Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Uscclogo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Uscclogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

And he's making the same edits as you blocked him for yesterday. He hasn't passed 3RR, but is this blockable, simply as disruption? Especially given the vandalistic nature of many of the previous edits. S. Dean Jameson 00:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Why
Hi, You chose to block me on a complaint from "dance with the devil" for making more than 3 reverts. Since I am new to the forum and really don't understand how these things work can you explain me something. You looked into the diff provided by "dance with Devil" and chose to act. Why did you not investigate and block "Dance with Devil". He made more than 10 reverts and refused to debate the issus.Sindhian (talk) 12:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I am still curious to know your answer Sindhian (talk) 10:28, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. I also understand that admins don't have time to get into details of each case and act at the merit of reporting. From the perspective of a new user I feel a lot of new users can be tricked into breaking 3RR rule. My suggestion is that before acting on the complaint it should be verified if the complaintant did try to explain and work according to rules himself. Otherwise there is always a chance that people are going to misuse the rules Sindhian (talk) 14:36, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explination. from my side I can assure you that I will not to get into 3RR voilations again. Sindhian (talk) 15:00, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I see you've recently decided to upload Image:North Alt US 19 @ FL 582.jpg and Image:US-Alt-19-FL-651-686(Overhead).jpg into the commons. I wasn't expecting this, but I don't mind. There are several other images I've been trying to get shipped off to the commons to no avail, however. Well, to tell you the truth, I'm rather unfamiliar with the area and I've never been on the road (I've only heard about it once before). List
Yeah, I saw it. In fact, I just added an infobox. It looks good, except we have to make it more general than "List of numbered highways in Utah", as that can cover state routes as well, right? Also, we have to make modifications to the road infobox for Utah. There's only one link and that directs to List of Utah state highways. Now we have to have two links: one for Interstates and U.S. Routes, and one for state routes. CL — 01:14, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I know, the title just makes it sound like there could be state routes on there too. Maybe a dablink like this:
- This list covers Interstate and U.S. highways in Utah. For state routes in Utah, see List of state highways in Utah.
- Or something like that. CL — 01:17, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll go ahead and add it then if you don't mind. Oh, and shouldn't it be named List of numbered highways in Utah instead of List of Utah numbered highways? I'm asking because that's how MD does it. CL — 01:20, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Alright, will do. I forgot to say good job with the list :) CL — 01:22, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

FYI, road beginnings verses ends
Admrboltz, Just an FYI, the convention of the US Department of Transportation (that as far as I know has been universally adopted throughout the USA) is that for roads the South/West terminus is the beginning and the North/East terminus is the end. On a couple of routes in the Utah highway list pages are entered backwards. This presents a unique situation for US-491 and a few others, as because the state's don't agree on the direction of the highway. Taken literally from the DOT signage, US-491 has two beginnings and no end, or I guess the end would be at the Colorado/Utah state line. Dave (talk) 01:42, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Apologies for the next template edit conflicts
I just wanted to apologize if I ended up edit-conflicting with you on the DYK/N template. I had a few extra screens up because I was double checking if the Lloyd Green hook was okay since it was expiring and a new cited hook had been suggested, and so I didn't see the "Update happening now" until after a few "someone has recently edited this page" things. So, apologies if my edit ended up conflicting with any of yours, and thank you for doing the update. Vickser (talk) 04:11, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:710kiro logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:710kiro logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Re: Adams Av Pkwy
As the article stands now, it's still at start. To be C-class, it basically needs to have the "big four": A lead, an RD, a history, and a major intersections table, just like B-class, except incomplete. The AAP would need a history section to be at C-class. CL — 05:09, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose that would work, but the lead is good already. If you could find more on the history and then add it that would be good. But I guess stuff from the lead can be extracted. CL — 05:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, good luck in any case. The AAP doesn't seem very well-known everywhere and doesn't have much of an interesting history :) CL — 05:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Right now, it would meet C-class (I'll reassess it now). It has the "big four" so it meets the requirements. Good luck with future expansion, and never say never :) CL — 18:33, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Please remove rollback from User:Montgomery '39
You granted rollback to User:Montgomery '39 who seems to have a very shallow understanding of WP policies and guidelines. Please see the numerous discussion on their talk page. I wonder if you know how to renew an image, like edit an Wikipedia image a little bit to make it look better and relace that image with the old one (The old one would be shown on the image page). Do you just upload the file under the same name, or is there a more complex procedure.

