Judicial system of Singapore → Judiciary of Singapore – Standardizing the names of main articles in Category:Judiciaries. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:01, 26 April 2016 (UTC) relisted --Mike Cline (talk) 13:48, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose ambiguous naming wikt:judiciary means the body of judges. While "judicial system" clearly refers to the judicial system and not the body of judges -- 70.51.46.195 (talk) 12:01, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- Support: its actually a rather logical move. "Judiciary" means the entire system, not just judges. Its more succinct and can be made uniform across other nation's judiciary pages. DaltonCastle (talk) 23:10, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- Alternative suggestion: As 70.51.46.195 pointed out, the content of this article is really more about the judicial system than the body of judges. I notice that one of the subcategories of "Category:Judiciaries" is "Category:Court systems by country". Perhaps this article should be renamed "Court system of Singapore"? However, if all the articles named "Judiciary of [country]" in fact cover both the court system and the judiciary, then I have no objection to the proposal to rename the article. — SMUconlaw (talk) 18:43, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose as ambiguous in Commonwealth English. This raft of proposals to rename all of the articles in a one-size-fits-all approach seems rooted in an attempt to apply American terminology worldwide without reference to the various kinds of systems in place. RGloucester — ☎ 15:25, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
