Coconino County?

[edit]

The formal name indicates it covers a part of Coconino County, https://ycesa.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Sedona-Oak-Creek-Joint-Unified-School-District-No.-9-of-Yavapai-and-Coconino-Counties-Revised-2014.pdf and yet the US Census does not show it covering such : 2020 https://www2.census.gov/geo/maps/DC2020/PL20/st04_az/schooldistrict_maps/c04005_coconino/DC20SD_C04005_SD2MS.txt and 2010: https://www2.census.gov/geo/maps/dc10map/sch_dist/st04_az/c04005_coconino/DC10SD_C04005_SD2MS.txt - Did some territory get moved from this district to another? From the State of Arizona map https://doa.az.gov/sites/default/files/2023-08/SFD-Rural-Urban-SD-Map-2022.pdf it seems that Sedona-Oak Creek USD and Flagstaff USD have their boundary at the county line, and yet Sedona-Oak Creek is still called a "joint" district (implying it has territory in another county). I need to search Newspapers.com to see if Sedona-Oak Creek USD ever covered parts of Coconino County? What happened here? WhisperToMe (talk) 18:55, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

But looking at the Flagstaff school district's own boundary map I notice a different shape along the edges, which makes me realize that perhaps the Census maps did not catch the part that is in Sedona-Oak Creek, which made the makers think that part was still in Flagstaff USD? (and the fact it was for both 2010 and 2020, and yet the Flagstaff USD map was made in June 2010 makes me think there's some kind of mistake?) WhisperToMe (talk) 21:34, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I looked again at "SFD-Rural-Urban-SD-Map-2022", so either the state government is making a mistake (which is being passed onto the Census Bureau?) or the boundary was changed around 2010? WhisperToMe (talk) 21:43, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
