Smith such a common name more documents could be added which would change the offset for those particular ones.
- The discussion at Talk:Cal_Cunningham#Information_on_PPP_loan_to_Waste_Zero has been going okay, and so I just posted there a little while ago.
Sockpuppet
Hello Cordless Larry,
I blocked indefinitely this user on fr.wp, it's undoubtedly Moe szylak. He is currently active cross-wiki (fr, en, es...)
A checkuser request is on the way but it will take some time ; maybe a request to checkusers on en.wp could be faster?
Many thanks! --d-n-f (talk) 08:13, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

British Pakistanis
A second pair of eyes would be appreciated over at Talk:British Pakistanis#Sectarianism. IMO the initial editor is acting sincerely, but is SYNTHING a bit and doesn't understand that British Muslims, British Urdu readers and British Pakistanis are not synonymous, nor that a squabble within the Muslim world might not belong on the British Pakistanis page. The content concerns antipathy between mainstream Muslims and Ahmadi - who appear to be a sect of Islam, or an Islamic heresy, depending on your pov, (I had never heard of them to be honest). A secomd editor has appeared, mysteriously inserting the same content in his first edits (always a bit suspect). Pincrete (talk) 19:55, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Portuguese Empire in List of largest empires
Hello Cordless Larry, I hope everything is fine. I have one question about content on the list List of largest empires, I went to search more about the content of Portuguese Empire, and in the list is wrong, and they recently changed. First of all, there is to say that Portugal controlled approximately 5.5% of Brazil, so there it is wrong Exist one map from (1821) portrays the dimension of Brazil at the time under the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves, (Source): National Library of Portugal, Portuguese Republic, "Exhibition": http://purl.pt/ 880/3 / General Website: http://www.bnportugal.gov.pt and also see in wikimedia https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Império_Português#/media/Ficheiro:Brasil_1821_-_América_Portuguesa.jpg there is even a book with the area (source) Society and Education in Brazil By Robert J. Havighurst, J. Roberto Moreira (link) https://books.google.pt/books?id=u65BLiP8qXEC&pg=PA60&dq=Portuguese+Empire+kilometers+km2&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiwmaLZxaDsAhWbA2MBHdzLDr8Q6AEwBXoECAYQAg%20202020 = false I did a study by Jesse H. Ausubel and his studies are very good and supported by several people and entities. He studied not only empires, but several studies related to the humanities. "From 1989 to 1993, he served as director of studies for the Carnegie Commission on Science, Technology, and Government, which aimed to improve the use of scientific experience in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the US government, as well as in international organizations. Mr. Ausubel was the main organizer of the first UN World Climate Conference (Geneva, 1979), which raised the issue of global warming substantially on the scientific and political agendas. "
is also a joint project with International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis and Rockefeller University. they even wrote an academic manual - link: https://phe.rockefeller.edu/docs/empires_booklet.pdf In other words, it is a project that involves, human sciences, history and statistical analysis ... Jesse H. Ausubel besides the project being his. in addition to these various projects, including empires, he is also a scientist and the journal the The New York Times even mentioned him in some discoveries he made https://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/26/science/26ausubel .html he says there that the Portuguese empire reached 13.4 million km2, and sees an empire as a whole.
I also carried out another study of the famous "Zbigniew Brzezinski" that can be used in the area of the second Portuguese empire in the list (10.4million km2)
"Strategic Vision: America and the Crisis of Global Power By Zbigniew Brzezinski - link: https://books.google.pt/books?id=u65BLiP8qXEC&pg=PA60&dq=Portuguese+Empire+kilometers+km2&hl=pt-PT&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiwmaLZxaDsAhWbA2MBHdzLDr8Q6AEwBXoECAYQAg#v=onepage&q=81%2F2%20million%20square%20kilometers&f=false I think there are well-known sources here and realible sources, for the empire to be changed on the list.
Thanks!! Best Regards.

