YK Pao School is a bilingual (Chinese/English) school located in the Changning district of Shanghai, China. The school was founded in memory of Sir Yue-Kong Pao, a renowned businessman, statesman and philanthropist. The school offers an education that is rooted in Chinese culture, yet integrated with an international approach and perspective.

Integrated Curriculum with Dual Language Immersion

- Languages are taught in an immersion environment by native language speakers inside and outside the classroom.
- A balanced curriculum allows for daily exposure to both Chinese and English.
- Children learn to use language naturally as a communication tool.
- The curriculum is designed by international and Chinese educators.
Whole Person Development
[edit]- Children are encouraged to discover and develop their potential through a broad range of activities outside the classroom such as music, art, dance, calligraphy, drama, sculpture, basketball, wushu, football, swimming, rugby, yoga, community service, charity work, debating, student newspaper writing, radio club and orchestra.
- Opportunities are planned for exchanges with top schools in the UK, including the Dragon School[3] and Eton College.
Development
[edit]The YK Pao School plans to open a secondary school within three years. The school will provide full boarding facilities as well as a full range of music and sporting activities. The curriculum will meet requirements both for the Chinese national curriculum and also the International Baccalaureate.
