Teabaggers
Haha. It was worth a shot. From mine and your point of view, though (you state you're for taxes), you have to admit... Anyway, I really felt the need to put a face (or two) to the mindless "protesting" that has been going on. Take care !! GnarlyLikeWhoa (talk) 00:39, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm confused. I haven't stated support for higher taxes; on the contrary, lowering taxes is something I highly support. I reverted your edit because the file is marked for speedy deletion and the living persons, depicted in the unflattering image, might not appreciate the point you were trying to make. APK whisper in my ear 01:05, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind / lighten up. Also, my apologies on your position on taxes... I simply misread. How exactly is the image unflattering? Let's dissect this. I would imagine that when those individuals woke up that morning and created those signs, they knew exactly what they were writing. They were simply expressing themselves. They should be proud of what they wrote; further, your implications of their personal feelings are absolutely hearsay.
- In any case, I don't see the unflattering look. If anything, their look has helped foster a much greater understanding of who the tea party protestors are and what they stand for. GnarlyLikeWhoa (talk) 01:22, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Also, the reason for speedy deletion stemmed from nothing having to do with the message and substance of the image, but rather a housekeeping issue. By the advice of Wiki, it's back up.GnarlyLikeWhoa (talk) 01:26, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- I've tagged the file as a copy vio; (found here - http://23.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kryi38wriG1qz7nz4o1_400.jpg) Regarding "further, your implications of their personal feelings are absolutely hearsay"; your choice of section heading, combined with comments such as "Haha. It was worth a shot.", and "Anyway, I really felt the need to put a face (or two) to the mindless 'protesting' that has been going on.", lead me to doubt your latest comment. Take care. APK whisper in my ear 01:30, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Deleted. APK whisper in my ear 01:35, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- What are you talking about it? Clearly I meant that although the spelling error is obvious, the message the protestor is trying to send is clear. A "shot" to me meant that I realized the spelling error would overlap the genuine nature of the message the protestor was trying to send. Sorry for it getting this far, but for someone with your clear potential for an open mind, it is surprising that you could not see the sarcasm in the first statement. Next time, hopefully it will be different. I thank you for your time of day. GnarlyLikeWhoa (talk) 01:42, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for your input on the DYK nom for Federal Triangle. I hope you like that article. You're such a historic architecture fanboy. That's an article right up your alley: A massive, thick, marble structure shoved into the wet, steamy triangle in the heart of the city. And then the gigantic Reagan building is thrust into a tight, narrow space. Just proposing the Reagan building's insertion made people scream. And the howls as it actually went in...well... Everyone is sore now. (And this comment is simply to say "thanks" and to see how many double-entendres I can create while I'm home sick with a cold.) - Tim1965 (talk) 18:20, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- De nada, mi amigo homosexual. I luvz the article; local history + interesting architecture = two of my favorite subjects (other subjects include: sculptures, architectural details, back alley dives, and balls) RE: thick Reagan object thrust into my abyss - I'll do it for the Gipper. Did you actually say in an edit summary, "It's too large"??? I had no idea that phrase was in your vocabulary. I only know it because you used the words first...but I'm not sure what it means. Still, shocking. Shocking. - Tim1965 (talk) 00:43, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Possible article rescue
Sorry to bother you; I remembered dealing with you some time ago about an LGBT article and thought this might interest you. Essentially, Sex change controversy at Baptist hospital in Oklahoma City,OK needs (1) someone to look at it and determine if there is sufficient notability to keep the article, and (2) if it's worth keeping, some work on providing references. I also think the article's title needs attention but I have no idea what to do about it. My apologies if this is out of your field; it's certainly out of mine, but the edit summary seemed to indicate that there were references to be had, and I didn't want to speedy this without giving it a bit of a chance. Thanks for any attention to this you feel able to provide; if you have any questions or problems, I'm at your service. Accounting4Taste:talk 01:01, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- I should have mentioned that the article's creator was a SPA who created this one article and departed, or else I would have tried there first. Accounting4Taste:talk 01:03, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- Howdy. I'll be more than happy to take a look. APK whisper in my ear 03:49, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm. To be honest, I'm not familiar with transgender topics, so it may be notable or an event with no indication of lasting significance. I searched Google News and found Associated Press reports from September–October 1977. I'll post a message at WT:LGBT; hopefully, someone can help. APK whisper in my ear 17:38, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'd say if you can find enough 3rd party coverage on G-news, then it would be notable enough for an article. CTJF83 chat 19:32, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

