Amanda Cerny
Hello,
You recently deleted Amanda Cerny. Lately a couple SPAs have been trying to create the article with various self published and IMDB references. I've been putting it back to a redirect to List of Playboy Playmates of 2011#October and suggesting that they go through the process at Articles for Creation. Just today, another editor who has only been seriously editing for about a week has moved the AFC article to AmandaCerny (note the lack of a space between first and last names). They obviously aren't too familiar with Wikipedia, otherwise they would have titled it correctly and fixed the format problems with the article. Additionally, the article still relies heavily on self published sources and IMDB. I don't have time to fix it all now and I'm not even really sure how to fix it. Can the article be moved back to AFC until it's fixed? I'd appreciate your opinion or your bold action in what you feel is right in this situation. Thanks for reading, Dismas|(talk) 22:06, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Johnny Cash
Opus88888 has taken it upon himself to repeatedly blank out the referenced claim that Cash is one of the "most influential musicians of the 20th century", simply because Opus regards this as "exaggeration". My warnings to Opus have not been effective, in fact he basically dared me to report him for vandalism. I'd like an admin to step in before this escalates any further. As I said on the article talk page, none of us gets to remove cited information simply because we disagree with it. Thanks. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 14:35, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Although in principle you are correct on what you say here, I am not knowledgeable on the subject and do not have the time to research. Maybe you should ask a ANI where you would get way more exposure to the issue. -- Alexf(talk) 14:42, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Michael Spitzer
You deleted a page for Michael Spitzer that linked from the tag "Arthur MacArthur IV" on his dad's page (Douglas). What was the story with that one? Also why no info on him? He's a public figure whether he wants to be or not. 68.105.248.103 (talk) 03:02, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- If you give me a link to it as requested in item #1 in this edit page, I'd be happy to look and try to get info for an answer. I looked at the 3,000 most recent deletions and did not find it. It is impossible to remember every article. There is a reason for this simple request as explained above. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 12:17, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Yintan's user page.
Dear Alex, I noticed today that our friend Yintan has requested the deletion of his user page here at the encyclopedia. I just wanted to leave this message to record my sadness at his withdrawal from the community; he has been very helpful to me and I looked up to him as a mentor. As you probably know, Yintan was an outstanding contributor and Wikipedia is now much the poorer for having lost his great spirit, his friendly wit and his skillful insights, not to mention his resolute strength at anti-vandalism. He will be sorely missed. Let's hope he will come back one day.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to include this section on your talk page.
With kind regards; Patrick. ツ Pdebee. (talk) 16:16, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- Not really familiar with him. Saw the request and it is routine. he's allowed to request a deletion (CSD U1). As for his reasons I do not know. As you said, it is never good when a good editor leaves. -- Alexf(talk) 17:46, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
you blocked one guy but he is editing with a different account
You just blocked Special:Contributions/82.47.201.61 but he is back again, using his twice blocked [1] single purpose account of Technotopia. This and other IP addresses, are all the same guy, and different ones have been blocked at different times, for starting the same argument time and again on the Sega Genesis talk page, and harassing various users on their user or talk pages. Anyway, the same editor can't edit under one account while just having been blocked from using another. Also, can you make it so that no IP addresses can edit that talk page at all ever? This has been going on for months now, same guy claiming an America/yank bias, and talking in the same way, no doubt its him. Dream Focus 23:20, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

You just left this user a template, which I think is on the whole fair, but that includes "Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website". policy links to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:ORGNAME#Promotional_names which I think is wrong - the name isn't promotional. List of hospitals in India
Normally I'd agree with you that we should remove all of the redlinks from List of hospitals in India. The reason I reverted, though, was that a while back, myself and the very small number of other longterm editors who were watching that page came to a consensus that we would keep the whole list. The primary reason is that if I looked through similar pages for other countries, and couldn't find a single one without redlinks. Thus, it seemed to me to be a case of WP:SYSTEMICBIAS to only cleanup the Indian one. The other problem is that only way we'll be able to enforce the "only bluelinks" rule is permanent semi-protection. Now, maybe it's time to revisit that earlier fragile consensus, and also consider permanent protection; I'm certainly open to such a discussion. Qwyrxian (talk) 16:07, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- Strongly disagree. The consensus is ridiculous if you ask me. There is not systemic bias if all such lists are fixed (slowly but surely). Ok. I will stay away from that list as I can't bear to look at it. It's ugly and it degrades the quality of the encyclopedia, and yes this is POV (mine). Thanks for the comment. -- Alexf(talk) 16:11, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
Your block of 151.229.138.91 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)
Hello. FYI Connorleicester (talk · contribs) is a loudly quacking direct continuation of the IP, continuing the IP's vandalism on Siddal Moor Sports College, adding "leicester" and "Connor Leicester" in various places (diffs: named user 1, named user 2, IP 1, IP 2). The named user was created after the IP got a final warning, as an obvious attempt to avoid being blocked. Thomas.W talk to me 17:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

NPALive account
Good afternoon--
I am belatedly writing to follow-up on the decision to block the NPALive account. I created this account as a member of National Physicians Alliance (NPA) in order to clear up some of the information on the NPA entry for Wikipedia. I used this NPALive account to add additional links to relevant references and external links.
