Vague to the point of meaninglessness statements
[edit]The sentence 'Xu frequently uses concrete images to create the abstract idea that she is attempting to communicate to the audience.' seems pointless to me, since you could restate it as 'Xu sometimes explains the abstract in terms of the concrete', which is a rather banal statement. 'She frequently uses enjambment to create sharp breaks between lines as well as to add to the aesthetic of her poetry.' is redundant, because if we rewrite the sentence with Wikipedia's definition of 'enjambment', we get 'she frequently uses incomplete syntax at the end of a line to create sharp breaks between lines': incomplete sentences at the end of a line seem as close to a 'sharp break between lines' as one might get. 'Xu often writes using idiosyncratic language and imagery to mirror the effect of enjambment in her expression of thought.' is another unclear statement: what is the effect of enjambment 'in her expression of thought'? How about the following for a rewrite?
Xu's poems are often written as single stanza works that lack rhyme or meter, frequently employment enjambment for aesthetic purposes, and include idiosyncratic language and imagery.
The article doesn't convey what her poetry is like- a clearer exposition combined with an example would be a much better representative of her work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umberto.malzone (talk • contribs) 15:58, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