Why are you deleting the correct information that has been posted on Wikipedia relating to some stuttering programs? — Preceding unsigned comment added by London 1994 (talk • contribs) 20:31, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Larry,
Can you please let me know where you are getting your information form? The information that was posted is sourced from the founder members of the McGuire Program. Where are you sourcing your information from so I can point you to the correct person so you can correct your information? Many thanks and I look forward to getting this resolved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by London 1994 (talk • contribs) 21:04, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not getting information from anywhere, London 1994, as I'm not the one adding material to the article. I simply removed material that wasn't supported by published sources. Please see WP:VERIFY. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
When you say published sources what exactly do you mean? The McGuire program has been here for 25 years and has a published website and has and has many many articles and documentaries produced and published on it. Why are you disputing it - sorry please help me understand - do you work for Wikipedia or someone else? Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by London 1994 (talk • contribs) 21:16, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- Like pretty much everyone here, I'm a volunteer, London 1994. You're saying there are sources, but you didn't cite them when adding/restoring the material. Moreover, you restored content to an article about Starfish Project too, and I don't see how articles about the McGuire programme would support that content. Sources that are independent of the article subject would be best, rather than those written by members of the organisation itself. See WP:RS. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:28, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for explaining, so you are an administrator. Would websites count as sources or could you please give me more clarity on what the various types of sources are? Regarding Starfish, that organization was born from the McGuire Programm as it is a direct copycat of the program. thanks again and I look forward to finding out exactly what "sources" are? Do the founders count as sources? Thanks again - PS I assume you are in the UK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by London 1994 (talk • contribs) 22:25, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- People aren't sources, London 1994, although they do write them. If you read WP:RS, you'll understand what's likely to be acceptable as a source. A claim that one organisation is a copy of another would also require a source that establishes that if that's what the article is to say. Cordless Larry (talk) 06:52, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you Larry, although it's still very unclear and no simple answer or definition as to what a source really is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by London 1994 (talk • contribs) 10:18, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

I am an anonymous editor with no aspirations other than give detailed info on the Tzaims Luksus page or where he is mentioned on Wikipedia. I have meant no harm but am not familiar with what is not allowed. I added listing of his showing at HOtel Crillon in Paris. It is documented but I am not familiar with the procedure to notate it. Not being allowed to edit I give up doing any more on Wikipedia since When I do you shoot me down. I would appreciate it if you restored that he is a Renaissance Man and allow Hotel Crillon Added. Hello Larry, why was this blocked? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Deaftalent_Movement_(2012) I created this page last year. Can you please unblock it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 17:03, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- That account was blocked because the username violates Wikipedia's username policy, which prohibits usernames representing organisations. In any case, you shouldn't be using more than one account, Jade Bryan. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:10, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- If you meant to ask why the page was deleted, it was because it wasn't suitable for a userpage, which should only be used for the purpose of giving details about the Wikipedia editor that the account belongs to. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:14, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
For example, Google took down a page the same group created when I showed them my certificate of registration. It is confusing with my movement I started. This is why I was asking if there was a way to take it down. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeafTalent — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 17:11, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't see that there's anything that can be done about that confusion. If you want the existing article to mention your movement as well, and explain the different, you could suggest that on the article's talk page by following the instructions at WP:COIREQ. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:14, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Right. That's what I thought I did. So what I need to do is create it under a new account or can I have someone else create a new page under their account? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 17:17, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
DeafTalent Movement (2012) was created by itself. It's not supposed to be under the same account with Jade Bryan. So I'm confused. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 17:20, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- I don't really understand what you're asking. Create what? If you want something to be added to DeafTalent, you'll need to request that (using your account) at Talk:DeafTalent, by following the instructions at WP:COIREQ. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:30, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
The existing article has nothing to do with what we do. They co-opted our movement in 2015 and put the focus on white deaf people. I have proofs. This is why I have created the user names last year in the first place and you blocked them. Now, again. When I created DeafTalent, it was intended to be a separate account. What if I cancel Jade Bryan account. It seem to log in under that account when I want to log in on DeafTalent or the other account. I think you're not being fair.
Our movement centers on Deaf people of color with different goal.
- DEAFTALENT® movement raises awareness for deaf talent who identify as POC, Black & other ethnicities, including those with other intersectional
identities (LGBT+) who have been systematically boxed out of the Film & TV industry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 17:41, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- You appear to be confusing user accounts and articles, Jade Bryan. It doesn't matter what your account name is as long as it conforms with the username policy and you only have one. Regardless of what your account name is, to create an article about this movement, you'd have to follow the instructions at Help:Your first article. If you need help with that process, you can ask at Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:49, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
If someone else writes the article using about our specific movement using user name DeafTalent Movement (2012), will they be able to or will you unblock it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jade Bryan (talk • contribs) 18:00, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- No, because organisation names are not allowed as usernames. Someone else can set up an account and try to write the article, but their username should be their real name or a pseudonym, not the name of an organisation. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:50, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