I can't believe I'm coming to you with a LGBT-related problem twice within weeks -- but I don't quite know where to turn, and I know something has to be done. In advance, my apologies; I know you're not the ultimate authority on all LGBT issues, just the one that I happen to know. I assessed Jenny Lynn Shimizu as part of new page patrol and thought it was definitely worth retaining. My problem came when I went to create a redirect at Jenny Shimizu and found that not only was there an existing article, it was also well-referenced and had been in place since 2006. I think someone with an idea of what's notable and what's not needs to go through both articles and create a single one, with redirects as appropriate, but I am daunted by the task, since the intricacies of both fashion modeling and lesbianism are unknown to me, and I strongly suspect I'd get the emphasis wrong. Is this something you could either handle yourself or pass on to an interested party? I am very reluctant to just let this sit as a time bomb for someone else to discover, and I'll do whatever I can to help, but I think I need some LGBT and/or fashion model related guidance/oversight. Your comments would be very welcome (and, frankly, your censure would probably be appropriate; if I'm doing the wrong thing by bringing these issues to you, I can stand to hear it). Accounting4Taste:talk 23:20, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- I've also left notes on the respective talk pages and at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard; this may get attention without having to drag you in on it. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:34, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- No problemo. IMHO, Jenny Lynn Shimizu should be redirected to Jenny Shimizu, because the latter doesn't come across as a fan-written entry, and as you mentioned, it's been a WP article since 2006. Portions of the new article could be incorporated, though much of the content is referenced with BLP-questionable sources. I'll see if anyone has commented at BLP/N. APK whisper in my ear 02:26, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your assistance and expert assessment. I note that someone has commented at BLP/N in roughly the same way as you about the fannishness of Jenny Lynn Shimizu and has made a few edits to it. Given these comments, and the fact that the creator of the new article is pretty much a SPA, I would agree that the redirection sounds reasonable. I suppose I'm just nervous about imposing my judgment on an article about a "dyke icon" since I'm woefully ignorant about such things. I'll wait to see what the editor who commented at BLP/N makes of it -- I don't know where s/he's going with the editing -- but I am now much more confident that this situation will be resolved for the greater good. Again, your assistance is much appreciated. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:09, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

North American blizzard of 2009
Hey APK, I've been considering nominating North American blizzard of 2009 for WP:GA. I know you were doing a bunch of work on that article with me when it was ongoing, and was wondering if you thought there was anything missing before it could hit that status. I went through and did a checkup on it and verified the references still worked (one didn't, but I fixed that and added another for good measure). Do you have any particular concerns with the article? Thanks! --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 03:37, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- Howdy. I'm not an expert at writing GAs, but I'll be happy to assist. I'll work on the article sometime tomorrow – trying to finish a long-overdue task on Commons. I've been uploading pix the past week or so; although, this weekend's Snowmageddon / Snowpocalypse / We're All Going to Die / World War 3 has hampered my WikiProductivity. Narcissistic side note: A street interview is the last thing I would have expected to do this morning.
- Exit question (including talk page stalkers): In light of the presidential proclamation, are we survivors of Snowpocalypse or Snowmageddon? Discuss. (Third option – The Day After Tomorrow) APK whisper in my ear 02:47, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Snowmageddon – I think that the December storm was most commonly called the "Snowpocalypse", and it seems uncreative to re-purpose the label.

Could you look at a sandboxed article and see if it passes?
Could you take a look at User:Coral135/Blackbook2 and provide an opinion about whether it clears notability? It seems a bit borderline to me on the references, and a similar article has been speedied three times. Thus I'd like to get a few additional opinions on it before making a determination that it's ready for prime-time. See User talk:SchuminWeb/Archive 22#Blackbook2 need to be unprotected for some background on it. Thanks! SchuminWeb (Talk) 04:14, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm unable to locate any media coverage (a Google News search resulted in press releases), so unless there's a news article hiding in the Interwebz, the subject doesn't appear to meet notability requirements. APK whisper in my ear 21:56, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