I have also used my personal Wikipedia account (RichmondDoc) to update information (such as organizational leadership) and to link to relevant portions of NPA's website to make the entry more useful.
When I did both of these things, it was not my intent to undermine the reliability or impartiality of Wikipedia. In some cases (such as with the updated leadership information), the goal was to keep the articles current. In linking to NPA's website, my intent was to increase the information available in the entry. As NPALive, my goal was to link to other relevant organizations.
I intended to use the NPALive account as an organizational account that could be used in the future to update factual information and that would live in if/when I leave my current position. This account and login would belong to NPA (not to me as an individual) in order to keep information up to date.
Please let me know what steps would be needed to unblock the NPALive account, and if/how it can be used for the purposes above. Also, as my time allows, I could add additional links to outside resources (newspaper articles, op/eds, etc.) that provide more objective evidence of the organization's work.
thanks

- The notice left on the account clearly explains the issue and how to have it resolved (unblock/request account renaming). The account name cannot be permitted as it is in clear violation of the username rules, which I assume you have read as it is indicated in the notice left for the user account. Just to make it clear, from the rules: "Because Wikipedia's policy is that usernames should not be shared between more than one individual, usernames that imply the likelihood of shared use are not permitted. This means that Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups are not permitted". You are free to use your own account and make edits there (as long as you declare your conflict of interest and maintain neutrality. -- Alexf(talk) 18:05, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Roger Gonzalez
Hi there ! I noticed you deleted an article about Roger Gonzalez in the past. He keeps posting auto promotional content all over wikipedia. Those articled were removed from the Spanish and English versions because he is not a notable person and those articles had no encyclopedic relevance. Despite that he started creating more articles in new languages like: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Gonz%C3%A1lez or http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Gonz%C3%A1lez
He also modified his age, he was born in 1981 and states he was born in 1986 :/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.38.225.26 (talk) 20:10, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Miki Yui, incorrectly deleted for notability
Miki Yui was apparently deleted by you. Your reason was that notability was not shown. Miki Yui is indeed notable in the world of experimental electronic music. She is mentioned in musicologist Joanna Demers' book 'Listening Through the Noise'[1]' as a primary example in the chapter on 'microsound' music. She has released music on the well respected electronic music label 'Line' [12k]. You deleted the page in 2010, so I don't know if that can be reinstated or if I can recreate the page or what. Total noob to this as you can probably see. Any help would be appreciated, thanks for your time in any case. Iamtristanm (talk) 20:12, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- The page was basically a one sentence without any citations or references whatsoever. If you want, you can create a new article and as long as it follows the Golden Rule it should be ok. If in doubt, you can always do it through Article for Creation or ask for help at the Tea House. Cheers. -- Alexf(talk) 20:22, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I'll look into it when I get some time. It's just something I noticed because I was looking for information on Yui and was surprised to find nothing here. Admittedly, experimental and avant garde music is a bit of a niche area, but notable within that area should be notable enough for inclusion imho. Thanks again. If you want to help keeping an eye on it every so often, then block (and clean category) of any violator for over a week, or remove the cat if not a username vio too. - Is this right? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:33, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, you did right. What I meant was, they are warned. Give them a few days (a weeks is generally customary unless the username vio is blatant - or very spammy). After a few days with no response, I block. When I check CAT:UAA and see one warned 2 or 3 days ago I skip and give them more time. -- Alexf(talk) 01:51, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

- Thanks for the link. I read it all and it took ages. Very, very interesting. I'm way too chicken and new to post there, so I'm watching. I sure am worried about notices and links at signup because, for good newcomers it conflicts with the openness of Wikipedia and for bad promoters, they will simply be the same people, but will just choose less promotional names. We won't be able to identify them so easily.