- Alright, I'll go ahead and put it back. I just prefer it this way as it's definitely more visible than being at the bottom of the page, where IMO less people will see it. By the way, 'grats on yet another DYK, you're really making our UTSH pages visible :) CL — 00:09, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Just for future reference, you didn't actually update the DYK earlier. The T:DYK is the main template that transcludes onto the Main Page. The T:DYK/N page is the draft page, so the main template is updated from the draft template. You did it the other way around, and put the current template that needed updating onto the draft page, but left the Main Page copy intact. :) I've fixed it. Also, the DYK image should be uploaded locally if it's on the Commons; although protecting it here will prevent uploading (also enabled through cascading protection), vandalism can still occur on the Commons image which will transclude. Hope this helps. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 23:24, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's fine, trust me, I mucked it up on my first attempt and transcluded the DYK navbox! It gets a lot easier with experience. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 23:30, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

- No, I don't have one. After finding out about the TUSC account, I decided to just check the FileUpdateBox, thinking I could go without it, which didn't work. Utah street numbering
I have a suggestion for an article. I don't know enough to get the numbering/grid system in place in Utah that results in streets with the name 2100 South, etc. We have an article on Detroit's Mile Roads (including 8 Mile) so why not one on this? Just an idea for a future article. Imzadi1979 (talk) 23:54, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Regarding SR-151
Here's what I did for the SR-151 article:
- The route isn't called the South Jordan Parkway the entire length, so it doesn't belong in the infobox; and all the signs on the traffic lights refer to the road as 10400 South (with a few signs added on that say So Jo Parkway) so it appears that the Parkway designation is purely ceremonial
- As far as I know, we don't have to include all the intersections on a route except in situations such as Bangerter, where there are only limited intersections
- The only time something's an interchange is when it's an interstate exit, as far as I know. The average four-way run-of-the-mill intersection isn't considered an interchange
- How dare you not use the dash? :P We have to use the dash in between the SR and the number rather religiously as we are one of the one states who do this
Hope this helps somewhat - CL — 09:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean with the exit list I changed the "jcttop" and added wikitable formatting? The only reason I did that is because this way we can keep the jctint template for the rest of the table but take off the county parameter without any problems (the entire route is in SL County). And I've never seen anyone include the intersections even if they are federal aid, this has just been consensus for all these years I suppose - CL — 20:17, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- That would definitely help, the number of lanes and all that, but I guess what UDOT provided is good enough too (makes you wonder why UTSH was in disrepair for all that time) - CL — 20:22, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Not just back on track, we are number 1 (for the time being at least)! Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Assessment/States - CL — 20:28, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

- I've always been under the impression that the route is called "South Jordan Parkway" along its entire length - all the way from Bangerter to I-15. I'll have to check out the signage next time I'm out that way, but I know that there are business listings referring to it as the "South Jordan Parkway" as far east as the 400 West block, just below the freeway. Unless you were talking about the far west end? DeFaultRyan (talk) 23:27, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
K, for SR-103 (this is all stuff I've learned over time from other users doing this):
- The general consensus is we don't put refs in the infobox for the alt name and route formation (but we do for length for some reason)
- We don't split up freeway interchanges, it's kept like a normal intersection
- As for "North Main Street," I don't think it's actually called that, rather Google Maps puts it that way so an address like "610 North Main Street Clearfield, Utah" will work. I'm guessing people just refer to it as Main Street. CL — 23:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't want to undermine your work or anything; please don't feel this way, I'm just helping. Anyway, cutting to the cheese, I've never seen us put endashes as opposed to normal dashes. I reverted it, we just have never done this before and it isn't part of USRD standards. CL — 21:09, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, but all the - does is connect SR to number, or I to number. Some states don't even use any dash. This doesn't, as per MOSDASH, convey the sense of to or through, it doesn't serve as a substitute for some uses of and, to or versus for marking a relationship involving independent elements in certain compound expressions, and it doesn't separate distinct information within points. In this case, all it does it connect "SR" or "I" to "15" or "103" or what have you. I didn't find anything in MOSDASH concerning that, but then again all I did was brush through it - CL — 21:20, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi
Hi Admrboltz, I'm very new to editing ( hopefully more photography than writing on entries need them rather than writing :)), thanks for the plate of cookies and I hope I did this in the right place. Still a little intimidated by all this :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grey3k (talk • contribs) 17:18, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

