Question
[edit]Shouldn't it say Baltimore Orioles/New York Highlanders/New York Yankees, not just New York Yankees? Adam Penale (talk) 01:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Arrangement
[edit]I personally think that this template should be arranged not by alphabetical order of the pitchers' last names, but rather, arranged by the year that each pitcher was first an Opening Day starter. However, I wanted to see what other people thought of this change before making it, so how does it sound? Yankees Expert (talk) 20:08, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Actually, now looking at the history of this template, it seems that it used to be the way I proposed, but was changed in late 2010, and I don't understand why. Yankees Expert (talk) 20:10, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- There's a number of reasons. Primarily though is ease of navigation. The old version...
- ... is massive and clunky. Its size is over 7k, while the current version is about 2k. Also, this version is repetitive, containing names more than once, in the cases of those who served as ODSP more than once. If you want to know what year each pitcher was the ODSP, then you should access the article, which contains more information. The point of the template is to provide easy navigation to related articles, but the old template was meddlesome. Providing the years and order of ODSP's is going above and beyond the purpose of a navbox. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:35, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
