I just want to say that Boris Yeltsin circling over Shannon diplomatic incident is a very good and detailed article. It made some interesting reading for me having not really known much about the incident before. It's always nice to see new pages like this of lesser known history relating to Ireland. 2017 Military Historian of the Year and Newcomer of the Year nominations and voting
As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. For the co-ordinators, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
User group for Military Historians
Greetings,
"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive
G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
- updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Invitation to join Women in Red
Thank you for creating several articles on women and their works over the past few weeks. We have become aware of your contributions thanks to research undertaken by Bobo.03 at the University of Minnesota. We think you might be interested in becoming a member of our WikiProject Women in Red where we are actively trying to reduce Wikipedia's content gender gap. You can join by using the box at the top of the WiR page. But if you would like to receive news of our activities without becoming a member, you can simply add your name to our mailing list. In any case, thank you for actively contributing to the coverage of women (currently, 17.63% of English Wikipedia's biographies).

Edit warring
Your recent editing history at Brian Martin (social scientist) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Edit at the intersection of BLP and PSCI
Editing on topics about living people where advocacy for pseudoscience is involved, is difficult. These are two important policies in Wikipedia, and both have discretionary sanctions on them. Please go slowly. Jytdog (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home
Hi, Auguste. Your perspective would be welcome at the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home article, which I've been working on again of late. Part of the problem with the article is the timeline - the 2012 HSE reports (mostly on child trafficking), which were largely ignored by the media and therefore have relatively few sources; and the subsequent furore over the mass grave. I've been trying to more accurately reflect the WP:BESTSOURCES (with a small but vocal opposition) but other eyes, especially from a historian, would be welcome. I've asked on WP:Ireland but no takers. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 16:52, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

AB, the ip editor I reverted is a prolific sock. Please see the SPI associated with HughD's account. The sock has used a number of Chicago area IP addresses and one of the two addresses in question today was used previously. Per EVADE we can remove the edits. It's also best to not reward the behavior by letting the edits stand. I've pinged NeilN as one of the admins familiar with the case. Springee (talk) 23:56, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Moylist Construction Limited v Doheny
Hello AugusteBlanqui,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Moylist Construction Limited v Doheny for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

- Hi @Boleyn:, thanks for the feedback on List of Irish Supreme Court cases. Just to clarify, the "citation" column of the table contains a direct link to the decision of each case (unless it is a so-called "unreported" case--then there is no link). AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers
For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello, AugusteBlanqui. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "J & E Davy v. Financial Services Ombudsman & anor".

New page reviewer granted
Hi AugusteBlanqui. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog (around 6,000 pages) down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Barkeep49 (talk) 19:36, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
some help in getting started==
Very good work, & a few fine points.
- Marine Ecosystem Assessment for the Southern Ocean] was promotional when you approved--check the wording of the MEASO 2018 section, especially the third paragraph. The rest of it also is worded as an organizational handout. I would have declined, but since it's an appropriate subject for an article, I've just fixed it.
- at DraftMultiphoton microscopy, you asked in a comment " Is there an easy way to clean up the reflist so that the citations are in-text? " There is no easy way--the refs have to be individually checked or guessed at-- to see where they go. . But there's something more basic, and the AFCH picked it up: there is extensive overlap with the much more sophisticated articles Second-harmonic imaging microscopy and Two-photon excitation microscopy. When there's this much overlap, we decline, and I did so.This will need cleaning up by an expert, & I've notified one.
- Robert D. Mckenzie was OK, but there were so many errors in the writing that I would normally fix it & normalize it either before or after accepting it, since academic faculty is my special field --though I do not think most reviewers do that (if it was from a class, it should have been checked further before being submitted) . (I took care of the problems)
- Alaska Native Industries Cooperative Association had one of the grammar errors I try to do something about : "..supply issues caused by World War II would cause federal officials in the Bureau of Indian Affairs to conclude ..." is not idiomatic--it should be caused, not would cause, & the error is present throughout the article. I decided to just tag it.
- @DGG: Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I missed the promotional content in MEASO. I ran it through Earwig Copyvio and it was clean and I had heard of it so I approved it. I'll be sure to look closer for promotional language going forward. AugusteBlanqui (talk) 09:25, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

New Page Review newsletter December 2019
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.
Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.
Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.
Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

- Redirect autopatrol
A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.
- Source Guide Discussion
Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.
- This month's refresher course
While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

