Plagiarism in the history section

[edit]

While looking for sources to add citations for the history section, I looked at the Washougal city's website, including the history page, I realized that the history section directly copied parts of sentences and whole sentences from the city's website. Is there a template message for plagiarism like there is one for additional citations? LycheeDragonLover (talk) 16:00, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that the plagiarizing text was added in 2006 and lines up with what was on the city website from 2005. The whole section will have to be blanked and redone from scratch. SounderBruce 01:26, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Climate data questions.

[edit]

I looked up the location of the weather station for the climate data of Washougal and noticed it is twelve miles east-northeast from the city limits. Does anyone know how weatherbase.com gets their data and what kind of weather stations they use for this data? It is an interesting website but I am having trouble finding out an explanation of how exactly they get their data. Notably the rainfall for Washougal is significantly higher than any other location in the Portland metro area and I suspect this is because the weather station is located at a higher elevation and is also being affected by the microclimate of the Columbia Gorge well away from the Washougal city limits. I also noticed that the data on that site appears to be out of date as they don’t have the record high numbers from the 2021 heat dome when all Portland metro locations exceeded record highs of over 110 degrees. If someone has more info about that website, I would greatly appreciate it. 2601:1C2:4102:1E0:693C:9A9F:E770:1723 (talk) 19:29, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
