Capitalising of common nouns
[edit]When something is being spelt out using its formal name it is correct to treat as a proper noun and capitalise in full, e.g. New South Government etc per MOS:NAMECAPS. But when being spoken about in a general sense it should be treated as a common noun and thus written in all lower case, i.e. the government, not the Government per MOS:INSTITUTIONS. Same applies in the context of this sentence; The Partnership also suggested building...
is in a general sense so partnership
should be in lower case. 220.101.99.88 (talk) 06:10, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Update to old Carlingford Line stations pages
[edit]The pages of the old T6 Carlingford Line stations make no mentions of their replacements which opened today. Should they be updated as light rail stops accordingly? 202.51.247.23 (talk) 07:26, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, but updated to only mention new light rail stops have been opened at where the old railway stations were. However, I don’t think those articles should not be changed to light rail stops just yet, and should remain as the articles for the now closed and demolished stations, until a consensus on talk pages agrees to change them. Just as an example, South Melbourne light rail station is an example where a disused railway station became a tram/light rail stop. Marcnut1996 (talk) 23:11, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- I've followed Melbourne's example when it comes to Dundas. Cheers, Will Thorpe (talk) 02:51, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Willthorpe: While I would have advised against jumping the gun that early and converting the Dundas one to a light rail stop article without a discussion, what you have done so far could be a reasonable template to follow. I have started a move discussion at Talk:Dundas railway station, Sydney to grab a consensus among different Wikipedia users. Marcnut1996 (talk) 10:22, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
