I think the page theatre should be moved because the word theatre might be in British English. 99.73.230.112 (talk) 00:55, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The English Wikipedia has no defined standard English Variety. Some articles are in British English, others are in American English, and we let them stay that unless there's a really good reason not to.  Not done. And this is the wrong venue for this request anyway. * Pppery * it has begun... 22:13, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What?! But it is in British English maybe most Americans pronounce as theater 99.73.230.112 (talk) 00:54, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Theatre should be moved to theater because theatre might be written in British English. 99.73.230.112 (talk) 00:52, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: This is a redirect from the title in American English to the title in British English. The title is as intended. Sincerely, Guessitsavis (she/they) (Talk) 12:03, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Theater is not a alternative spelling it's actually written in American English so replace that redirect template 99.73.230.112 (talk) 23:34, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Not sure I am following here. The template says "This is a redirect from a title with an alternative spelling..." and Comparison of American and British English says "Differences between the two include [...] spelling". Are you saying that a difference is not equivalent to an alternative? Maybe. In that case {{R from alternative spelling}} would need to be changed or a different template used. I couldn't find a specific template to replace it with, but if you do reactivate your request here.--Commander Keane (talk) 00:03, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect template replacement

[edit]

because theatre is used for British English and Theater is used for American English so technically no it's not a alternative spelling replace {{R from alternative spelling}} with {{R from American English}} 99.73.230.112 (talk) 17:35, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for finding the template and making a specific request. Commander Keane (talk) 20:46, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
