Requested move 10 May 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Primary topic on long-term-significance, and also (albeit less strongly so) by usage. (non-admin closure) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 18:14, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
– The primary topic having been elected as governor. The politician gets more than 5 times as many views than the next most viewed Mark. Sahaib (talk) 17:34, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose: There isn't really a >5:1 ratio. As shown here, there has been less than a 2:1 ratio in the past year, about a 1.8:1 ratio relative to the producer. A sitting governor also obviously has a bit of WP:RECENTISM in his favor. Interest will probably fade, especially once he leaves office, so the 1.8:1 ratio may sink. Also note that the quoted 1.8:1 ratio is only relative to one topic, but there are six other Mark Gordons listed. Primary topic status should consider all the other topics, not just the second most popular. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:54, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: The producer's page seems to have some undisclosed payment issues. Also the politician is running for re-election this year. Sahaib (talk) 22:21, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- Both of those issues seem irrelevant to the RM, unless we think someone is paying people to increase the pageviews for the producer, which seems unlikely. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:53, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support while the pageviews may be due to recentism, the politician also seems to have more long term significance than the producer, the actor, or the bridge player. BilledMammal (talk) 01:27, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support - a governor and a producer, actor, or bridge player are not anywhere close to the same level of educational significance Red Slash 21:35, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
