What is missing

[edit]
  • what radio standard is used? Wifi, Zigbee, Z-Wave?
  • where is the hub? is it something local in the home or is it a central server in the internet (cloud based)?
  • what protocol is used between the devices and the hub?
  • is there an API, is it public?

HomeKitApple Home – Proposing page be renamed Apple Home to reflect the name of the platform, whereas the current name (HomeKit) is one of two supported software frameworks that work inside the platform. The intro sentence should also be rewritten to something like "Apple Home is a smart home platform that uses the HomeKit and Matter software frameworks. It seems that this article is focused both on the framework and the overall home component, it would seem like there might be more of a spit this article in two sort of thing. TiggerJay(talk) 06:49, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there's enough to write about the HomeKit framework by itself to justify an entire article. --Shivertimbers433 (talk) 04:35, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
