Matt Bevin Child Rapist Pardonings
Is there a reason you are trying to bury this information? It is literally the most famous thing about Matt Bevin currently, absolutely should be shown prominently on his page. Colinmcdermott (talk) 13:46, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- It's not burial; it's following Wikipedia's policies. The purpose of the top section (lead) of the article is to summarize the entire article, not emphasize the most recent news on the subject. As editors, we need to strive for neutrality. —ADavidB 13:58, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
Hyphens
I had to revert a few of your changes of hyphens to en dashes in Washington Monument because some of the hyphens between numbers do not indicate a range. Instead, each and every page in the cited source (Historic Structure Report) has a hyphen in it (except for the front matter) at the bottom right of each page. For example, page 3-6 means page 6 of chapter 3. This page numbering system is common in engineering publications. Thus these hyphens are intentional, which is why "hyphen" is spelled out. Please read the template {{hyphen}}. Do not change any hyphen that is spelled out, and be cognizant of this exception even if it isn't spelled out. — Joe Kress (talk) 17:19, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time to explain. —ADavidB 18:29, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
WikiProject A Cappella
Hi! I noticed you indicated interest in the a cappella wikiproject on the proposal, I just wanted to tell you it's been created, you can find it here. Thanks! Puddleglum 2.0 01:53, 8 January 2020 (UTC) Puddleglum 2.0 01:55, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Maryland General Assembly
I believe my cite was properly formed. The Kindle e-reader does not have page numbers (which vary depending on the size of the letters you prefer). Instead they have "Location numbers." This is permitted, in fact the template has a slot for location numbers. All that being said, I will revert your edit.--''Paul, in Saudi'' (talk) 01:17, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, it wasn't evident to me that you were using Kindle to access the book. The template's "location" parameter is intended for the location (city) in which a book was published. Instead of "page", the "at" parameter seems appropriate, so I'm applying that. Kindle books also have an ASIN, so that's going in the citation too. Finally, the DMY date had a comma in it, which I'm removing. —ADavidB 03:34, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. What is quite unsatisfying here is that we do not know when the assembly did reapportion itself. --''Paul, in Saudi'' (talk) 01:46, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I felt the same thing. I hope the subsequent history is identified and added later by an editor. —ADavidB 02:03, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Ciena
Hello! You were kind enough to assist me with updating the David Trone article on his behalf during 2017–2018, so I was wondering if you might be willing to help with another small project, this time about a Maryland-based telecommunications company. I've been working with Ciena to identify some updates and other improvements to the current article. I'm seeking editor review via talk page requests, and I've disclosed my COI on my profile, the article's talk page, and my draft page.
In short, the current page is in poor shape; there's inaccurate content, inappropriately sourced text, and organizational issues. I've outlined some concerns specific to the History section here, and I've proposed replacing the current text with an overview of the company's early history I've saved here. I've also suggested merging of the stray "Recent Events" section (where "Recent" links to Holocene). Since you were so helpful with the Trone requests, and as a member of WikiProject Maryland, could you possibly take a look and update the article on my behalf? Thanks for your consideration. District map captions
Saw your undo and self-revert. No worries, I usually refer to MOS:CAPFRAG here. The bot that added these did a huge amount of work in building these articles, but with the same three errors in the map captions, hyphen intended as (unnecessary) dash, period though the caption is a fragment, and incorrect bold. If I had the time I’d go through all the U.S. districts but I just try to knock them out when I see them. Ponydepression (talk) 23:28, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Palmyra Atoll picture of huge Pisonia grandis
ADavidB: You may know the proper way to put a no-longer-in-copyright picture into a Wikipedia article (I don't). The 1916 Joseph F. Rock monograph about Palmyra Atoll http://hdl.handle.net/10524/23293 has a splendid picture of a huge (the largest) Pisonia grandis tree on Palmyra, as Plate XIX on page 49. Surely it's long out of copyright by now. If so, I suggest that you add it to illustrate the Palmyra Atoll article if you know how. (The man shown standing on the tree root to show scale is Judge Henry E. Cooper of the 1913 Rock/Cooke scientific expedition --- who, incidentally, had deposed Queen Liliuokalani of Hawaii in 1893.)---2605:6000:101C:8964:283D:64AC:128:8C1D (talk) 17:18, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
- I have imported such old images before, and will look into doing so again for this one you describe. Thanks. —ADavidB 18:13, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
- The photo is now at File:Tallest Pisonia grandis on Palmyra with H E Cooper.jpg and I've added it to the Palmyra Atoll article. —ADavidB 23:58, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.
It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you.
- I almost always do use the preview button. If you would point out specifically what I may have missed during a preview, that would be more helpful. In this case, I tracked down the edit you made in response to one of mine, so I now know. Thanks. —ADavidB 10:35, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Breaking images
Hi, I was just reviewing Category:Articles with missing files and noticed several I checked in a row were your edits that needed fixing - like [1] [2] [3] and [4]. Please watch out for the images. Cheers, Keep safe KylieTastic (talk) 19:29, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am manually reviewing edits via AWB before saving them, but evidently am missing some that should be skipped. I will look more closely. Ultimately, I want to change my search so it will automatically skip file/image names, but don't have that working yet. —ADavidB 19:35, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Palmyra Atoll
If you want to include the flag somewhere on the article with a small blurb, I won't remove it. It still doesn't, however, belong in the infobox. Lexicon (talk) 18:46, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Invite to Revive WikiProject:Shopping Centers!
Hey there, Adavidb! I'm Windyshadow32, a new member of the sadly inactive Wikiproject Shopping Centers. I see that you have recently edited some pages within the scope of our project!. I am trying to revive the project to highlight the unique stories of malls across the country and the world especially as we lose more and more of them. Undoubtedly, we will lose shopping malls due to the challenges we face at this moment. I would like to know if you would like to help revive the project with me! I could really use some help assessing the quality of each article and how important they are! I can't take on this massive project without you. Please let me know if you'd be willing to help; I really appreciate it!

Thanks, you can see I was struggling as I am basically unexperienced at this and only dabbling. Appreciate your amendments, and I hope this is even the proper channel for communicating, never attempted to do so before! Clanhannan (talk) 09:53, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- You're welcome. User talk pages are best for inter-editor communication, and article talk pages are the place to coordinate improvements for a specific article. —ADavidB 12:24, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
Thriii and holding former names
Hey I noticed you recently edited the article Thriii and bolded two of their three former names. I’m relatively new to Wikipedia and I was wondering why you bolder the two former names? Factfanatic1 (talk) 14:25, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your use of the talk page. I was applying the style guideline at MOS:BOLD which identifies bold font as appropriate for names that redirect to the article. —ADavidB 16:20, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Moving categories
If you want to move a category, please use WP:CFD - do NOT simply create the new category and move all the articles within the old category. GiantSnowman 15:28, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Acknowledged. The CFD process has been initiated for Category:Victoria Bucureşti players, though it was partially moved before I noticed your request. —ADavidB 15:54, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Kentucky CDs
About the sentence over rural districts, all four districts are over 50% rural, with only the second district being close, according to their Wikipedia pages. Wikipedia already backs up the information, so a source isn’t needed. Tedm03 (talk) 18:14, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- If the source isn't in the article in question, it should be copied from the article(s) that are sourced. —ADavidB 18:15, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
