Before the 2001 attack, we used to be able to get a solid signal from WNYC-FM in the car as far north as Bear Mountain, maybe beyond. Now you can't even drive to the other side of New Jersey before entirely losing the (WQXR) signal.
The article mentions the 2001 attack, the loss of WNYC's FM transmitter, and the studio moving around a couple of times since then.
But are there any plans to return the transmitter to the new World Trade Center towers? If not, are there any petitions to get the ball rolling?
