Tallahassee
The Tallahassee page has been edited my friend.
http://www.talgov.com/planning/pdf/support/2009sd/1_1.pdf < Ref , Thank You , Sir :) Have a good day —Preceding unsigned comment added by GatorSlayerFSU (talk • contribs) 22:27, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mmmmmk. The Tallahassee page was edited by you, my friend. I don't know what that has to do with your edit to List of United States cities by population, a featured list. The article clearly states "The following table lists the incorporated places in the United States with a population of more than 100,000 as estimated by the United States Census Bureau for July 1, 2008." The article's hidden comment says "Do NOT CHANGE TO ANY FIGURES OR NUMBERS NOT MATCHING THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU. EDITS WILL BE REVERTED." You're citing a 2009 population estimate; that screws up the rankings since the entire list is using the same 2008 estimate. You're welcome, Sir. APK say that you love me 22:54, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

- I'm happy to see that User:Alansohn expanded the article and put it up for DYK, with current nomination here. Please do add more to the article and/or suggest an alternative DYK hook. The current one is okay but maybe a little wordy, IMO. Something punchier and that also refers to what can be seen in the photo is more likely to keep the photo included in the hook. How about: "Did you know that Washingtonians eat Chinese food where Abraham Lincoln assassins conspired?" Thanks! doncram (talk) 01:53, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Help
I created this username because Jehochman suggested that my previous ones were offensive to liberals. I agreed and did so, admitting that my first Wiki edits were sometimes inadvertently disruptive. He allowed and encouraged my new name. The bind I'm in is that even if the other grounds for blocking get lifted, I will always have two prior usernames. He obviously can't unblock an inappropriate username (deletion was one idea I thought about, but I don't know if that's possible). So what do I do? At first, it was all right. We lived sinlessly. We slept in the same bed, but we never did it. And then, that night, I saw him looking down at me that way. We got down on our knees to pray for strength. I smelled the whiskey on his breath. Then he took me. He took me, with the stink of filthy roadhouse whiskey on his breath, and I liked it. I liked it! With all that dirty touching of his hands all over me. I should've given you to God when you were born, but I was weak and backsliding, and now the devil has come home. Un foto, por favor
When you get a chance, can you please grab a good shot of the Lincoln Memorial? Our collection outright blows and Flickr is no better in the "encyclopedic overview shot" department. I'm going to do a rewrite soon and I need a straight-on shot. Right around 38°53′21.39″N 77°2′57.42″W / 38.8892750°N 77.0492833°W would be good (that's right, step right on Alaska, you know it likes it) or further east if that's too close, and if you have a camera with a good zoom, try getting a shot from 38°53′21.86″N 77°2′27.98″W / 38.8894056°N 77.0411056°W as well (just to compare). Morning would be best (sun behind you), with blue skies. Not sure if you can do it now, or if all the leaves have gone yet. But if you have to wait till spring, I can live. For now I'm using this, which is okay, but the stairs in the foreground are distracting. I really like this (and other similar versions at Flickr), but don't think a lead image should be a night shot. Don't worry about post processing, I'll do that. Let me know if you're up to it, oh Washington-Post-front-pager. upstateNYer 02:52, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

historic house museums in newport, rhode island
Hi - I've been going through all of the Category:Museums in the United States by state in order and as you can probably tell, am up to Rhode Island. Although I understand the desire (in fact, back in the spring I did the same thing with art museums in Manhattan), there's been rough agreement that "where" museum categories and "what" museum categories should not be merged below the state or national level. Feel free to bring it up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Museums if you'd like to get more people involved or read the old discussions. If you look at art museums in Manhattan though, I unwound it after the lessons I've learned doing 3/4 of the country. Newport has probably the most impressive collection of "cottages", and even though there are enough to justify a category, that depth doesnt work anywhere else, nor does splitting it up into two categories really hinder the goal of categories which is to help tie similar things together. Hope that helps explain it. BTW: I hope you notice I'm doing general cleanup along the way toodm (talk) 21:14, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

