Centenary Action

[edit]

Centenary Action is a membership organisation in the United Kingdom.  It campaigns to increase the number of women in the House of Commons, with the aim of increasing the proportion to 50% by 2028[1].  It also campaigns to dismantle barriers that hinder women’s participation, selection, and retention in politics[2].

Centenary Action was established in 2018 to mark the centenary of some women in the UK getting the right to vote.  It is a cross-party campaigning organisation bringing local, national and international organisations together[3].

Centenary Action has over 100 members including organisations such as the Fawcett Society, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the Electoral Reform Society.  It is hosted by CARE International UK who provide operational and administrative support.
