Examples of pages within A-I topic area that started out with massacre in the title and were moved to new titles
[edit]Caveats:
- Only 'examples' rather than 'all' because there is a dependency on the presence of a piped link to WP:AES in the query that produced these results, and I don't know when the Wikipedia system started including that in comments for new pages in namespace 0 (mainly because the server is not great at searching comments and I can't be bothered to run a long-running query).
- This is not a good method because there will be many other examples of pages that started out with massacre in the title and were moved that I can't see this way.
- Also, editors can overwrite the automatic edit summary that records the original title, so, those articles will be missed. The Al-Awda school attack is an example where the edit summary does not record the original title. The original title could be extracted from the page content of the first revision, but again, I can't be bothered.
- It is possible to reconstruct move histories from the logs, but I haven't got around to doing that. That method, would for example, pick up the move from Al-Awda School massacre to Al-Awda school attack.