- It seems so far like letting them register possibly promo names and handling the flow is good. I like your idea of just keeping the category clean. It's not like the thousands of items at AfC. We're talking about 200 and very few admins working on the backlog. It seems manageable. Maybe for week-olds that haven't made any edits, some sort of system where we tag and if no edits for a week, a bot does something. Couldn't we have a one-click automated way of doing things? Some sort of Twinkly thing?
- Anyway, I like what you had to say. In fact, everyone makes a lot of sense. It's a smart discussion. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:16, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
- You should still post your opinions there. As per automation. I don't think so. The issue is that we still have to make a determination if to block or not. Many are blockable. Many are borderline. Some are mistakes on the part of the tagger. They all have to be looked at individually. The backlog is not bad and I try to keep it under 200 and manageable else it gets out of control and becomes a mess like AfC. You should have seen what it was long ago when I first found it. Help is always appreciated as I do not think many admins work that page (if any). I did not mention it but love your handle. Very creative. -- Alexf(talk) 11:22, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
- I still think I'll just watch and learn. There's nothing I'd say that isn't already being considered.
- No automation, understood. That makes sense. However, don't you check on some, say to yourself, okay, if this account doesn't edit within a week, I'll come back and block? If so, wouldn't some sort of automation be possible? And how do you handle those items cluttering the category? Do you just try to remember which you've already checked and come back to see if they've edited? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:27, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- I use the link coloring when you visited a link and I remember having visited some of them. I check their posting. Even when I don't remember having visited them, I can always re-check and if they are over a week or so there I look at contributions and then block, or release them from there as non-vios. If I open and see their warning was too recent or they have requested a change of username, then I wait. -- Alexf(talk) 01:05, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- I see. So, there are lots of cases where you will definitely block if no edits are made within a week, right? So, why not have some system to tag/categorize those for a bot to auto block with a standard message if no edits are made within a week? Wouldn't that take care of a big chunk of them without having to go back in and take action manually? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:08, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- No. I don't look for edits (unless they are incriminating - e.g. promotional for the group they are named after). I look for an answer to the notice posted to them. Either ask or respond t it in the user talk page or go to CHU. As for automation. I do not know. You would have to ask that elsewhere.-- Alexf(talk) 02:16, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- But if they don't reply and just don't edit for a week? What do you do then? And how common is that? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:06, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- It's very common (actually it is the norm) as you can see in CAT:UAA. Many are left for a while longer. If they don't edit it is not really a problem except when it clogs the category page and makes it go over 200. Many are blocked because they are a violation. Some are not or are borderline,so they are let go as-is by removing the hidden text with the summary "not a username vio" and effectively removed from the category. -- Alexf(talk) 12:54, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- Noted. I'm actually trying to resolve some of the borderline ones, if that's okay. Please check my log from time to time and let me know if I'm making bad calls. Many thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:12, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Nintemulator speedy deletion for spam/advertising
I was just wondering if you could tell me exactly how my page Nintemulator was in question about being spam. I'm new to the Wikipedia scene. I just found that emulator that was abandoned back in January and there wasn't a page written for it, so i figured it couldn't be too hard that i would give it a try. I did however repost it in my work in progress area until i can figure out what i need to change or reword to make it more informational than advertisement. Hello Alex,
