Note

[edit]

May I just mention that this entire article was ported back from one I wrote for the Citizendium project. Fair enough, since at the time the Citizendium was forking WP using the GNU licence. Hopefully it will thrive in its new environment as well.

Original research

[edit]

C.m.jones had, I believe, incorrectly tagged this article as possibly containing original research. I would like to clarify that is nothing in this article that cannot be found either in any of many biographies of Dickens, or in his letters, or in Brannan's very detailed book, which is listed as a source. I do not believe that the WP policy forbids someone who is familiar with a variety of reliable, well-known and in-print source materials from reading, digesting (as would the ordinary reader) and then outlining in her or his own words the information contained, provided that relevant sources are listed, as they are here. All I have done is to put forward what is known about this play from published sources.

If there are some sentences, or ways in which information is presented here, which seem to stray into "gray areas" or perhaps even ought to be deleted, I hope that perhaps either C.m. jones or other users would either leave a comment on the talk page or simply go ahead and edit the article.

Tale of Two Cities

[edit]

Didn't Dickens Claim that this play was important to his own Tale of Two Cities. If not, I have definitely seen this claim before, and I'm sure it's significant.138.51.246.224 (talk) 20:01, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