You literally messaged me as I'm doing it. LOL! -- Kéiryn (talk) 14:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- I looked over it when you first pinged me – sorry for not responding then – but haven't taken any action on it since I've been busy with other tasks (and real life). Looking over it again now, the prose does look excellent. -- Kéiryn (talk) 14:34, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Interstate 82 GAN
I fixed all the suggestions and found an image. Do you think the image I found ([1]) can be used on Wikipedia? It seems like it, but it says "SOME RIGHTS RESERVED" on the page. Can you check it out? ~~ ĈĠ890100Review me! 19:52, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Need a little guidance from a experinced editor...
Hiya Admrboltz
I've seem to have adpoted 4 pages, 3 about steam locomotives and 1 about a proposed museum. Information was kind of scarce so I contacted the CTRC ( the group mainly responsible and owner of the locomotives. The president sent me a email giving us
permission to re-use text from the site but not the pictures. He also gave me a bit of information and updates on various things.
All of this was contained in a email. How can i reference this for my articles?
Thanks

Well, User:Imzadi1979, was your second opinion and I convinced him, through article improvement, to support the article to become a GA. So, have you made your final decision? ~~ ĈĠ (☺ - Review!) Simple? 00:31, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Boston Red Sox starting pitchers
Er, when you look at Baseball Reference's list of Boston Red Sox Opening Day starters, it doesn't show the starters from 1955 and below... -- RyRy (talk) 19:54, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Done. It can be found at List of New York Mets Opening Day starting pitchers. If you can, could you help me fill in the xxxx's? Also, if you could upload an image of Tom Seaver and Tom Glavine (or any other image that you think will be good for the list), that would be great (as I'm horrible with uploading images)! I'm currently working on actually filling in the table. Any suggestions and help would greatly be appreciated. :) Thanks! -- RyRy (talk) 00:02, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, congratulations on the triple crown! You deserve it. I'm still working to get a triple crown of my own. Obviously, I've got the DYK portion of it down, along with a possible FL of list of New York Mets Opening Day starting pitchers and a possible GA of baseball uniform. Speaking of the possible FL, do you think you can find an image of Tom Seaver somewhere that I can use in the list? He has the most starts in Opening Day games with the New York Mets, not to mention most of them were in a row, so it would be great for an image of him in the article. Could you find one (even if you have to upload one)? Also, if you could get a better image of Tom Glavine, rather than the current one in the article, that would be splendid! I'm horrible with images... trust me. -- RyRy (talk) 09:30, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Spammy DYK update/housekeeping-type notice
HI (sorry 'bout the spammy note), DYK updates have been a bit slow and there's a bit of a shortage of admins actively involved. We are asking folks who listed themselves on Wikipedia:Did you know/Admins to update details on this page - User:Olaf Davis/DYKadmins, so we can grade everyone's involvement (and who, knows, someone may want to get involved more :) ). Triple Crown Jewels
Thank you for contributions to the project, Great work, especially on List of Seattle Mariners Opening Day starting pitchers - quite meticulously well-cited, and great use of free-use images from Wikimedia Commons. May you wear the crowns well. Cirt (talk) 08:34, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