Two months ago you blocked my username LTAA1987 because the name seemed to imply that the user was editing on behalf of something other than himself. So you suggested to create a new account and resubmit the article again which I did. But by resubmitting the article, my reviewer recognized that there is a similar article from user LTAA1987 in submission process as well. So he declined the article for creation to avoid overlaps. Based on the fact of the blocked user LTAA1987 there won't be any progress on that article Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey in future, so that it has to be taken out of the AfC submission cycle. I would really appreciate it if you could help me in that context. Thanks a lot in advance! CaptainBalu|(talk) 10:17, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- The best way in that case was probably to have the account renamed. Creating a new account makes them independent of each other. I looked at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey GmbH and it was rejected because it lacked independent verifiable sources. The newer article was not accepted because we already have an article for Lufthansa Technik. As they are the same company (are they not?) you could add as a subsection on that one. Also, please understand you seem to have a Conflict of interest if you work for LT. In that case you should disclose it up front, in your user page and in the article's Talk page when/if you modify it. -- Alexf(talk) 12:41, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi Alex. Just a note to let you know that I've unblocked this user to allow a change of username. Cheers, Yunshui 雲水 13:53, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Block of 70.33.147.66
Hi Alex, did you mean to disable email for 70.33.147.66 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 16:12, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- My PC is acting up. For some reason today it is staying at 100% processor for long periods, so response is jerky. Pressed the checkmark and it went to submit without giving me a chance to correct. Easy to fix if needed, but for a habitual vandal... -- Alexf(talk) 16:15, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- Doesn't matter since IPs can't use the email function anyway. Was just interested why is all, but that explains it. :) Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 16:18, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Tiwari may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
- an International Road Safety and Transport Systems Specialist/Advisor. He had proposed Africa Asia (Djibouti-Yemen( sea Link). He had been Consultant on 12 World Bank and Asian Dev. Bank Projects too.
Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 08:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Misdirected energy
Users such as yourself blocking contributions by non autoconfirmed users and effectively calling them spammers without looking into or understanding the contents of an article's topic is lowering the overall quality of Wikipedia. I suggest you find yourself another displacement activity.
If the article cannot be edited, then maybe it would best be deleted altogether? I'm sure you would happily offer to do that :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.163.89.24 (talk) 09:25, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

- Not so. If you have been in Wikipedia for a little while you understand anyone can edit, therefore there is a need for rules. One very important one is the need to establish notability. There is a very prominent notice at the top of the list page indicating that in order to be in a list (we cannot have indiscriminate lists of everything), the subject in question must have an article written in Wikipedia. It is therefore rather simple, no article, no listing. You have insisted on adding this company, without establishing notability twice, even after reading the notice at least twice, and after being informed what the issue was. You still insist in breaking the rules. I might also add that your tone is confrontational to say the least. In your edit subject when you reverted and in here. You have to work on that if you want to be a member of the community. If you want the company listed so desperately, and they are notable, by all means, write an article. As long as it follows the Golden Rule there should be no problems. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 11:02, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Bit too much time on your hands there?
Hehe, just ended up on Wackypedia and got a message about a message on my "User" page. It appears that you have tagged the page corresponding to the IP address I'm writing this under with a "sock puppet" tag (whatever that is) and gone all aggro on someone on the internet.
The only editing I personally do on Wackypedia is to correct the odd spelling mistake or typo, and that's just for my own reading benefit, otherwise I could not care less about the thing. I just found it a bit amusing to have come across someone else's handbagging. :o)
Oh, and by the way, you may want to contact whoever wrote that banner. Regarding the bit that says: "In the event of persistent vandalism from this address, efforts may be made to contact <whichever provider> to report abuse." That could be quite fun for you to try, I'm sure the lads at this or any other ISP would be delighted to hear from some random geek asking they piss off one of their customers.
