Renaming of the article
[edit]@Yoshi Canopus, Browserman20, Tajotep, Huldra, JohnThorne, and Neuroforever: I have opened a discussion here: Talk:Simon the Tanner#Article title: controversial. In short, this 'Simon the tanner' is a biblical character, while the Coptic 10th-century saint is only recognised by Coptic Christians. On the other hand, for them he's a central character of their faith, while biblical 'Simon the tanner' has not been canonised by any Christian denomination (or has he?), and his importance is indirect: his house is where Peter receives the revelation of spreading the faith to the Gentiles. So who deserves to have the unqualified, short and easy to find article name "Simon the Tanner"? Arminden (talk) 11:59, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
