Speedy deletion nomination of File:Avenues night.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Avenues night.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fvuukrw7ih0qb1.png and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Ирука13 08:28, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Iruka13 The reddit post was my own post. Please explain how I can prove it. Anonpriest (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Even if the Reddit account where this image was posted is yours, that doesn't in any way prove that the image (ie. the copyright thereof) is yours, which is the issue at stake here. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:44, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing Here's a photo I had taken just before taking the one I had uploaded, notice the date of the image and the angle, lighting, camera angle etc : https://imgur.com/a/date-of-image-cgitTmX?third_party=1
- I had uploaded the reddit post on September 23 2023 Anonpriest (talk) 08:59, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Let me rephrase that for you: "here's another image that someone has posted on another website".
- What does that tell us about who owns the copyright in the image uploaded to Wikipedia? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:03, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing I uploaded this image around the same time as another image
- (Juffair night.jpg) which was also taken from the same phone in the same country and that photo has been properly uploaded as it has been verified as being original. Why would I post one original photo and another stolen photo? Is there any way you reckon I can prove that the photo is indeed mine? The phone I took the photo with is my old one that I've replaced since so send suggestions of providing proof accordingly thank you. Anonpriest (talk) 09:09, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Here's a post that I made on r/wikipedia seeking help using the same reddit account
- https://www.reddit.com/r/wikipedia/comments/1h9f19c/how_to_prove_that_a_photo_i_want_to_upload_on/
- And here's me following one of the comment's advice.

- Hope this works as any proof. Anonpriest (talk) 09:26, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
