D.C. Statehood
Hi sorry if i made an error and missed it, but why did you flag my edit as "unreliable source-better source needed"?OgamD218 (talk) 13:15, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
- This was because I found no indication that "Bill" of the Bill's List web site has any editorial oversight or expertise, as opposed to news organizations where this is generally the case. Bill's List appears to be a self-published source. I think the statehood article would be better without using Bill's List as one of its sources is all. I did not mean to make you feel bad as an editor. —ADavidB 16:14, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
- Not at all, I'm still getting used to how do this and was just wondering, I'll remove the Bill's List reference — Preceding unsigned comment added by OgamD218 (talk • contribs) 09:10, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Speculation
Hi there. Just wanted to ask you why you considered this to be speculation, as Gov. Hogan cannot run for another term.
PS: It may be time to archive your talk page.
Sdrqaz (talk) 18:17, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- It was a reference to a prior edit summary that seemed to claim mention of Hogan was 'speculation'. There is simply no need to mention an outgoing non-candidate governor in the election's short description; it's more detail than is needed. —ADavidB 18:35, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not too sure I follow. The previous edit that removed reference to Gov. Hogan said
Not true. Hogan might not be governor anymore then. the election is for governor. Hogan happens to be the governor now
and the subsequent edit called that reasoningUnnecessarily speculative; see WP:CRYSTAL. It is assumed that Hogan will be governor at that point
and re-added the reference to Gov. Hogan. Does that mean you agree with the first or second summary? Sdrqaz (talk) 18:54, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not too sure I follow. The previous edit that removed reference to Gov. Hogan said
- I meant it in sarcasm. I'm sorry it was taken literally or otherwise misinterpreted. As mentioned in my prior response, I don't believe mention of Hogan has any place in a short description. —ADavidB 19:01, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, understood. That's fair reasoning. My sarcasm detector must not be working! Sdrqaz (talk) 19:22, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the Peter Marshall clean up
Thanks for the clean up on my Peter Marshall update. In retrospect, what I put in was a mess, but it least it was a catalyst for a proper update. --PoughkeepsieNative (talk) 01:01, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

August 2021
Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Mike Lindell, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 14:58, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- I added "according to one journalist" to the article. The only source at that time, which another editor provided, clearly attributes the statement of their being no evidence to a single reporter (emphasis mine):
- "...journalist Jared Holt reported. The event featured Mr Lindell and other speakers breathlessly repeating the same claims that have been made since January, and providing the same amount of evidence - none - to back up their claims, he said."

Issue on The Ready Room page that I am requesting help with
Hi, I ran into an issue while editing The Ready Room page and saw that your name came up a lot in the edit history, so I assumed you were an experienced editor and someone with prior knowledge to this show. I added the first section to the Ready Room talk page to ask for help, but people rarely check those. So I thought I'd ask you personally here. The problem is: The Ready Room has aired its first crossover episode and I'm not sure where to put it and how to not mess up the overall episode counter in the process. Should the crossover episode be listed under Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 or Star Trek: Discovery Season 4? I think we should add the episode under both and then set the overall episode counter to count both as episode #44. But I don't know how to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to the talk page where I describe the issue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:The_Ready_Room Daxri (talk) 08:45, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Article rating
Hi, thanks for rating Kenelm Somerville, 17th Lord Somerville as C-Class. Could you elaborate on what it's missing so that I might improve it? Thanks again, Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 23:26, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- I have concerns about the unsourced details of Somerville's family members. I didn't find the info in the Byrne source. Is all of it on pages 42–44 of the Paul source? One of the lifespans extends beyond the source date. If not already familiar with B criteria, this FAQ may also help. (I'm no expert at article rating, but using the Rater tool to help reduce a backlog of articles needing assessment.) —ADavidB 18:35, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for elaborating. Everything apart from the one date of death that you noted is recorded in the Paul source. I've located some new sources with which I've added one more date and provided a citation for the existing uncited date, which leaves only one date of death unaccounted for. I think it most likely that that one is lost to history, sadly. Many thanks for pointing this out, and hopefully the article is now improved. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 19:41, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

I left this on my user talk p. but couldn’t ping you.
Well, Happy New Year to you too! My grammarian mentor and wife, and I, her loyal pupil, are devastated by this news! I am sure she will not sleep for weeks, which means nor will I! Shall I say, her word, concerning the WP rule, is "obtuse?" I will be glad to comply going forward, though I refuse to make any retroactive changes. Seriously, thanks for advising me. I regret I was unaware of this! Hoppyh (talk) 18:08, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
- Making aware was my goal. I do know it grates against many. As for pinging, it may be because my user name has a lower "d", though I sign with an upper "D". —ADavidB 20:04, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
George Washington Christian.
You need to read his granddaughters letters concerning this issue...the one who lived with him for many years. I watched Christian Pinto's Founding Fathers movie/documentary and got the idea he refused communion because he was a deist. Is it possible that he refused because he had trouble forgiving himself for things that may have happened in war. His granddaughter asserts that he was a Christian and I don't think it was just because she wanted him shown in a good light. He took communion before the war. 73.184.124.183 (talk) 02:06, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Paid Obituaries fail WP:RS
Your addition to bill workman was exactly that from legacy.com. The consensus is paid obituaries are not reliable. Key word paid- A newspaper article on the death of someone is a RS....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 19:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- The source is already replaced with another one. —ADavidB 19:15, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Fine. Paid obituaries can be used to a very limited extent. Like where somebody is from, and in some cases what their full name was. As long as it isn't controversial. Their accomplishments, awards they received, if they served in the military, college degrees, no. Just for black humor sake, read this[1] if you want....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 19:25, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- @WilliamJE: Indeed, you can put any darn thing into a paid obituary. I remember being astounded by an obituary claim that Mrs. X was a chess grandmaster. I later learned that was a joke made lovingly by her sons. HouseOfChange (talk) 15:21, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

churches of Christ rework
You noted that the edit on the Campbellite name was “likely a typo”. However, I actually copied it (copy/paste) from the repository where I found the document.
Don’t think it makes a difference though. Cheers! 2604:2D80:4B03:D300:8444:C22B:4FC6:B107 (talk) 02:25, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hm. That makes me think the source may have gathered text from an OCR process, in which letters can be mis-read from an original printed copy. —ADavidB 05:34, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
