Notability
[edit]This article was originally created soon after Salmon announced his candidacy. It was then deleted on the grounds of being a "Local candidate for minor office".
First off, I would argue that state-wide elective office is not "local", or "minor" office, and serious candidates for such office are notable.
But in any event, he has now gone from being a candidate to being the winner, and will soon hold one of six state-wide elected offices in Vermont. As Wikipedia has a project to create articles on every state legislator throughout the country, I would think a state-wide elected officer certainly meets the standards of notability. Also, the uniqueness of the successful recount certainly adds to the notability.--Cbvt 06:35, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
