Albert Barnes' Notes on the Old Testament is not a reliable source, and his views shouldn't be copy-pasted into this or any other Wikipedia page. I removed the information copy-pasted from Barnes in the section on verse 1, but it has since been restored by User:JohnThorne without any edit summary or discussion. Copy-pasting in text from random sources is not how we're supposed to build Wikipedia pages. To demonstrate that Albert Barnes holds pre-critical and now fringe views on biblical topics, see his introduction to Genesis, where he simply assumes Mosaic authorship, a view untenable today: Introduction to Genesis.