D.C. vs the Flying Saucers
I know you like big, thick buildings with massive pilotis, so here's a vastly expanded Robert C. Weaver Federal Building article for your architectural enjoyment. I was gonna write about a 1904 strike in Chicago involving pigs, but got caught on this instead. I'm going in for arthroscopic surgery in about two weeks (I hope) because I've got me a sweetie of a meniscus tear. I'll have nothing to do for 10 days but sit on my butt, moan (in pain), watch old movies, bitch about the lack of friends coming over to comfort me, and (just maybe) write more articles. I'm wondering if you can find some interest in this LGBT biography and find some citations -- or not -- that would nail this down one way or the other. The books seem to be essentially self-published, which confers no notability, but I'm suspecting that there's notability in association with the Metropolitan Community Church. Whatever you feel like doing is fine with me. I've just declined an incorrect speedy deletion tag, which may give this article some time, but if it gets deleted and you're curious, just leave me a note and I'll retrieve the content for you. Thanks in advance, Accounting4Taste:talk 23:53, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

And I'm out of Ronnie Silver (or Adrian Komar when he's working for Bloc, or Jan Slavik and "Jiri" when he's working for Eagle Video, or Toby Garret when he's working for Bubble B Entertainment, or Milan Vokoun when he's working for William Higgins, and the man without a name when he works for Clair Productions) movies! *whine* - Tim1965 (talk) 23:38, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
DC WikiProject
Would you mind if I started a section on the main WikiProject page detailing photo requests? I have several that I would like for members of the DC WikiProject to try to obtain. WhisperToMe (talk) 14:36, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Please review
I did a bit of a rewrite of Lincoln Memorial. Would you mind giving it a skim over to see if it meets your expectations? The history should be much more thorough and it only has maybe one or two unsourced statements. Might want to mention it to any other Washingtonians that would be interested. Thanks. upstateNYer 05:34, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

A big one
I did another big one today. I couldn't help myself! I just got caught up in the moment, and then the next thing you know... I'd done it. But I'm not ashamed! I'm not, damnit! I'm glad I did it. I'd do it again. No need to make me do it; I want to do another big one like this again. (By the way, this is right up your alley...) - Tim1965 (talk) 03:17, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

What I do with Bob Herbert "left-wing" has no bearing on what I do with Pensacola Christian College remove. It is hypocritical for you to complain while trying to insert fundamentalist as many times as you can. Conservative Christian is a better definition for schools that use A Beka than fundamentalist. Examiner
Try reading AGF before responding. I know the timeline, but Examiner.com (which is blacklisted) is where the link goes to, not washingtonexaminer.com, where the real Washington Examiner is now located. You can't host a source on a blacklisted site. Niteshift36 (talk) 02:42, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Watch your goddamn attitude when you're on my page. Got it? Instead of removing valid references (which you did), try replacing them with the washingtonexaminer.com source. It's not that hard. It took me less than one minute on Kennedy-Warren Apartment Building. You just removed another reference from The Washington Examiner, instead of replacing it with this link. That's just lazy. Now shoo. APK whisper in my ear 02:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Howdy
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I meant to leave you a message the other day, when I noticed a really good photo you'd taken. I think it was the National Gallery. But I've noticed several of your very nice shots recently. Hope all is well and that you're getting ready for a good summer. Best, MarmadukePercy (talk) 15:18, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Dear TPS,
The Lord laid it upon my heart to share these photos of two beautiful people. Match. Made. In. Heaven. I'm just afraid of what the offspring will look like. "The power of Christ compels you!" APK whisper in my ear 19:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Question
My Dear APK, I respect your right to remove my photo from the Newseum site, albeit, I don't necessarily agree with you. The surrounding photos you submitted are great outdoor images. However, the Newseum has a lot of firsts in the catagory of digital news gathering, i.e. the Viginia Tech massacre. In submitting the Electronic Window to the World image or any inside image, I was trying to drive that message home. My question is, why did you remove the edit from my watchlist? Karen Nutini (talk) 16:55, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- I don't understand the last sentence. I have no control over whether or not an article is removed from your watchlist. Anyway, I removed your photo because the "Building" section was cluttered with two images. It's a good photo, but I don't see the need for two images of the atrium. If you want to replace the current atrium photo, help yourself. I randomly picked one, and it happened to be yours. APK whisper in my ear 20:41, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Happy Memorial Day
Thanks and the same to you. Today I am staying in and avoiding crowds; we overindulged these past few days, culminating last night in a rare trip to JR's. (It was much as I remembered it.)

The first time I sang karaoke was at a Harley-Davidson bar in Raleigh. Yours truly sang that classic gospel song, My Neck, My Back. It was somethin' special.
P.S. Guess where I went today!?! I feel uppity. APK whisper in my ear 21:16, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hrmm... Could it be the Museum of Gay Art in Rehomo?
- P.S. The Europeans want their shit back. -epicAdam(talk) 21:48, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
