Cleanup, and edit needed on the following sections
[edit]- Clean-up
Temilade is not a board member of Warner Music Group, that a wrong information. She's an employee, and not even on the management board of directors. Aside from being credited for the crossover success of CKay 2019 single "Love Nwantiti", she's also a key player in breakout of TitoM and Yuppee, with their runaway track, “Tshwala Bam”. She also oversees the day-to-day activities of Africori, Coleske, and WM Africa Francophone, a flagship of Warner Music Africa.
She reported to Stu Bergen and not under the leadership of Stephen Cooper, that a wrong information.
- Edit
#Section1 - Header
Temilade Adeniji popularly known as Temi Adeniji is a Nigerian-American music executive, and managing director of Warner Music Africa (formerly known as Warner Music South Africa), leading Warner Music Group’s operations in Africa. She is credited for the crossover success of CKay 2019 single "Love Nwantiti", and "Tshwala Bam", the breakthrough single by TitoM, and Yuppee.
#Section2 - Career
Adeniji began her career at Shearman & Sterling, and then moved to Kirkland & Ellis.[1] She joined Warner Music Group in 2016 as Director of the International Strategy & Operations department, reporting to the CEO of Warner Music International, Stu Bergen.[2] In 2019, she became VP of the department and was later elevated to SVP in 2020. In 2021, she was named managing director of Warner Music Africa (fka. Warner Music South Africa), and senior vice president to lead the strategy team for Sub-Saharan Africa. Under her leadership, WMA’s portfolio of subsidiaries under her remit includes Africori, Coleske, and WM Africa Francophone, a flagship of Warner Music Africa, in-partnership with Africori, and Warner Music France.
- Note
That is my edit @Ganesha811, for clarity I added all citations and also Africori, and Coleske is owned by Warner Music Africa, you can check the page. I already made all edit on Warner Music Africa's page. With this information's shared, it's clear and it's not misleading in anyway. She was born as Temilade Adeniji, Hameedat is her religious name as a Muslim, but she converted and now a Christian, and no longer goes by Hameedat (that should be taken off). Afí-afeti (talk) 12:09, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! I agree that the misinformation should be fixed, so let's remove the stuff about her being a board member. I don't think it's very important who she reported to and we can remove that too; I'll make an edit shortly. I'm not sure about your proposed changes to the lead/header or career. This isn't a resume, but it sort of reads that way. The sources you had added are mostly not independent or secondary. —Ganesha811 (talk) 16:03, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Switch to "under the leadership of the CEO of Warner Music International, Stu Bergen". Afí-afeti (talk) 17:15, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- What is the source for your information about her name/religion? —Ganesha811 (talk) 16:05, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hameedat is an Islamic name. An article on New York Times about her clearly wrote she's married in Church. I'm Nigerian, you don't see Christian with an Islamic name. Once they convert they stop going by the other name and move on. That's an old publication, all new publication doesn't address her as Hameedat unless they took the information from the Wikipedia profile. Afí-afeti (talk) 16:48, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- That seems like WP:OR to me, I don't think we can regard that as a source. —Ganesha811 (talk) 16:54, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I just need this taken out
Hameedat. If we are to start up a debate within the Nigeria community it's going to pass, so that's a valid point. - As for her being married or not, I don't know and with the look of her profiling currently I don't see any link of her being married or still married. I am not asking for that content to be included but for the name be taken out from her profile. Afí-afeti (talk) 17:12, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- She didn't start her career as a lawyer, she's only qualified to practice law in the state of New York. Afí-afeti (talk) 17:19, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Look out for the section NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED You see her name, as the first name on the list. Afí-afeti (talk) 17:25, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I don't mind if you tweak the wording there, but if she's a member of the bar in NY, that makes her a lawyer. As for the name, I'm not sure what you mean, precisely. Could you rephrase or clarify? Unrelated, do you have any COI with regards to this article? —Ganesha811 (talk) 17:32, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I have no COI, all information shared is backed up with a source. As for the article, I started it and had some wrong info. I followed her GQ publication and radio interview when they launched in Nigeria. Have been skeptical about creating out time to readdress the wrong information on the Wikipedia.
