Hank's Razor

[edit]

Hank Green suggests that "any phenomenon that can be explained by socioeconomic status probably is explained by socioeconomic status." This could be named "Hank's Razor." 216.212.29.71 (talk) 02:12, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think it will need more adoption and use, but surely is an interesting take on sociology. We may need to check with sociologists what they think about it. Jeanlucaslima (talk) 05:23, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding the article

[edit]

I think this article could benefit from elaboration on the present topics. Specifically, including with each example of a razor, the arguments given by their originators for the validity of the razor, any existing arguments challenging their validity by other philosophers, and examples of the razors being used in arguments. Giume, who is Giume?

[edit]

Grice's razor or the principle of taking a charitable view in conversation. I looked online for Giume in the context of razor and principle of charity. Found nothing. 2003:EE:8F14:F97C:18:CB9:1FAD:10E2 (talk) 21:00, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Einstein's razor?

[edit]

I am thinking of removing Einstein's razor, as I am not sure that it is officially recognized or referred to as a razor in philosophical literature. StarkReport (talk) 12:46, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
