Main article: Digital preservation

Permalinks are URLs that are intended to remain unchanged for many years into the future, yielding hyperlinks that are less susceptible to link rot. Permalinks are often rendered simply, that is, as friendly URLs, so as to be easy for people to type and remember. Permalinks are used in order to point and redirect readers to the same Web page, blog post or any online digital media.

The scientific literature is a place where link persistence is crucial to the public knowledge. A 2013 study in BMC Bioinformatics analyzed 15,000 links in abstracts from Thomson Reuters' Web of Science citation index, founding that the median lifespan of Web pages was 9.3 years, and just 62% were archived. The median lifespan of a Web page constitutes high-degree variable, but its order of magnitude usually is of some months. Pipera (talk) 07:45, 10 January 2025 (UTC) January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Main Articles FYI

Main Articles

The reason for this is to allow people to gain access to each entry in a fluid movement, the way it was before it was disjointed, I have come into this article to improve it, and to make navigation easier.

In other articles:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Empire Roman Empire - Wikipedia they are scattered within the article they serve the same purpose.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Empire Byzantine Empire they are also scattered throughout the article.

I am following what is on other pages here at Wikipedia. Pipera (talk) 07:59, 10 Pipera (talk) 08:02, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Site Updates - January 2025

[edit]

I have

a) updated the Citations and Reference sections.
b] Added Main Articles so that clients can easily jump from article to article, this was not here.
c) Added Extinction of the Martin - FitzMartin lineage.
d) Updated the marriage and issues section, added a table format (which is now in some Wikipedia entries.)
e) Added jump hyperlinks to the article that were not there.
f) Added more references.

That is what I have done to update the site that was sitting here since 2023, of which I am descendant of this Martin family. Pipera (talk) 08:14, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This article was not touched sine 2023, when the article was created, I came into the article from a viewpoint of making the article better. I received a message on my talk page about the article and responded with an answer.

This Martin line became extinct in 1326, the only descendants of his were though his daughter Joan of which I am a descendant, so I came here to make improvements to the site.

How can this article improve? Pipera (talk) 16:37, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Pipera, that's why I am trying to assist you. By learning how Wikipedia articles are to be written and formatted the article might now be ready for a review of the stub rating. Regards Newm30 (talk) 01:45, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
