Team Changes
[edit]- RB decided to expand it's acronym to use "Racing Bulls" despite the name "Scuderia Toro Rosso" being available.
Driver Changes
[edit]- After 11 years with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton decided to leave the German team and race for Ferrari, taking the place of Carlos Sainz, Jr.
- This left Carlos Sainz, Jr. without a drive for 2025. Sainz later announced he would join Williams on a multiyear contract.
- Mercedes announced that Hamilton's replacement would F2 driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the first Italian driver since 2021.
- Nico Hülkenberg left Haas after two years with the team, returning to Sauber for the second time. He last drove for the team in 2013.
- Haas then decided to field an all new line up for 2025, first signing Oliver Bearman after he impressed for Ferrari at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and then Esteban Ocon, who leaves Team Enstone after five years. Ocon's departure from Alpine occurred after he crashed with then team-mate, Pierre Gasly at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix/
- Haas' decision left Kevin Magnussen without a drive for 2025.
- Alpine later announced that Jack Doohan would replace Ocon for 2025, despite not racing at all in 2024.
- Sauber signed Gabriel Bortoleto to partner Hulkenberg, leaving Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu without drives for 2025.
- Despite constant rumours late in 2024, Sergio Pérez kept his drive with Red Bull.