You may feel that I insulted you by calling something you said an "unsubstantiated assertion", but it's not constructive to say "reverting this because MichaelLNorth is throwing insults around" in an edit summary as you have done here. - Doughtnuts - a subject close to my heart (screw the $5 cupcake fad in this strange, hipster-infested city). I'll be upfront and admit my bias; as any godly person from North Carolina will tell you, Krispy Kreme sells the best doughtnuts. Then again, one of my ex-luvahs worked for K.K. (corporate job). At that time, I had an endless supply of free chocolate-iced, kreme-filled morsels; but, alas, my sugary supplier fell victim to KKD's nosedive. I exited stage right. Am I heartless? Maybe. - Hunter gathering should only be forced upon the 36% of Americans that still believe in
global coolinganthropogenic global warming; we need not all suffer.
- Fun fact #1 - In Britain, 59% of the population view AGW with "talk-show brand of bastardised scepticism that is borne of wilful ignorance", even though citizens will face catastrophic consequences unless billions of pounds are paid each year to third-world countries. Call it, if you will, the redistribution of wealth - a core policy of the Green Party.
- Fun fact #2 - "Climate change experts" tell the greedy, uneducated bourgeoisie that government will need to regulate most aspects of your life "to avert an Armageddon scenario". The Climatic Research Unit "experts", a totally non-partisan group dedicated to fighting AGW heresy, also lecture developing countries on why they should limit, or preferably, reverse their economic growth and population.
- Fun fact #3 - Thousands of politicians and delegates traveling to the Copenhagen summit will arrive by plane, train, automobile, boats, and public transportation - their carbon emissions are unfortunate, but necessary, mmmk. Their emissions can be "offset" by paying for condoms and birth control to be distributed in Africa - "Help control the African population. Have your Kenyans spayed or neutered."
- Fun fact #4 - AGW is in the same moral category as slavery and Nazism. Speaking of Nazism, individuals who question the existence of AGW - for example, 51% of the U.S. adult population - are far right deniers. (get it, "denier" wink wink) Because "ecological holocaust" deniers are more dangerous than Holocaust deniers. Margo Kingston brilliantly suggested charging "deniers" with crimes against humanity; an international criminal tribunal is a possibility, according to Mark Lynas. Inspired by the set of most-wanted Iraqi playing cards, hat tip to George W. Bush, George Monbiot created a handy-dandy set of "climate change denier cards".
- Fun fact #5 - Climategate is nothing more than "swiftboating" and the "spreading of disinformation" from "flat-Earthers". Obviously, it's WP:NOTNEWS; ignore this and Monbiot's recent posts. Repeat after me: There is no scandal. If we let the other side call it a scandal, then the terrorists win. APK whisper in my ear 19:10, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks for the lovely template message. It's stunning. Anywho, it's my photo taken with my camera. Compare the Metadata with all of my other photos on this site and Commons. The image licensing and link to my Flickr version are already on the file, so what is the problem? APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 02:12, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. I suggest you not do this again. Replacing the source (me) with a link to my Flickr account is unnecessary since I uploaded it to WP and Flickr. APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 02:18, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- OK Striking through warning above. Tagging something as {{own}} is unhelpful though if the image is moved to Commons.
The current Source field for the image, has subst'ed the {{own}}, put in your user name, and put a link to Flickr original. That should satisfy anyone that has doubts about the image :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:04, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- You're the first person to have doubts about my images, so I'll stick with my uploading routine. It now appears you're trying to make some kind of point, for reasons unknown, because my watchlist is flooded with your unnecessary tags on dozens of files. Your sudden interest in my entire uploading history is very odd. APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 13:02, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Gay porn
Reverting the poor bot. :-( --MZMcBride (talk) 03:29, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- ? - APK be confused. APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 03:32, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- Just saw the "list of gay porn performers" bot notice / revert and thought it'd be a shame to not have a gay porn header on this page. --MZMcBride (talk) 03:45, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- I would have preferred specific gay porn titles. (examples: Batman in Robin, Homo Alone, The Gaytrix, Schindler's Fist, Cum of All Queers, Fill Bill, Everybody Does Raymond, Dawson's Crack) APK lives in Dupont and Gomorrah 04:03, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- License to Drill, On Golden Blond, Bi-tanic, The Hills Have Bi's,... And according to the poster hanging on my wall, Sex Invaders promises that "In space, no one can hear you scream for more!" - Tim1965 (talk) 00:46, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

YAY
YAY to you for File:Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium - Washington, D.C..JPG going up on DYK on 02 December 2009. Now, if I could have only found an appropriate image of eroto-comatose lucidity, there would have been some real fun on DYK. (It's too bad you're not devoting your skill to that sort of fun stuff!) - Tim1965 (talk) 00:44, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yeehaw! Kudos on the DYK and the Federal Triangle 50x(?) expansion. The c. 1851 map was a good find. The oldest map I've come across is from 1909. In regards to photographing heathen activities, I won't deny or confirm having snapped a few naughty pix on request, but I'll freely admit to being a heathen. David Huebner
For most purposes diplomats wouldn't be considered politicians, but since Category:LGBT politicians is already inclusive of political advisors and other such non-elected figures I can't see a really compelling reason why it couldn't be inclusive of ambassadors — but at the same time, it's not always strictly necessary for every LGBT person to be in an LGBT-occupation category at all, either. "LGBT people from country" should always be present, certainly, but "LGBT occupation" doesn't (and shouldn't, per WP:CATGRS) exist for every occupation, and "gay occupation" exists in even fewer cases (i.e. only where an LGBT occupation category has gotten large enough to warrant separating it into a separate subcategory for each individual letter.)
So, I don't know: if there's a compelling reason why he needs to be in an LGBT-specific occupational category, then Category:Gay politicians would probably be reasonable — but at least within the project's current category structure, that type of categorization isn't actually a requirement at all. And Huebner was completely alone in Category:Gay men, by the way — the category's only contents were him and the occupational subcategories. Bearcat (talk) 00:02, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Doh!! I didn't realize he was the only one in Category:Gay men. Anywho, you've made a good point; he's listed under Category:LGBT people from the United States, so I won't bother adding Category:Gay politicians. Thanks. APK whisper in my ear 00:09, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