Really chaps, you need to get a life out there! Good luck with any non-masturbational endeavours of yours though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:1028:83A0:291E:762F:68FF:FE2D:429E (talk) 15:04, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Hello. Why did you delete this page as vandalism, and then salt it? --Rschen7754 19:01, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Mistake. I was patrolling three pages at the time (vandalism) and got confused with another. I looked back tat the page and it should not have been processed this way. Restored. thanks for the heads up. -- Alexf(talk) 19:11, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Akron Children's Hospital
Please note that I have unblocked Akron Children's Hospital to allow for a name change. The name proposed seems acceptable, and they answered the follow up question. Kuru (talk) 15:17, 24 December 2013 (UTC)

RE: December
The article was not an autobiography, but a factual short note about an artist who is my brother. Anyway I gave up to save it as soon the system warned me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maiaepadua (talk • contribs) 16:28, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
- Don't know which article you refer to as you have not included a redlink to it and processing hundreds of articles and pages a day you will have to excuse me if I don't remember them all. If you say it was not you but your brother, then you should read about conflicts of interest. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 16:42, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
Can you undelete the above page. After reading your page I had spent several minutes composing a highly witty and entertainly Haiku to make my points, howvere as it seems you detest the form I trust the below will suffice:
The page was deleted due to lack of natability however:
Several of the lable's artists are considered notable ( eg [Withered Hand], [Big Adventure], ballboy)
The label featured on John Peel's BBC Radio Show, a whole show dedicated to the label and numerous releases in his Festive Fifty end of year charts. Another BBC Radio 1 DJ, Rob Da Bank, noted it as his label of the year in 2005.
Numerous articules in the Scottish Press ([List] and again, The Scotsman and again [subscription], The Skinny and [[4]]) - just a quick google search
It is currently less/non-active but ten (?) years ago it was a notable Scottish lable.
Thanks for reading.

- Sorry but it would help if you added a redlink as requested. I looked at the last 2000 deletions and did not find a page by that name. -- Alexf(talk) 12:48, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
done, sorry thought I had. Broonsparrow (talk) 14:52, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- No wonder I had not found it in the last three or four pages of recent deletions. It was deleted on 27 June 2010!
- Sorry but that article was properly deleted as it contained no independent verifiable sources to assert notability. I could userfy it for you but it is not worth much as it was just a stub after copyright violations were removed. You may start a new one if you want. It may be better that way. -- Alexf(talk) 14:57, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
ok wasn't sure what was on the page before - i just knew it existed! Happy to either work on what there was, if you userfy it, or just start a new page - Can I start a new page for a page that has been deleted? Broonsparrow (talk) 16:13, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- Yes you can. Just make sure it follows the Golden Rule. -- Alexf(talk) 16:23, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
will do, thanks for your time Broonsparrow (talk) 20:31, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

NeechalBOT block reason
Hello Alexf, Thanks for reviewing user:NeechalBOT activities and applying block on it. However can you please provide me the reason for this Block? I don't find the reason for this block on this user talk message. Currently I am busy with script research and activities on other Wikipedia, so I don't have time to trigger NeechalBOT in English, which doesn't mean any violation. As per BOT policy I have run my test drive only on my user space. Please advise me --Neechalkaran (talk) 15:18, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Neechalkaran. the issue is we cannot have bot names for unapproved bots. An admin left you a message there about the issue. We waited over two months (the message was posted on 13 October 2013) and nothing happened. That is way past the normal waiting period > When and if the bot gets approved, please go to the talk page and request an unblock using the instructions provided there. An admin on call will review it and do it for you. -- Alexf(talk) 15:33, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- Alexf, Thanks for the information. An admin had posted the message on Oct 13, when BOT user page was not created. so I created the user page. This BOT was approved in Hindi and Tamil and is performing many automated tasks, so I can't delete this BOT account. Blocking seems like a black mark on this BOT performance, so can you please advise me the solution to unblock it? or will wikipedia approve this BOT even though similar actionable BOTs are here? --Neechalkaran (talk) 20:17, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- I am not saying to rename or remove the account. What I am saying is the block is temporary until you get the account approved. Go to WP:BRFA and follow the steps. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 02:05, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
