This looks like a neat little article. Looking forward to reviewing. It is a wonderful world (talk) 16:11, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Delqa, I have started my review below. For the prose, I think it will need a second iteration of feedback before it is up to GA standard, so when you have addressed all the points, I'll give it another read. It is a wonderful world (talk) 16:15, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Finished fixing the points you mentioned! :) Delqa (talk) 17:41, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Delqa, I removed all the points that have been adequately addressed. For the points which have not been, I replied with more detailed explanations so they can be better understood. If you don't think a point is valid, or don't understand what I am saying, feel free to reply to it individually below. When most the concerns have been addressed I'll re-read. It is a wonderful world (talk) 00:17, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
More point-fixing finished! Delqa (talk) 15:43, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Delqa, thank you for your fixes. I just reread it and added some more points below. I believe they are the only concerns I have left. Once they have been addressed I will do the spot check. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:15, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Addressed :) Delqa (talk) 17:15, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Delqa, I have passed on most things. Spot check posed no issues, I just have one question regarding the scope below. It is a wonderful world (talk) 11:29, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prose (Criteria 1a, 1b, 4) checkY

Lead

[edit]

The lead should summarize the key points of the article, and it's currently quite short. I would recommend you pick three or so of the most important points in the article, and then summarize them in the lead. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Early life and education

[edit]

Could "Triennium academicum" be translated or linked? It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Following this, Fehr practiced with the electoral Saxon personal physician Johann Ruprecht Sulzberger in Dresden, further studied at the University of Altdorf under Ludwig Jungermann, and completed his studies at the University of Padua on 16 February 1641, where he was promoted to Dr. med. et phil under Johann Vesling, before returning to Schweinfurt to work as a doctor and conduct botanical studies.: This was fragmented before, and lacked flow. To fix that issue, you merged it into a single sentence, which was an overall positive change. However, by merging the whole paragraph into a single sentence, it has become hard to parse. I think breaking it down into two to three sentences would be a much better balance. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Career and later life

[edit]

Footnotes c, d are not full sentences, so they should not have full stops at the end. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could "Argonauta I." be translated into something meaningful for the reader? It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As president he chose the cognomen Argonauta I. and was influenced by the political and social revolution during that time according to Leopoldina.: Tagging "according to Leopoldina" on the end makes this flow badly, and the separate ideas should be separated grammatically. I suggest changing it to "As president, he chose the cognomen Argonauta I and, according to the Leopoldina, was influenced by the political and social revolution of the time." to fix both these issues. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To use the phrasing "Despite this" to connect the two sentences and build the narrative, you have to be certain that Leopold was aware of their revolutionary influences. Does the source definitely support this? It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

According to Leopoldina, this served as an important milestone for further development of the academy -> "According to the Academy, this served as an important milestone for further development": Conciseness and capitalization of the proper noun It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Footnote e could do with a citation. It is a wonderful world (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A quick Google doesn't find any sources that haven't been incorporated already. That Latin book from the 17th century is one of the most obscure references I have ever seen! I'm impressed you managed to summarize the material. It is a wonderful world (talk) 16:11, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Took a lot of time getting through all that Latin text, especially with old letters which don't exist anymore. Delqa (talk) 17:45, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The CVJMF source has: "1666 wurde Fehr Nachfolger des verstorbenen Johann Lorenz Bausch in der Funktion des Stadtarztes von Schweinfurt. 1672 folgte er dem Ruf zum Reichsvogt von Schweinfurt und krönte seine Karriere, als er im Jahre 1686 zum kaiserlichen Leibarzt berufen wurde." which seems to include new important information about him being Imperial Physician to the Emperor (after putting through translation software). What is your rationale for not including this? It seems very relevant to me. Or is it an artefact of the translation software? It is a wonderful world (talk) 11:25, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I must of overlooked that when reading through it, can't believe I didn't see that. Included it now as it's definently notable. Delqa (talk) 16:53, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, it's pretty lucky I came upon it. I only happened to read it because I put the wrong paragraph in the translator for the spot check! It is a wonderful world (talk) 18:33, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