- I took out time to check journals, and whatever outlet I could get my hand on. I also created Warner Africa, Universal Music Africa, Virgin Music Group and a lot more. I don't even know any of the 3Big label representative, just focused on building music related articles and sometimes, I touch on other categories related to entertainment or business. Afí-afeti (talk) 17:49, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- In other news, if I had a COI with the subject. As the creator of the Wikipedia profile, I should know all this and not come back after a year or 2, just to correct what I started. Don't know if that's makes sense. Afí-afeti (talk) 17:55, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Also the Billboard mention on her as one of the international power player of 2024. Is huge, as an African woman to be recognized for her contribution as a key player in breaking Africa music globally. Afí-afeti (talk) 18:05, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Fair enough, we just need to keep the article neutral and not reading like a resume or an ad! Looking at it now, what are the things you think still need fixed other than her name? —Ganesha811 (talk) 18:08, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- rephase to Adeniji attended Culver Academies, a college preparatory boarding school located in Culver, Indiana. She then graduated from Princeton University, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Economy. Adeniji then completed a joint degree program, with a Juris Doctor (JD) from Columbia Law School and a Master of Laws (LLM) from University College London. Afí-afeti (talk) 06:14, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Wrongly written:
After her graduation, Adeniji completed a joint degree program from Columbia Law School with a Juris Doctor degree and an Master of Laws degree in 2012. At the time of her studies at Columbia, Adeniji also completed a Master of Laws degree from University College London in 2012Afí-afeti (talk) 06:15, 11 November 2024 (UTC) - I'd say go ahead and edit this in and I'll tweak it if needed, we can come to consensus through editing. I'd leave out the "Culver Academies" part unless there's a better source, though. What you linked is essentially WP:OR and if it's not mentioned elsewhere, that indicates it's probably not an important detail. —Ganesha811 (talk) 01:38, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm done with all updates. It's important her career is made known. We can't build a Wikipedia article and jump to her limelight and forget the struggle. The fact that she spoke about her working career experience with Columbia Law School, it's fair it's brought to light on her Wiki. I also don't see any wrong in putting a recognition section, that doesn't make any article look less of an encyclopedia or read like a CV. Afí-afeti (talk) 07:14, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- With my years of reading on Wiki and also creating articles related to entertainment or music executive, I see the recognition section, and that never made an article look less of an encyclopedia or read like a CV. Here's a list of some persons in the same industry as Temi: Steve Boom, and Leslie Fram. Afí-afeti (talk) 07:37, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think that unless the award is itself notable (like say a Nobel Prize), it's likely not worth mentioning on any biographical page. There are thousands of these little magazine and internet awards and they are inevitably added to a page as non-neutral puffery. —Ganesha811 (talk) 11:33, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Let's start a debate or something, cause am tired of explaining myself. You saw the articles I shared, above and you can see Billboard listed on their recognition section.
- Billboard is not a small magazine, and Billboard Women in Music host a live award not an online event. So I don't understand what else I need to explain to you. Unless you have something else to justify your reason for undoing my edits. Afí-afeti (talk) 13:52, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

- Per WP:ONUS, the onus is on you to gain consensus for inclusion. I’d suggest posting at WP:3PO to help us resolve this dispute. —Ganesha811 (talk) 14:46, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

- 3O Response: I cannot see a good justification for including the section. "Merely being verifiable does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia." In this case, the awards mentioned seem to not have been covered by independent, reliable secondary sources, and mentioning them does not meet the neutrality policy, which above all is governed by the coverage in said sources. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 04:59, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help in giving a 3O! —Ganesha811 (talk) 18:06, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
