Yay
[edit]Hitting "programme" on wikipedia gives a whole one article with the English spelling, and this is it. Huzzah.
Move
[edit]We should move this to "souvenir programme" or something disambiguated like "programme (booklet)", any objections? The term "event programme" in reference to what the article is talking about isn't really used. For example, an image search for souvenir programme actualy gets you relevant results and for event programme, you get results which are not relevant at all. - Epson291 (talk) 00:49, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- I moved it to programme (booklet), since "souvenir programme" doesn't appear to be a universally used appellation. The British spelling should be used (i.e., programme over program) since it was originally started as this in 2005. - Epson291 (talk) 03:21, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Program vs. playbill
[edit]The OED clearly distinguishes between a "program," meaning a notice (esp. a sheet or booklet) of an event's proceedings that is issued to an audience, and a "playbill," meaning a bill or poster that is used to advertise an event and that includes performer names. The existence of Playbill, a company that issues programs, may add to the confusion of these two terms, but they are distinct. Playbill makes programs, but playbills are not programs. I think that this page needs to remove mention of playbills and/or clarify the distinction between the terms. Josephpaulhill (talk) 20:51, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
