I went looking for the source for what's currently citation 4 ("References are made to Shun (also known as Chong Hua) and to the Xiang River goddesses") which is given as Davis, page 83. I can't find anything even close to this in Davis. I only have access to the '71 printing of the book, but page 83 is an index. It seems likely that it's somewhere in the volume, but I've tried to skim through to find where it mentions Shun—or indeed anyone of a similar description, considering the multiple names involved—and haven't found it.