External Link added
Hi Larry,
thank you for your feedback. With regards to the Wikipedia Gudielines I have studied them I I think my addition is well in line with them, esp. they are not commercial and specifically related to the subject of the page where the link has been added.
Regarding the value of the content of the information accessed by the link I would like to point out a few points which are described on the linked page. If you glance through the bibliography section of any number of Nobel Prize for Literature Laureates you will realize that they come with any number of different formats, and all rather incomplete. My page takes a systematic approach to the texts written by an author rather than only the books that publish some of their works. For comparison you realize that a discography is not the same as a list of works by a composer. in addition to this new focus the page also gives a systematic approach to translations of the text the author. Many publishers do not think it is necessary to give the title of the original work but give us only a translation, sometimes even with a different title. Or the publishers publish a book with short stories of an author, the book having the same title as the book originally published, but with a different content. Now I agree that this approach of mine to the work of a Nobel Prize laureate is rather scientific and mostly serves the scientific community. But I do not think that it is in conflict with the enzyclopedic content of Wikipedia.
Best regards, Bo Zett (talk) 09:09, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, Bo Zett. I initially reverted your addition of the link because I presumed from the copyright notice at the bottom of the page concerned that the site was a commercial one, and I didn't see that linking to it was of much value. There's also what I presume is a typo on the page ("Available Reportse"), which made me doubt whether the site is subject to editorial control. From your explanation, I can now see that there might be some value in linking to it, but please do note what it says about spamming at WP:SELFCITE. It might be worth getting other opinions on the addition of these links at WP:ELN. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:08, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

persistent vandal ("AbysinniaGuard")
Cordless Larry:
Hello. I wanted to alert you to a persistent vandal ("AbysinniaGuard") who you have reproached multiple times for their editing activity on Wikipedia. I know this from reading their "talk" info. I looked into this person after noticing they have been vandalizing multiple Ethiopia articles with false information in the last several days. I am new to the editing world on Wikipedia and am wondering how someone can continue to operate with virtual impunity like this and what can be done about it.
In terms of the recent vandalism, it is politically motivated editing related to the current civil war occurring in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. This individual is going into articles about towns and districts in the Tigray Region and changing the content to falsely reflect that they are under the jurisdiction of a rival region in Ethiopia (the Amhara Region), which has no basis in law or official government policy (e.g., the article about the Ethiopian town Alamata). I am trying to correct/restore the articles, but I am wondering what can be done to hold this person accountable for persistent vandalism. 108.48.44.199 (talk) 01:24, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

- It wasn't me who added the template, but Flickerd. I did revert your addition of material to the article that lacked references to sources, as I explained in my edit summary. I could also have mentioned that the material was promotional. Articles shouldn't describe people as "inspirational" or "stellar" in Wikipedia's voice. If someone has described Holland as that in a reliable source, they can be quoted, but Wikipedia needs to maintain a neutral point of view. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:12, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