Merry Christmas!
BOZ (talk) is wishing you a Merry Christmas! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Don't eat yellow snow!
Spread the holiday cheer by adding {{subst:User:Flaming/MC2008}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings". :) BOZ (talk) 21:42, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:DPP v. Tyndall
Hello, AugusteBlanqui. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "DPP v. Tyndall".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020
Hello AugusteBlanqui/Archives 2022,
- Source Guide Discussion
The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.
- Redirects
New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.
- Discussions and Resources
- There is an ongoing discussion around changing notifications for new editors who attempt to write articles.
- A recent discussion of whether Michelin starred restraunts are notable was archived without closure.
- A resource page with links pertinent for reviewers was created this month.
- A proposal to increase the scope of G5 was withdrawn.
- Refresher
Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:16, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Wargames
Hi there! Good work on starting Wargamer's Digest. Between other projects, I have been working with User:Guinness323 to create articles on missing Origins Award winners, starting with the oldest ones, including wargame topics such as Manassas (wargame), La Bataille de la Moscowa, JagdPanther (magazine), Avalanche: The Salerno Landings, Mayday (game), Napoleon at Leipzig, Cityfight: Modern Combat in the Urban Environment, Ironclads (board game), System 7 Napoleonics, and others if you are interested in the topic in general. :) BOZ (talk) 22:30, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- @BOZ: Nice! Is the idea that being an Origins Award winner satisifies GNG outright? I assume YES but I've come to learn that my idea of what constitutes the sum of all human knowledge differs from other editors.AugusteBlanqui (talk) 08:32, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- I figure that an award-winner which has also received at least one or two more reviews and/or other RS sources is pretty good for surviving anyone's deletion attempts. :) BOZ (talk) 12:07, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Dominic Ondoro in the state of Minnesota (USA)
Greetings, AugusteBlanqui! Thanks for your careful watch of the Minnesota page. I added Ondoro to the watch of Minnesota because he holds two major marathon course records—both the marathons are in the state of Minnesota. He has also had unheralded domination of the largest marathon in the state. It makes him somewhat of a state hero, in the way that Dick Beardsley and Phil Coppess have been. He is African, of course, but the state also has a large African diaspora too, which could make this even more relevant. I take the view that Ondoro is similar to other professional athletes who are from different countries, but play in the state for only two or three months and then go back home. But I'm open to other views too! Comm260 ncu (talk) 16:17, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Irish Supreme Court Case Articles
(copied from my post at the new article curation / review page) I sort of alternate, looking for "easier" (= compliant and well written) articles in newer feeds and then taking on the tougher older open ones. I ran across some of the articles that you noted while doing the former. What a great contribution to Wikipedia! Well written articles, on encyclopedic topics that need coverage in Wikipedia. My only "yellow alert" during reviewing was that they looked TOO well written and so I did a lot a checking for copied text.......in essence that the quotes from sources were identified as quotes. And they also looked good in that respect. Please pass along big "thumbs up" to everyone involved on this great contribution to Wikipedia. Sincerely,North8000 (talk) 23:59, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
Your view
Hello AugusteBlanqui, since you were the second editor to decline this article, could you please review the article again (although it was declined again today - I was hoping it would pass this time, with the great work by Fylindfotberserk on adding more reliable sources). Generally, I have seen many articles with one or more reliable sources passed to the main space, but I am unsure how this page which has at least four reliable sources fail. Could you also please give your view if in case it fails again. Thank you. Tolly4bolly 11:20, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hello @Tolly4bolly:, the best strategy is to look at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(films) especially the section "Other evidence of notability." I actually think you are close--the film appears to have been so bad that it has attracted news coverage. I would try to find a few other sources that slate it and then add something to the lead like, "the film provoked widespread criticism and condemnation." Add a section developing the defense the director makes. If you make these few small changes let me know and I'll take a look at it! AugusteBlanqui (talk) 16:19, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Autopatrolled user rights
Hi. At the moment when you create an article it goes into the queue to be reviewed and doesn’t get indexed by search engines until a reviewer has checked it. If you become autopatrolled you don’t have to wait to be reviewed. To request this user right please see here. If you’d prefer to keep getting reviewer feedback that’s fine, just apply whenever you’re ready. All the best, Mccapra (talk) 16:36, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks@Mccapra:, I will request the permission but I'm not sure I actually create enough articles to get it. The Supreme Court articles have been a year-long project involving other people. This is why we were able to get so many articles. When I'm working on my own my output is nowhere near as productive! AugusteBlanqui (talk) 18:59, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- ok I’ll leave it with you. The critical thing isn’t so much volume as reliability. The care you take with the articles you bring into mainspace is the thing that made me suggest it. They’re all well thought through, properly sourced, well linked etc. and if the community can be confident that all your articles will be like that, it doesn’t matter if you only create one a year. All the best. Mccapra (talk) 19:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Autopatrolled granted
Hi AugusteBlanqui, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 19:27, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice
Hi AugusteBlanqui/Archives 2022, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.
Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.
To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!
Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Hi AugusteBlanqui. Just a quick note to thank you for your attempts to introduce some sanity and perspective in the Brian Martin article. Hello AugusteBlanqui/Archives 2022,
- Your help can make a difference
NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

Madeleine Zabriskie Doty -- inaccurately tagged as copyright violation
Hi there -- the source material for Madeleine Zabriskie Doty is tagged CC-BY and noted as such in the references. The creators of this content did this so that people would re-use the information on Wikipedia. Could you please revert your changes and remove the template? Let me know if I can help explain Creative Commons licensing. Shockofsputnik (talk) 13:22, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @Shockofsputnik:, I'll remove the blatant copyright tag but there's still an issue with copy/paste of CC-BY material. See mos:quote. A passage that is a direct quote from a source (regardless of its copyright) with a footnote should be distinguishable from a passage that is a paraphrase with a footnote. The original article did not accomplish this. AugusteBlanqui (talk) 14:53, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @AugusteBlanqui:, thanks for making that change! But no, it's not the case that direct text needs to be quoted in all cases, no matter what. Wikipedia itself was started by wholesale copy and paste of encyclopediae in the public domain. This article is the repurposing of something that is itself a tertiary source -- a biographical article in an archival guide. It doesn't need to be paraphrased or quoted. Shockofsputnik (talk) 15:19, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Shockofsputnik:, I'm stuck in essay-grading mode and academic writing style. It seems strange to me to insert text whole cloth without it being distinguishable from original text but feel free to revert my deletions. AugusteBlanqui (talk) 17:46, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter
Hello AugusteBlanqui/Archives 2022,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.
Rank | Username | Num reviews | Log |
---|---|---|---|
1 | DannyS712 bot III (talk) | 67,552 | Patrol Page Curation |
2 | Rosguill (talk) | 63,821 | Patrol Page Curation |
3 | John B123 (talk) | 21,697 | Patrol Page Curation |

9 | Hughesdarren (talk) | 4,520 | Patrol Page Curation |
10 | Utopes (talk) | 3,958 | Patrol Page Curation |
- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Original research issues
About two years ago, students in one of your classes worked to update Indigenous American philosophy. Unfortunately, I think through a combination of poor sourcing and WP:SYNTHetic original research, the article in my estimation turned out rather poorly and likely should not be hosted by Wikipedia. I'm just letting you know that I removed much of that text here: [4]. If you have any thoughts or ideas about this, please feel free to drop me a line. I am not entirely sure what to do with that page anyway. jps (talk) 19:11, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Bruenor Battlehammer and Catti-brie
Thanks for your work on the Yuan-ti draft. Do you have any additional material that could help get Draft:Bruenor Battlehammer published back as an article again? For that matter, if you have anything to help with the notability issues on Catti-brie that would be appreciated as well. They are two of the four main protagonists in a new game that was released this week. BOZ (talk) 20:32, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021
Hello AugusteBlanqui/Archives 2022,
Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.
Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.
At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.
There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.
Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here. Sent to 827 users. 04:30, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News
Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.
- AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
- The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.
Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:59, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

- @Iamreallygoodatcheckers:This was a terrible decision. I realize you may have self-doubt about based on Uyghur genocide, and you made the right decision there with A, but if you are going to revert your closes on topics relating to fascism and genocide then you should avoid these topics from the start. AugusteBlanqui (talk) 09:14, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- My intention was not to self-revert on either. I believe I made the wrong decision at the Uyghur genocide one. This Franco one is tough, I think we can both agree the sources you provided in my talk are beneficial and needed to be in the discussion. I hope they can cement the consensus and make it clear with no doubt or dispute. Happy editing! Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 03:13, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
